The room was big (we had a suite) and well equipped. The views from the terrace outside were lovely. We were able to use free bikes and rent a scooter for a day. The staff helped us book onwards travel and a very early morning teansfer to the hotel from our sleeper bus.. The pool was lovely. Lovely bike rides into the main town.

The costs add up, the food was too expensive at the farmstay compared to anywhere else we've been here.. The free breakfast was meagre and much less than anywhere else we've been in Vietnam. There was an additional charge of 40k per day for the water which we hadn't been aware of previously. (It was written in our booking confirmation email as explained by the staff but we had not noticed this)..I think I'd be happier if this cost was just added to the room cost and the water was then free!

Location is perfect! it’s not in the center of the town, but for that you get a beautiful environment and peace and quite :) Also the staff are the best, so thoughtfull and caring.

My 7 yo daughter and I has such a great time here. It is such a relaxing spot with great views and lots of space to chill out in. The entire place has lots of attention to detail and feels luxurious. My daughter of course spent tons of time in the pool. The room was really spacious and had a great feel. Jim, the manager, was always checking in to see how he could help either with information or help setting up transportation. He led a free afternoon motorbike tour to some local spots that were unexpected and really fun. There are other free walking tours as well. And of course you are near to the national park with its wealth of caves to see during the day.

The Farmstay is in a little village outside of Phong Nha with an amazing view on the wide fields. We loved the calm and quite environment - it was exactly what we wanted. Our room was just beautiful and beyond our expectations, we loved the light and the high ceiling. The outside area looked a bit different than in the pictures, probably because of same quick fixes that have been done over time. The staff was really friendly and helpful, we also enjoyed the little gym area outside.

The only thing we would add is that the food was just okay and much more expansive than any where else we’ve been. Also vegetarian/vegan options are low, however the staff tried everything to provide us food we could eat - which we highly appreciate.

the rural setting

We liked the overall setup of the farmstay with cosy lounge, billard table, bar, pool, patio around the rooms etc. It's all nicely done and cool. The room was very spacious and the furnishing well thought-through. Nice large bed with mosquito net. The staff was very friendly, and they prepared a refreshing welcome drink for us when we arrived.

The maintenance of the public spaces could be improved (including pool), it gave a bit of an outworn impression. The air-condition in our room was loud, and there was more noise coming from outside, some other equipment we could not reckon. Even earplugs could not erase it entirely.

Already from the airport pick up and the first minutes at the accommodation we knew we will have a great time in Phong Nha. The room we have booked was really clean and spacious, with not one, but 2 bathrooms. The surrounding rural area is magical, we have enjoyed a short safari through the rice fields and also a morning walk with the owner, Ben, through the village, all packed with information about the history of the place and the fauna and flora. Ben is an excellent source of information if you want to know more than just the usual tourist blabla. His dedication to the area is so great that he even has a local history podcast you could listen to. The food was marvelous and the service exquisite. All the team was genuinely trying to make everyone have the best time of their life. The day trips with the easy riders are a must. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the views. The area is packed with things to do and experience: there are numerous caves that can be visited, a botanical garden, the Ho Chi Minh Road and much more. And at the end of a full day you can come back to the accommodation and enjoy a sauna or a swim, have a sundowner and watch the rice fields preparing to go to sleep and then enjoy a delicious dinner, everything on the premises. We were really sad we did not stay longer and if we come back to Vietnam, Phong Nha Farmstay will definitely be on the list again.

Maybe worth mentioning for the light sleepers out there: there were some small windows above the main windows that did not have drapes, so we had some light in the room during the night, but this did not really bother us. I bet that the team at Phong Nha Farmstay would have done something about this if we would have told them.

This place is AMAZING! The staff is so great and there is so much to do. Whether you are hanging in the property or exploring the area, it has it all. We hope to come back!

A very relaxed welcoming place with helpful people ensuring you enjoy everything the area has to offer. A huge family room set very slightly away from the main area.

It is set a short drive from the main town so you have to make an effort to eat anywhere else and the pool water was a little murky.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Phong Nha Farmstay. The staff, the food, and overall vibe was incredible. I extended my stay and rearranged all of my travel so that I could spend another day at Phong Nha Farmstay. Don’t book any cave tours/excursions until you get to Farmstay because they have the best recommendations. Highlight of my month-long trip in Vietnam!

The farmstay is situated in paradise of rice paddies. The rooms are very comfortable and clean.The bar offers great view and really delicious food.

The pool was a bit dirty. So were the bathrooms at the bar

This hotel is really different from anything that I have experienced during my trip through Vietnam. It is family ‘affair’, but a very professional one. Rooms are wonderfully designed and super-clean, beds very comfortable that you really enjoy spending some time in your room. The restaurant that belongs to the hotel serves delicious food, freshly made. Ben and his wife Bich try to establish a slightly higher standard of accommodation in this area, and they have succeeded in doing so. yes, it is a bit more pricey than some other guesthouses, but once in a while you need to offer yourself a special treat after having spent countless nights in cheap, faceless hotels/hostels. Hope I will be able to come back to this wonderful place one day.

The staff is incredible! They go above and beyond for their guests. The owners clearly put their heart and soul into making the farmstay unique and comfortable.

It is a farmstay, so it's not surprising that we didn't have consistent hot water for even a quick shower--but that's understandable given the remote location. There will naturally also sometimes be bugs in the rooms, but it's a farmstay!
