The pictures don't do this home justice, similar to pictures overall not taking in what you experience in Iceland. Our only regret is we had so many things to do and see- we wish we had allocated more time to spend just relaxing in this beautiful home. Will definitely return!

What a spectacular property. The pictures don’t even do it justice. The house feels brand new - from the furniture to the heated floors. A view to die for - overlooking a river on a quiet road. It’s the perfect spot to do your excursions from. Sigyn is amazing too! Perfect communicator and amazing host. We didn’t want to leave this slice of heaven!

There were 9 of us of all ages that arrived in Iceland. The house was perfect for us, both in size and location. We were lucky to have mild weather, so there was no problem driving our rental van. Sigyn was there when we arrived and showed us around the house. She actually shipped my diamond earrings that I inadvertently left there on departure and they arrived the next week. I would definitely stay there again!

We had such an exciting time at our get away in Iceland. Sigyn was such a gracious host. There were 8 adults and we has such a pleasant time. Beautiful home, close to the Golden Circle, with such amazing views. This will be our home base for our next trip. I highly recommend this Villa. Terry Hatchitt

We were so happy with this home. I will and would highly suggest this home to anyone traveling to Iceland. If we ever visit Iceland again, I would try to stay at the house. The location was amazing!! The check in process was easy. Thank you for allowing us to stay at this lovely home!

We arrived with our 3 kids and 2 grandparents in tow! We met Diddi at the door and he greeted us with a warm smile and a bottle of champagne! Which was very much needed as it was 2:30am our time :). This home had it all but if you had to pick one thing, the view every day was worth every penny. We cooked 3 dinners and breakfast every morning. It was spotless, cozy, and the hot tub after a day of long hikes truly hit the spot. We have travelled all over the world with our kids in tow and they put Iceland as one of their favorite places thus far. The owners, Diddi and Sigyn, checked in with us from time to time, were helpful with places to eat, things to do and general directions on how to get around the country. This house was centralized to everything we wanted to do. Nothing was more than 90 minutes from the house and the town of Vik, with the black sand beaches Wes the furthest. We were less than 30-45 minutes from almost every major sight and activity you’d want to see. Including Geysir, Gulfoss waterfall, glacier walks and ice caves, beaches, horse back riding, the golden circle, the Blue Lagoon, etc. We did it all In just 7 days. We tend to choose luxury type accommodations when we travel and this house did not disappoint. We left with 500+ pictures and videos and memories to last a lifetime. Must do - the glacier walk. This Villa is truly the perfect combination of rustic and glam! Walking into the main living space I felt transported into a life of luxury and relation! Two stunning crystal chandeliers charmed the main living space while the extra large wood burning fireplace filled the room with warmth and comfort. The house was decorated with fine art and an extensive variety of books! And what a spectacular view of the lake and the mountain! It was just breathtaking! I spent the evenings cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, relaxing with a glass of sparkling wine next to the fireplace, and then taking a dip in the private whirlpool outside. The house is privately located on the lake, yet conveniently just a short drive to downtown Selfoss. It is ideal for a cozy weekend get away in the summer or winter! The owner was incredibly hospitable as she prepared a welcome treat and ensured my stay was relaxing. She put a lot of thought and passion into making this the ideal getaway. The house was perfect for our family of 6. The kitchen was nicely stocked with spices and coffee. The fireplace was warm and inviting after a long day of exploring Iceland in the cold. The pool table downstairs add to the family fun. If you're looking for a nice home to complement your visit to Iceland think about this Luxury Lakefront Villa, It would be outstanding in the spring and summer. We didn't spend much time outdoors (visited in late November) but the lake looked wonderful and the patio was inviting.

The owner was brilliant with communication and was on hand ready to welcome us. The property is utterly beautiful and finished to a very high standard, thoughtful touches were included such as flip flops (for heading to the hot tub), spare weatherproof walking boots, wellie boots (and we certainly had some rain), bath robes, plenty of spare towels. As a group of 8 we had hired 2 hire cars and headed north one day and as East as Vik another day. We therefore as a group ate at the house after a long day out and about. The kitchen facilities were brilliant and the games room an added bonus. Despite not managing to see the Northern Lights we saw some amazing sights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a perfect location and beautiful surroundings. A long weekend we will not forget! This home is beautiful and exactly as described on this site. It was everything we were hoping for and more! The home is deserving of its place on the cover of a home design magazine. The location was perfect for touring the southern part of the country. Homeowners were very helpful and responsive. We would definitely recommend to others. Thank you for a great experience!!!

Sigyn was so helpful in sharing what we could expect upon arrival, and everything exceeded our expectations! It was a beautiful house in a perfect location. We honestly wished we had booked a much longer stay! We will definately be back to stay at one of Sigyn's locations again. It was so close to so many sights and the grocery store is just down the road if you want to stay in, eat, and relax. The view, quiet atmosphere, and beautiful furnishings are definately worth what we paid and we are so glad we went for this listing! See you again soon Sigyn!!

We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary in this home. It is beautifully appointed and Sigyn was more than helpful, made us feel like family, and directed us to supermarkets, restaurants, and local attractions. We were sad to leave after 4 days. We were a family of 7, and the 3 children were even sad to leave. Will definitely go back and will tell all that travel to Selfoss area about such a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Sigyn's lake house. We had 3 adults and 3 kids, and the 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths made it very comfortable. Everything was really well stocked in the home - so it was easy to make meals. This is really the way to go. We stayed a hotel in Glacier Lagoon and an apartment in Reykavik to complete our trip, and while they were nice, they didn't compare to this house.

We stayed in this lovely Holliday Home with 10 people. Sigyn gave us a warm welcome and everything we needed (and even more...) was in the comfortable and clean house. We enjoyed the beautiful environment, close to all the highlights of South Iceland. Not cheap, but a good balance between money and value,.

Cozy, clean, beautiful lakefront property tucked in a small wooded area. Kitchen was stocked full of amenities. The owners were gracious and helpful. All of the Golden Circle attractions are within an hour's drive. Expensive yet very well done.
