Wonderful hosts! The place was well appointed and very clean. We were very comfortable during our stay!

This was the nicest place we have ever stayed in . The hosts were helpful, informative , and friendly , but never intrusive . The house has every imaginable convenience, from comfy robes ,several kinds of coffee makers ,tea & coffee, a fantastic mattress , ( the most comfortable we have ever slept on )snacks , an easy frozen meal for our first night , washer & dryer , to even paper and pens , in case one forgot to bring them !! Every item made us feel like we were in our own home . The location was great , just a few minutes from restaurants , super markets including Whole Foods & Trader Joe, small shops , drugstores , and delicious bakeries . There are spaces for two cars in the back of the house. We were delighted to find a place that checked all of our boxes and we will most certainly be back.

One of the best-stocked and most well-thought-out properties we've ever seen. Perfect for preschool-aged kids with huge playground across the street, plus things like kids' books, puzzles, step stools, kids' utensils and plates, etc. Parking in the back of the house was super convenient. Coming and going couldn't be easier. We'd love to come back!

We traveled from Florida to Chicago for Thanksgiving week. We had close friends saying about 20 minutes away and they recommended the area. This rental was absolutely perfect! It was clean, quaint, in a perfect location. We cannot say enough good things. One of the nights I wanted to cook I had messaged the property owners to see if they had a crock pot available and within 10 minutes there was a Crock-Pot right there for me to use. We feel they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We absolutely hope to go back again someday.

My family stayed in Jim and Crystal's house for 3 night in Evanston and Chicago for college search. Everything went beyond our expectations. The rooms are big, super clean. Have tons of things prepared for guests. Everything you need at home or goes to beach, they have things for you. Beach bags, beach towels, beach chairs, bug spray, sunscreen, you name it; and beach passes for 4 as well; disinfection wipes, hand sanitizers; If you prefer cooking, they were tons of condiments in the pantry. there were different types of cookwares and utensils etc. You want to cook rice, you can find rice cooker; you want to cook lobster, you can find a big pot. all cookwares look so new. Jim and Crystal were so thoughtful hose. There were a lot food/snack/battle water prepared. If you need extra beds, there were at least two very sturdy airbeds. The laundry room in the basement also has everything (even more than you may need) The garden was relaxing place for my family as well. Tons of plants with name tags. So educational for garden lovers. If you need moving staffs, there were two wagons in the backyard where you park your cars. There were Folding Trolley Dolly Carts you can use if go groceries stores which are very nearby. If you don't want to cook, Jim and Crystal provided bunch of take-out menus from restaurant around which was very helpful for us. Jim and Crystal were super nice. Crystal even used her professional knowledges to help me for an issue I had with an offer for house purchase I was making while I was traveling (for sure I approached to her for her advises). My kids said Jim and Crystal's house was better than my own house and we ALL love it so much. We will definitely stay again if visit the area.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this property in Evanston. It was clean, well stocked, and spacious. It is conveniently located about 1 mile from the train and from bars, restaurants, and shopping. We’d love to stay here again! It was perfect.

Ginger and Jim are lovely hosts and were so kind to our family and little kids. This was by far the best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in. So we’ll-equipped and easy to live in. They’ve thought of every detail. also a beautiful neighborhood! We will for sure be back :)

We enjoyed our stay, had everything we needed and we were completely comfortable. We appreciated the decor of multicultural items and original paintings, and the backyard garden is beautiful. The thoughtful snacks left on the table were eagerly consumed by our always hungry teens. Thank you for a very satisfying stay.

The property was perfect. We just moved in with our luggage and everything else was supplied. It was the nicest rental we have ever used. It was nice to have items in the kitchen available so we didn't have to run out for coffee or sugar for the next morning. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Would recommend it for anyone going to Evanston for any Northwestern events!

It's cute, clean and filled with literally everything you might think of. I wish I could live there. Simply fantastic.

This property is he done and immaculately clean. Our house anticipate your every need. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully equipped. Lovely artwork and artifacts throughout. Great location with parking. We can’t wait to return.

This was the second time we stayed at 1500. We stayed first for a week while we explored Evanston to see if we wanted to move here. A year later we stayed for a month while our Evanston home was painted. The hosts are friendly and attentive; the home is clean and comfortable with a well set up kitchen. It's a wonderful place to "home base" or hide out in the Evanston area.

Lovely, aesthetically remodeled historic home. Spacious , loads of light both natural and lamp-lit. Perfect kitchen with special treats. Great beds. Easy access.

Our family spent Christmas at Ginger and Jim’s lovely home and cannot recommend it enough. They were the most gracious hosts, always around to answer questions or make us feel at home but respected privacy. The home was fully stocked with everything you could need. Jim even brought us a ‘fake fire’ to put in our homemade chimney for Santa. We were able to walk to our favorite spots (HoosierMama, Penny Park and the train station - we had two little boys who thoroughly enjoyed train watching - among others!). We highly recommend this lovely home as your home base in Evanston. We will definitely be back!

This is the second time I've stayed at this property, and still really enjoy it. Was warm and toasty even with the first snowfall in chicago. Loved the newly upgraded bed and linens. I will be back again.

Wonderfully kept, very clean, in a beautiful neighborhood with easy access to shopping areas. Ginger and Jim left a vase of flowers in the kitchen for my birthday and made everything super easy, including supplying basic food staples and ample cookware for the kitchen. All instructions for plumbing/tv/kitchen/etc were clear and easy to follow. My parents had a great time visiting!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ginger and Jim’s rental. We booked 6 months in advance so we had the benefit of being mailed a beautiful and complete House Manual with pictures and passwords and the historical reference of the house. We enjoyed off the street parking, walking through the fairy light lit gardens which is like a mini botanical gardens. Both bedrooms are on the top floor with windows on to the street. I travel for business so I always bring earplugs which worked here too :) Not a great deal of traffic on the weekends or weekday just we live in the sticks at the end of a cul-de-sac with no traffic. Loved the Giordano’s Pizza delivery, and the Valli’s supermarket. Not so much the 7-11 which was the nearest convenience store (but was not recommended) our slip up. We will be back I’m sure over the next years while our student is in college. Thanks for all the comfortable furniture and details. This home was better equipped than our house :)

Our group had a wonderful time here while attending a nearby conference. I only wish I had spent more time at the house--it is a beautiful place to stay.

Our family of 4 absolutely loved our stay with Jim and Ginger. Their home felt like a real home. From the beautiful garden, to the comfy beds, to the milk that was waiting in the fridge for our tired kids getting off a red-eye, Jim and Ginger added so much warmth to our stay in Evanston. We would definitely stay there again in the future and highly recommend to anyone in the area.

We are a family of 5 visited Northwestern University and we chose to stay in this great house since it was well rated. To our nice surprise, it was better than 5 star, if I were able to give a 7 star review. Ginger and Jim treated us like his family, and there were so many small details that delighted us, and the list of such is long, for example, they label every details things, and they have every single details in the Magazine. We went to the Great Lake of Michigan to swim as my youngest son wanted to do, and we found out they Ginger and Jim have the beach passes and we got it with a surprise like a gift. We would definitely recommend anybody to stay here, and if we come back to Chicago/Evanston, we would come back and stay a few more days.

Comfortable home in a very walkable neighborhood. Quick 10 minute walk to grab morning coffee/dinner or to the L. Short UBER ride to Northwestern campus. Good place to stay during peak NU events. Jim and Ginger stocked the home with anything a guest might need. They were very accommodating and great at communicating before and during our stay but not at all intrusive (kinda sad we never met in person). We would definitely consider staying here again if ever in Evanston.

Our best VRBO experience to date! Perfectly equipped, great layout, excellent location. The owners have definitely thought of this property from a guest’s perspective, and it shows. Everything is easy to use, supplies are ample, and instructions are simple. We were in town for Christmas with our Aunt, who lives nearby. The place was decorated tastefully, and we were even able to cook Christmas dinner without buying utensils & pans. Stay here!! (But I hate to recommend, because I want it all for myself!!).

This is the best set up and most well equipped place we have stayed away from home. We have stayed at a few different rental properties and this one is the nicest and most well thought out for it's guests. Beyond loved it!!!!
