We were visiting Tyler for our sons wedding. This home was older home that was professionally redone but keeping historical value. Wish we would have had more time to spend exploring!

My husband and I took my elderly mother and two of her friends for the Tyler Quilt Show. We got this property based on the pictures and my mother loves old homes. But this turned out to be much more than that. All of us have stayed at VRBOs and BNBs around the country many times, yet we all agreed this was the BEST we had ever been at, hands down. Clean, neat, beautifully decorated. Stocked superbly. In the closet with extra towels and such the owners had put anything you could ever need or might have forgotten - it was amazing. The library/game room was spectacularly stocked with things for all ages. Dozens and dozens of games. The house mystery clue game was a blast - even if you aren’t a game person you must try it. Truly a great experience! It deserves far more than the 5 stars. We will definitely be back!

This place is AMAZING, unique, wonderful and one-of-a-kind. Our family had such a great time. It was the perfect place for us to meet up and spend a long weekend together. Angel and Louis are so much fun, generous and gracious. We will definitely be staying here again, and I can't stop telling my friends all about it.

I cannot tell you enough praise for this home and for the owners! Super hosts, indeed! I had an issue with my caterer not showing up and had to pivot last minute and Angel came through with all the serving pieces in her lovely home. The attention to detail and love put into this home was truly enjoyed by us all. From the mystery of the house to the classy dining table that gave us the perfect location to do great work together. I will stay here again...and again...and again.

This was perfect for our family Thanksgiving! It had a bedroom and bathroom for all couples, a well-stocked kitchen, large dining room with seating for us all, a fun game room (plus the chance to meet Ruby the hawk), and more. Highly recommend!

The house itself is amazing. We played games most of the night in the game room. I enjoyed not having TVs and electronics everywhere. We have enough of that already in life. What really made this trip over the top was meeting the hawk. I can’t say enough thanks to the owners for sharing that experience. My kids keep keep telling everyone it was the best place they have ever stayed.

We had a great time. The home is perfect for a large family and the host was very responsive. No issues. Home was clean and everything worked! The kitchen is well stocked. The home is conveniently located to downtown and within walking distance to a great cake place. Yummy!! A bonus was having a first hand experience with a falcon. So cool for our little one to see the bird up close. Great memories were made over the weekend.

This VRBO was so unique and fun! Lots of options for entertainment and close to downtown Tyler! What a blast! The Escape Game and the Falcon were HIGHLIGHTS!!

Our stay at the Wren in the Willows was exceptional. We were a group of 5 couples in town for a wedding and the house couldn’t have been more perfect. We each had our own suite, the rooms were all a good size, and the large table was perfect for us to all sit around and catch-up. The attention to detail was the icing on the cake. This is an exceptional property! Each bedroom is delightfully decorated (look for the Cheshire cat in the Alice in Wonderland room) no detail has been overlooked (fans and phone chargers in each bedroom) and the hosts are attentive and gracious! Find a reason to visit Tyler and stay in this house! You won’t be disappointed.

Louis and Angels have such a great property and are the best hosts! House is clean and spacious - just as listed in the description. They also go above and beyond making you feel at home. Our 2nd time staying here during the holidays and we look forward to returning!!!

My sisters and I stayed at the house for my mother’s funeral. It was perfect for us, in a perfect area for us and perfect for hosting after the funeral. Louis and Angel encouraged us to host my big family at the house(all hosts don’t do that) and were so accommodating and helpful

Most amazing property and delightful experience! Every detail about this hidden treasure was pure pleasure - I reached out to the owner while I was there to tell her that what she had created was a spiritual gift to the soul. Every amenity possible was provided, the frig and pantry were fully stocked with food and drinks, tons of space to spread out and enjoy every inch of the incredible historic home and it’s timeless appeal. As a life-long reader, I was completely enthralled with the literary themed bedrooms and the planning that went into making each one special and unique to their respective namesakes. Having a dedicated game room in the library, a piano and a guitar, and a whole-home clue quest puzzle to solve were unexpected features I welcomed and found refreshing in our digital culture dominated by screens. We will most definitely be using this property again, any chance we might have to gather again and reconnect with family and friends.

Not enough characters to tell all the good things about this property, our hosts and our experience. From the minute Angel (host) met us at the property with homemade cookies and a local pound cake (OMG Good), to the tour of the home, to the incredible experience with Louis (host) and the Harris Hawk Lucy, to the mystery game around the house (wink, wink), to the comfortable, inviting bedrooms with private baths -- we wanted for nothing! Our family time was made all the better because of this wonderful home and our 2nd-to-none hosts!! Like many before us....we'll be back!!!

This property is incredible and everything mentioned in the listing. My children and grandchildren and i celebrated my milestone birthday for the weekend and the kids young and old had a blast and did not want to leave. They played cards and games til early in the morning, enjoyed the interaction with our hosts, laughed and got close to each other again. the bedrooms/bathrooms are incredible. There are so many antiques and conversation pieces and things to see in every room. The hosts are delightful and very giving and i can not say enough about the warmth and inviting welcome. We will have another family celebration there as a weekend getaway in the future. Dont miss it!!

We reserved the whole house for a family reunion. The hosts were very gracious. They gave us a tour of the house, both the history and the function. The house has plenty of common areas for a large group. Each room had a comfortable bed and a private bath. There was a game room with bookshelves full of games. The hosts had a set up a mystery search in the house. We had fun solving the clues and finding the secret ending. We would highly recommend this house and the hosts for a relaxing get away.

We had the pleasure of staying three nights in this lovely, historical Tyler home during July 4th weekend. Our party consisted of 6 adults and 5 (ages 17mos-10years) children. All rooms/beds were comfortable & all reported resting and sleeping well. I usually share a king sized bed with my husband, but we took the smallest (full sized) bed & even were comfortable in it! The home is beautifully renovated, while still maintaining the charm of a historical home. The oldest children immensely enjoyed solving the "house mystery". The whole group enjoyed spending time on the front porch. Angel was so nice to meet us at check in, providing us with helpful information about the house, as well as restraurants and interesting shops in the area. No doubt the highlight of the stay was getting to meet and learn about Lucy, the hawk trained by Louis. What an awesome & unexpected experience. The home has a library filled with hundreds of games. We were out most of the time, but if you are a game lover, you could have a great time & never leave the house. If you have an opportunity to stay at this property, I highly recommend it.

Our family came together in Tyler for the funeral of a family member. We came from five states and wanted to be together in one place. This home was perfect for our situation. We avoided logistical distractions and it allowed us time together which we wouldn’t have had if we had stayed in hotels. Louis and Angel could not have been more accommodating. They attended to our every need and, in fact, went above and beyond! The literary themed rooms and the “house mystery” were welcome distractions. Some of the younger adults spent hours following the clues until the mystery was solved. I would highly recommend Angel and Louis’ wonderful home for any group gathering.

Our college friend group was in town for a baby shower and I stumbled upon this listing large enough to host us all. I cannot say enough good things- every single detail in the home was well thought out, the house was clean, adorable, and an incredible location! We were able to walk out to dinner Friday night and enjoyed group hangs catching up on the porch. Coffee was ready for us to start in the morning, so many fun games were left, and there was even a special check in surprise that kept us entertained for many hours! The hosts were wonderful- it is clear that there was a lot of time, thought, and energy put into this home- we already cannot wait to return!
