I would like to note - the door lock on the rear door should be replaced. We didn't really lock the door the entire time we were there because of the difficulty of getting the key in and out. It kept jamming up, also the door was dirty. We also get that we're in Texas, so I expect some bugs, but we had at least 6 roaches in the house we took care of. Small minor stuff, but wanted to let you know.

It didn't stop us from having a fantastic time, great place and would definitely do it again.

This was a great house to stay at! I loved being backed up to the lake. I put in request to have some light bulbs replaced but never heard from anyone. Overall it was a good experience.

The house could use some TLC. Some of the cabinet lamination is peeling in the kitchen. Blinds are mossing in the bunk room. The bunk room really needs a ceiling fan to promote air circulation, which was nice in the other bedrooms. Two of the ceiling fans have broken chains that don't allow you to adjust the speed. We didnt alert maintenance of most of these issues given the COVID threat, but it would go a long way to do a little updating and maintenance. It was still a lovely trip and we enjoyed our time.

My parents stayed in the first floor brother and sister-in-law in upstairs master, daughters in the upstairs bunk room with trundle, my husband and I in the upstairs queen room and nephews on the pull out downstairs sofa. We spent our days enjoying the Cinnamon Shores pools, our preset up chairs and umbrellas on the beach, great meals on property at Lisabella's, Dylan's Pizzeria, and C Bar at the pool, and our Top Deck Golf cart rented on property. Mostly we just enjoyed our family time together at the Love Shack cooking and hanging out. Definitely will be back!

Reviewer Comments: Setting up our stay was easy - the website was informative & user-friendly, and the description and photos of the home were helpful & accurate. I wish the description explicitly said that the home had a traditional coffee maker, small Keurig, & outdoor gas grill, & that it was indeed pet-friendly. But when I called the office & used the online chat, staff was happy to help answer those questions & more. I also appreciated the detailed info about check-in, rental agreement, & guidelines for our stay & checkout process by email in advance. Check-in was quick & easy, & we found the home to be in very good condition with the exception of sand on floors & beds, dust-bunnies under furniture, & a couple of stains on couches & bedding. Blinds were missing on one of the doors in the bunk room, but when I called to report that, staff offered a quick resolution. The home has a great layout & the good-sized rooms, tall ceilings, large windows & 3 balconies give it a roomy feel. We particularly loved the beautiful view of Lake Colby from the back porch & back upstairs bedroom. Couches & beds were comfy & the home was stocked with plenty of linens, kitchenware, & cleaning supplies for our 4-night stay. The clothes washer was extremely loud. And the single-cup Keurig gave us problems every single morning - it should be replaced. I really enjoyed the live music just outside of Lisabella's restaurant, & dinner at C Bar Cafe & lounging at Kiera's pool was picture-perfect! Make sure to call in advance about restaurant/cafe hours - they were only open on Sat/Sun during our stay (which was before the busy summer season). I was very disappointed to not receive return calls that were promised after our inquiries about scheduled activities & checkout arrangements, so that put a damper on the end of our stay & revealed opportunity for improvement in customer service. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return & recommend Cinnamon Shores and The Love Shack!

About a 10 minute drive to town for any groceries or meals and very nice pools at Cinnamon shore! Wish the beach was closer (easier to lug our stuff instead of having to drive 2 minutes to boardwalk)and the mosquitoes were gone, otherwise had a good time. Golf carts were pricey to rent, but had lots of fun.

However, the wear and tear is clear. Upon arrival, all three of the exterior door knobs were very loose. We called to report it within the first hour of our stay and were assured someone would come and fix the issue within 24 hrs along with checking out one of the bedroom ceiling fans that wasn’t working. No one showed up so I called two more times and emailed over the next day. We were only there for four nights. Again, no one came. After two days one of the people staying with us borrowed a screwdriver from a construction crew and fixed the doors herself. For how much you’re paying you should get much better service than this and shouldn’t have to deal with basic things like broken ceiling fans. Also, the rental was clean but not spotless as one might expect for the exorbitant cleaning fee required of renters. Overall, the property was comfortable with a nice lake view but was a little worn out.
