We stayed here to experience the NFL Draft in Detroit. The location was perfect and was settled into a quiet neighborhood. Everything we needed was available to make the place a comfortable stay.

This spacious listing presented itself at the perfect time. The hosts were responsive to initial inquiries to include check in. The landscape presented a wonderful backdrop and scenery for this space so close to Detroit. The kitchen and bathroom decor match the furniture and rest of the house furniture. In house laundry made it easy to travel light. A misunderstanding presented itself on check in with kitchen housekeeping. Delayed communication on kitchen upkeep, items found in the refrigerator, and trash instructions upon arrival led to an uncomfortable situation until resolved through text messages with Jeanne and Richard. We were grateful for the hospitality and beauty of this home. Its location allowed our family to handle our affairs in the short amount of time allowed in comfortable settings.

This property is in a quiet secluded area. It is comfortable and stocked with everything you might need from kitchen utensils and cookware, to books and games, to extra bedding to bathroom and laundry supplies. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating.

We loved our time here at Sanctuary. What a lovely little get away just minutes away from major highways. Incredibly well stocked (the coffee grinder was appreciated), and the fireplace was so warm and cozy. We especially appreciated help with getting the pilot light re-started when we accidentally switched it off. We spent most of our time reading (what a fun selection in the bedroom), snuggling in front of the fire, and cooking together. They were super helpful when we forgot a jacket as well. Great hosts and a cozy space to share.

We enjoyed a cozy Christmas at this wonderful home. The fireplace was a highlight. This was our second trip to this great property. The house is comfortable and very well stocked with everything from pans to games. The hosts are very accommodating. We slept well in this nice quiet neighborhood.

This property was in the perfect location. Short, easy drive to most attractions in the Detroit/Dearborn area. The hosts were excellent communicators and answered questions immediately. Check in/out was a breeze. Would definitely reserve again if we decide to go back to this area.

This was the ultimate Michigan place to stay. The house was so inviting, warm, cozy, it felt familiar, was so complete and had easy to understand features and experiences. The hosts couldn't have been more congenial. A perfect 10 from start to finish.

The home was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. Our hosts were available to help and were quite responsive. The house is very private with lots of land and woods surrounding it. We saw deer and wild Turkey almost every day that we were there. We definitely plan to go back.

What a lovely home! We loved the 1950s furnishings and huge windows looking out on trees, deer and turkeys. Jeanne and Richard were very accommodating and friendly. The house is incredibly well stocked-- so many extra pillows, blankets, cookware, games, books, etc. Everything you need! The location is perfect for access to freeways to Detroit and roads to other suburbs. We hope to stay again next time we visit family.

Truly a great piece of property, and literally a "hidden" gem in the outskirts of Detroit. A great place for those looking for privacy, and a buffer from the city. Would highly recommend !

The home was so close to everything we wanted to see and do in the Detroit and surrounding area! And with a beautiful setting as a bonus, we never felt like we were staying "in the city". The house had everything you could possibly need, including some of the things you're likely to forget to bring along! Highly recommended and will definitely book again if we're going to be back in the area.

We spent our days at The Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village. Evenings were spent in this charming home - tucked away from the bustle of the city. Relaxing. Welcoming. Comfortable.

The hosts and house were the best I have ever encountered in my life ... delightful acccommodations and grounds, easy access to 696 and friendly nearby host Jeanne ... A wonderful week included a Tigers game, Detroit Zoo and Aquarium with Rain Forest Cafe. We really enjoyed this rental house experience.

This is the fourth time we have rented this property because we have family we like to visit about 20 minutes away. We love it and will keep coming back!

I've visited the greater Detroit area a number of times and had no clue a property like this one existed. "Sanctuary" is the perfect word! Large lot, quiet neighborhood, comfy beds, and a cozy living room. My only regret is not being able to spend more time at the house while we were there. I would have no concerns recommending this property to others or staying here again myself.

This was our second time staying at the property, and I am happy to report that it was still amazing. The house is located in the back of a quiet, serene neighborhood with plenty of large trees. The proximity to 10 makes it incredibly convenient and easy to get to Detroit. All supplies are abundantly stocked; I particularly appreciated that there were plenty of extra towels. The beds were quite comfortable, and I slept soundly. The backyard and landscaping are beautiful! Richard and Jeane are hospitable and kind; we are grateful that they allowed us to stay at their house!

The directions are perfect. Found the place no problem. Check in was a breeze. The home is clean and very comfortable. The location is secluded, yet close to everything. Food, shopping centers, pharmacy, groceries, gas stations, malls. The owners are quite friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

We were in town for our eldest's graduation from Lawrence Tech. We could hardly believe we were still in Southfield! The Sanctuary Inn provided us a peaceful retreat from the chaos of graduation and moving our child out of the dorm. We would absolutely stay here again if in the area!

We had an absolutely amazing time! The home was warm and very welcoming! The location was perfect with tons of land surrounding the home. My family had a great time and the children enjoyed playing outside and gathering around the fireplace. We will definitely be back! The hosts were also very nice and accommodating.

We loved staying here for the Christmas and New Year holidays! The house is at the end of a cul de sac with a big and private backyard. The gas fireplace is awesome and the living room is big with a large coffee table for games and puzzles. The kitchen and dining area are conducive for cooking and socializing. The home is fully stocked with whatever you may need. The owners are incredibly nice. We would rent this home again.

An amazing property that makes it hard to imagine bustling Detroit is only minutes away, A forest hideaway for wildlife & humans alike. Hosts are welcoming but give guests ample privacy. Highly recommend Ford Rouge Factory tour with excellent multi-media presentation & "catwalk" views of a working assembly line (F-150 pickups).
