This property was the perfect escape for our daughter’s wedding week. Everything was amazing. The grounds and pool were spacious and relaxing. The beautiful fruit trees were an added bonus. Wendy and Chick were the most gracious hosts and the home had everything we needed. Plus, the beds were beyond comfortable. An amazing getaway to enjoy Santa Barbara.

We spent most of our stay out in the backyard enjoying the lovely gardens, the variety of singing birds, gazing at the stars at night, and the pool and spa. The pool was very refreshing. The location is fairly private and the neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen is well stocked, we enjoyed cooking and eating meals together in the home. Wendy and Chuck are really gracious hosts, they helped us out when we needed it, they share the bounty of their flourishing garden and fruit trees. We had a very relaxing stay and would choose to stay again in the future. The home is surprisingly roomy, there was plenty of space for our family. I can vouch for the master bedroom bed, which was really comfortable! Thank you, Wendy and Chuck, for making this lovely property available for others to enjoy.

This home was the perfect place for our family to stay for a week. The house is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need to feel at home. The yard is a stunning botanical garden and as others have mentioned, there is a mature fruit orchard which we were encouraged to enjoy. Fresh squeezed orange grapefruit juice and lemonade were all fan favorites. The location can’t be beat (walking distance to botanical gardens, close to downtown SB). Wendy and Chuck, our hosts, we’re extremely accommodating, responsive, and just all around good people. Needless to say, when we’re back in town, this is the where we’ll be staying.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Poolside. Wendy was a great host and very helpful. We especially loved the pool and hot tub. The grounds were lush and filled with flowers and fruit trees. We had a wonderful stay.

Very quiet location. The backyard pool and spa are fabulous!

We came to this house for a quick weekend from LA with another family. The 8 of us were very happy. The kitchen had everything you needed and then some. The pool was delightful. Aside from the record breaking heatwave that weekend it was a success and we would come back.

We loved staying at the property. Feels like our own private oasis away from everything. Wendy, as always, is friendly and helpful. House is big and clean, and the backyard is amazing. I'm sure we will be back again soon.

My review is a bit biased because had to leave 5 days earlier for an emergency situation and got zero refund. I understand this is business as usual but some humanity and less regard for money would have been appreciated, specially on difficult circumstances. In any case, this listing is not what it looks like. First, the owner lives in the house next door; while some renters don’t mind, we do as we like full privacy; this was not disclosed. Second, the house has no AC and in summer days you do need it. Third, the house is old and outdated; if you like grandma style, you will be fine, but if you value modernity, this is not your house. The outdoors are nice, pool is good, house architecture cool, but road is next to the house and does not feel quiet or isolated enough. In summary, it’s a fine rental for half the price. At the premium rate they are charging this is not a good deal. They should lower the price or fix all issues above.

We chose this property as it had a lovely pool, 4 bedrooms and was close to the SB Woman’s Club, the location of a family wedding. The rental process was very simple, communication was great, and it was wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy the sunny days!

Even in the midst of all the beauty of Santa Barbara, this is a very special property. Lovely and bountiful (so much citrus!) gardens and has a very nice pool. The house is large, the kitchen is well-stocked and is was very comfortable for our group of friends. Thank you Wendy and Chuck!

Renting from Wendy is super easy. She’s helpful and communicates well. The property was just what we wanted and exactly as the pictures showed. My kids loved the pool. My wife and I relaxed in the garden. It was super close to restaurants, grocery stores and the botanical gardens. We will be going back soon!

Marvelous! Tons of space inside and out, the Hourglass was stocked with everything we needed for a family getaway, very comfortable, and adorably retro and funky while still feeling luxurious. The pool is gorgeous and clean, and great for our kids who are learning to swim. Wendy & Chad were very welcoming, ultra responsive and friendly hosts, but never intrusive. Located in a wonderful neighborhood right next door to the fabulous botanical garden and just a few minutes drive from everything else. Absolutely nothing we would have changed, we had a fantastic time and would come back in a heartbeat if the fates allow! Thank you, Wendy!!

Wendy and Chuck are exceptional hosts, have intimate knowledge of Santa Barbra and can recommend great hikes, restaurants and shopping. The property was clean, even though they allow pets there was no odor at all. The garden is absolutely beautiful!! You can pick your choice of citrus from any tree, which was great for cocktails or breakfast. The backyard was so serene that my husband and I spent the first entire week relaxing back there instead of exploring around the town. I highly recommend Poolside for family gatherings or visits with friends.

The owners made wonderful suggestions for activities and ease of check-in and getting in and out of the property was wonderful. Easy access to the old Mission and downtown SB. The house is absolutely lovely and even bigger than the photos suggest. There was tons of room for our 8 person family group. As well as the pool, there is a terraced garden full of fruit trees. The house is very well equipped, from the kitchen to the living room with toys. The location is excellent, a short drive to the beaches and downtown. We enjoyed the short walk past the fire station to a local park and playground. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved every moment.

Great rental for the family wedding gathering. The pool and garden were lovely - location and setting spectacular. Will rent again
