Janet’s listing was beyond beautiful. The light and cheery unit was perfect for enjoying the peace and time to slow down with a cup of coffee and a book, and walking distance to State street, full of charming restaurants, shops, and even an awesome coworking space (Kiva). The location is perfect for exploring Santa Barbara; one day we walked down to the beach and then back up through town, sightseeing AND exercise with an urban hike. The place is the ultimate cozy and private. The kitchen is fully equipped and the clawfoot tub is a lovely touch. Honestly, we can’t wait to stay again. Janet is a gem.

This is a magic bungalow. Tucked in among the trees, flowers and ferns of the most fabulous compound. The bungalow is stocked with all of the utensils one might need to fix meals. The location is fabulous, it is quiet and Janet is wonderful. My husband and I will be returning as regular visitors to the magic garden and Santa Barbara hide away.

Janet is definitly the best host ever, she has a great taste and she is a very kind person, the place has a very nice feeling, everything you could need is there. It was flowers in a vase on the table, her own chicken eggs in the fridge, bacon, milk, wine, butter, coffee. Being there for Thanksgiving, I was invited at her family dinner, only 24 people, and she went way over the traditional dinner, unbelievable. The bed is extremely comfortable, from large towels, to sheets to bed comforter, it is all pure cotton and it feel so good, no synthetic here. I could go on, but I think that you get the picture. Cozy tree top cottage with everything you need! Gated property with a lovely garden walkway leading to the upstairs unit. We stayed at Janet's for three months when I worked a contract at Cottage hospital. 15 minute walk to the hospital and also a 15 minute walk to state street! Janet was a great hostess! Our pup even got so settled in, she didn't want to leave! We hope to be back soon! Would recommend and would stay again!

The cottage is homey with a comfortable bed and a claw foot tub and everything you could need for your stay. Tree top is walking distance to upper State St and Alice Keck Park. There is an IHOP 3-4 blocks away and a deli about the same distance. Easy access to the 101. Less than 10 min drive to the beach, the Mission and hiking nearby. Trader Joe’s and Ralph’s are a short drive as well. If you book tree top you won’t be disappointed and I know you’ll love it as much as I do.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The owner Janet was extraordinary, extremely helpful. The house was very clean and it was beautiful. Thank you Janet for making our anniversary trip amazing!!! I am definitely recommend it to my friends and if we go back to Santa Barbara we for sure will stay there. You can walk to Downtown but need a car to go to the beach.

Janet's place was everything we could have asked for and more. Her property feels incredibly secluded but is only a short walk from the wonders of State St. Janet herself was very accommodating during our stay. We certainly plan to return in future!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy second story tree top unit. It is close enough to downtown Santa Barbara to walk to shopping, movies, the Santa Barbara Art Museum and restaurants. It is furnished with plenty of cooking utensils and dishes as well as random spices and other cooking needs. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Santa Barbara.

My wife and i stayed for 2 nights in Janet's Treetop Getaway and loved every minute of our stay. The apartment was well furnished with everything you might need. It was clean and felt very welcoming from the bottles of water and the bottle of wine, to the food in the refrigerator and the full kitchen assortment of appliances. Our hostess Janet was very pleasant and helpful in guiding us to places we were seeking out. A nice quiet Oasis in the city of Santa Barbara. would highly recommend as a unique and inviting location.

This location is fantastic and Janet and her team do a great job as hosts. My parents stayed here in early September and they still rave about it. They're eager for a second trip to this quaint oasis. I can't thank you enough for giving them a great place to stay, delicious breakfast and overall, an incredibly memorable experience. We'll definitely be repeat customers!

My husband, my dog, and I stayed for two nights at one of Janet's cottages and we couldn't be any happier. Janet is a wonderful hostess and will make whatever it takes to make you feel like home. Everything was well thought and planned, the cottage was really tidy and clean and it came with perks like bottled water by the bed, a bottle of wine upon arrival, and tasty breakfast including fresh eggs from Janet's chickens :) Janet is really accommodating, we will definitely be back. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend and had an amazing time. We were visiting from San Francisco and wanted a cozy rental in a nice location, and Janet's property was perfect! She is so kind, very welcoming and even introduced us to all the beautiful chickens. Breakfast was delicious and having the bicycles was very convenient. We will definitely be back!

We were welcomed with open arms by our lovely host Janet. The treetop cottage was very warm, inviting, and cozy. The location was perfect and we were able to bike around at our leisure. There was so much to do in SB, however staying at the cottage was a highlight since it was quite romantic. If you're looking for the perfect place to stay in SB, look no further! Janet's cottage is where it's at! BTW - her chickens lay the freshest and tastiest eggs for a delightful breakfast treat! :)

Another wonderful stay in one of Janets cozy and very clean cottages! Love the comfortable bed, nice linens, interesting and fun furnishings and use of the bicycles! So relaxing and private, perfect vacation spot.

We were more than happy with our stay here. Janet is a gracious and attentive host. Everything was clean, private, and accommodating with so many personal touches. I loved the privacy and security while still being so close to downtown. I used the bike(s) to ride to great spots near by - great location.

Better than expected for our first VRBO stay. Lots of privacy. Very professional treatment. Did not feel like a rental.

This rental was great. My boyfriend and I stayed there for 3 nights with 2 dogs and it was perfect. The fees were very reasonable for the area and the amenities were great. The owner paid a lot of attention to details and provided items that made it extra special. It's close to downtown on foot or a short bike ride. There are steep stairs to the unit, so it may not be appropriate for anyone who can't climb stairs. The bedroom is seperate from living area, but it probably wouldn't be enough space for more than 3 people or a couple with small children.

Everything you need for a perfect getaway is included in the Treetop Cottage. From the lovely leafy view to the hen fresh eggs, your host Janet has thought of it all. Even the linens are great. The location is oh so close to everything Santa Barbara has to offer, and this well equipped and perfectly cared for abode is all you could want in a home away from from home. I've returned for year after year and continue to be charmed by everything Treetops has to offer----from your kind and caring host to the well stocked apartment to the great location. You won't go wrong with this choice!

There are not enough stars so I will have to give it only five! I was expecting a wonderful stay but left (sadly) having close to a perfect experience. Janet is the consummate host. She sees to your every need though is keenly respectful of your privacy. There is a personal touch and personality in everything in the "compound" as she calls it. It is literally an oasis, trees, bamboo groves, fountains, shaded gravel walks. The Tree Top Cottage is aptly named. It looks out on and above a forest of green and seclusion. Within minutes of arriving, I felt I had arrived back home to my personal apartment in the most beautiful California city. I have stayed in every type of traveller's accommodations all over the world and can honestly say this is the most hospitable, unique, aesthetic and comfortable place I have found. And enough good things cannot be said about Janet! It is though I was family and she welcomed me back. I was there a month which flew by. Most the people there had been returning year after year. I booked for "same time next year" before I left. Au Revoir!

My wife and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday for our "Baby Moon." We had a lovely, relaxing stay here for 4 nights and could not have been happier with the location and service we received. Janet was a great host and provided us breakfast supplies for the first few days, plus juice and beer, coffee, tea... The kitchen has all that is needed to cook most meals and the overall setup is super comfortable and inviting. State Street is about 3 blocks away and it is about 7 blocks to the heart of the shopping and dining areas. It is really a great location and close to everything. It has: -A tasteful decor -Super clean and tidy -great location -Very dog friendly What more could you ask for, thank you Janet!
