Our group loved this beautiful home! The decor was amazing and provided everything we needed for a mini vacation with friends. The deck was so peaceful for morning coffee and the kitchen table was perfect for our nightly card games. We loved the wooded area and proximity to Galena…a perfect getaway home!!

House is very welcoming from the moment you walk in. Full of beautiful interesting things as well as full of everything you will need. This makes the stay comfortable and easy - exactly what you want with a get away!

This was my fourth stay at Trails End. That should say a lot! We love this place. It is an awesome place to have an adult getaway.

To say nothing of the beautifully appointed and decorated home, our Host thought of everything. We were in Galena for a wedding and brought the grooms elderly grandparents who took the first floor bedroom outfitted with a queen-sized bed, my husband and I took the lower level with the oh-so-comfortable king and our daughter and SIL took the upstairs queen. The decks and grounds are lovely and really worked to re-energize our souls. Whole-heartedly thrilled with our accommodations. We couldn't have asked for more -- thank you, Ginger!

We loved everything about the property. It was very clean with everything provided that we could possibly need. The location was secluded but close enough to the resort, restaurants and the owners club (which we could access with the provided access cards). We loved sitting on the back porch. We loved the whirlpool which we used to wind down at the end of every night. We are looking forward to renting the property again in the future.

Cabin was so peaceful but the best part was the host and housekeeper who took the extra time to go back and look for an item my daughter had left behind!! Who does that? Just wonderful memories from this stay for sure!

We haven't been to Galena since 2019 and we were eager to visit a wonderful area of Illinois. We weren't disappointed with our visit starting off with Ginger's wonderful, secluded home. The property was as described and worthy of the 200+ ten-star reviews. Having 3 bedrooms, each with their separate bathrooms was perfect for the 3 couples that comprised our party. Firepit, BBQ grill and all the appliances were in working condition and enjoyed by all! Didn't have the opportunity to use the hot tub (next time!) . We encountered a slight issue with the check-in process (couldn't find the door entry code within the check-in email from VRBO). Nevertheless, we were able to contact the owner (Ginger) and she was able to help us gain entry. When we stay in Galena again- we'll certainly stay at Ginger's home. We had a perfect weekend for three friends from grade school to reconnect. The weather was perfect and the house was perfect. There were three bedrooms on three different floors, a deck to view nature, and a large kitchen table to eat, play games and laugh. The host was wonderful and sent suggestions ahead of time. Their home was well stocked and very comfortable. We had a picnic at Galena vineyards, shopped main street, ate at Galena brewery and did the Goat trek! We would love to come back with our spouses.

We spent a few nights in Galena to kick off our spring break and this cabin was the perfect fit for our family. We were so relaxed in the wooded surroundings and hope to return one day when the weather would allow us to enjoy the incredible deck! My teens loved the hot tub and we all played pool together in the evenings. It’s a spacious home that has been carefully tended to by its owners. We had an easy check-in and the owner was very responsive when needed. It’s a short drive to area attractions and it takes a bit to get used to the winding roads of the Galena Territory. All in all it was a wonderful trip and we would highly recommend this property.

Our recent stay at this property was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the woods, it provided the ideal backdrop for our family's escape from the hustle and bustle of life. The serenity and beauty of the surrounding nature were remarkable, offering us endless hours of outdoor activities. From bird spotting, which delighted us with glimpses of woodpeckers, to the invigorating hiking trails and horse back riding, and the soothing experience of sitting around the fire as the evenings drew in, every moment spent outdoors was a treasure. The house itself was a haven of comfort and convenience, catering to our every need. The updated bathrooms and kitchen were standout features, perfectly blending modern amenities with the rustic charm of the property. The kitchen was well-equipped, making meal preparation a breeze and allowing us to enjoy home-cooked meals together as a family. The bathrooms, with their contemporary fixtures and fittings, added an extra layer of comfort to our stay, ensuring that we could relax and refresh after a day of exploration and adventure. We would book this property again!

We so enjoyed our stay at Trails End! The house was absolutely lovely…such a nice setup with three beds and three baths, and so many interesting trinkets and decorations to look at. The hot tub was so clean and nice, the kitchen was well stocked, and the furniture was comfortable and cozy. We will definitely be back!

This was our second time staying at Trails End and our stay was as wonderful as the first time. The house is beautiful, comfortable and clean. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub and bird watching. Conveniently located near Galena. Ginger is a great host. She is so helpful and welcoming. We definitely recommend Trails End when visiting the Galena area. Cannot wait for our next getaway!

We enjoyed our stay. The amenities were great from the pool table to the hot tub, and the house is decorated in a very pleasing rustic style. The are comfortable and there’s plenty of room. Also, you’re far enough away from town to feel isolated but close enough to enjoy everything Galena has to offer. Overall, a very nice accommodation. We would definitely go back.

My wife and I had a lovely time relaxing by the fireplace and soaking in the outdoor hot tub on a snowy day. Would gladly return!

We stayed at trails end for an adult weekend away with some of us being in galena for the first time. The property was cozy and had wonderful ammenities. Ginger our host gave us great information and places to see. Loved all of the details of this home and loved being able to come back after visiting a very busy downtown area. Would definitely stay here again

This was our second stay at this property. It accommodates three couples very well because of the three bedroom three bathroom arrangement. Plus, each bedroom/bathroom is on a different level, offering people some privacy if they want to have some non-group time. The location is beautiful. My dad, especially, enjoys that the property has woods at the back. It’s a lovely drive through the area, with rolling hills and beautiful views.

Beautiful Fall weather enhanced our stay in a beautiful and comfortable home. Everything was as expected or better. Will come back again

This was my third stay at Trails End. That should say something for the property. Absolutely perfect for an adult getaway - each bedroom has a full bath. The location is beautiful. Ginger has thought of everything to make your stay perfect.

We loved this so much we are booking for next year already. Spacious, beautiful kitchen, private hot tub, gorgeous porch for bird watching. Take food and just plan on staying. Arrive during daylight if at all possible. No cell service in nearby town. Plenty of low key things to do nearby. Wifi at property was adequate for our needs.

The home was just as pictured. A beautiful property with plenty of areas to socialize or rest in solitude. We traveled as three adult couples for a kids free getaway and it was perfect! We didn’t have an opportunity to use the resort amenities so I can’t speak to those but everything we experienced was fantastic. Easy to reserve and simple check out process. Would highly recommend it!

We stayed 2 nights 3 days. Total of 5 adults and was just perfect. Had dinner first night in downtown Galena, used pool facility and pickle courts in Galena Territory. Second night we made a lovely dinner— used kitchen to its fullest along with outside grill. I would say we used every inch of the house and it was so pleasant. The surrounding area was so beautiful— I forgot how pretty it is up there. We ended our trip by stopping at Forgetaboutit Winery and had wine flights. I recommend this property and would stay again. Ginger, our host, shared great information about the area and could not have been a more pleasant person.

The house was beautiful just as described. Anything you needed or thought you forgot to pack was there for you. We cooked at the house and we didn’t need anything but the food, kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and pans you would need. Will definitely stay here again!
