Rooms were great had toaster, jug and sink which is unusual for a hotel. Great Bar also.
Parking was a major problem. They have a parking building that they recommend but unless you are driving a Toyota corolla don't bother you will get stuck or damage your vehicle. No other solutions provided. If you have a vehicle stay somewhere else.

The beds were wonderful. The staff very helpful.
Curtains need renovating. Rooms could do with a bit of revamping.

Love the breakfast and the view bed was comfortable.
Our bathroom smell, there was no air in the room or a fan to get rid of the smell.

Room was dirty (dust and hair on main desk) and clumps of hair in the swimming pool on both days. Nowhere to store clothes flat ( hangers but no clothes drawer )

Rydges is in an excellent location in the city, close to the stadium and the harbour. The swimming pool, gym and sauna were lovely. We loved having a good restaurant downstairs for dinner.
The beds are not very comfortable. If you are tall, you can't straighten your legs.

Convenient location. The room was nice and the staff where friendly.
Disappointed with the aircon in the room. The room was hot and the aircon did not work properly, even after someone came and had a look.

The buffet breakfast was poor and the coffee attendant was rude and didn't care about customer service.
25 minutes for a decent coffee was acceptable when he was busy just talking to his mates

The rooms were clean. It’s very handy to the waterfront and beehive and train station and a short walk to Te Papa

Buffet breakfast was an added bonus to our stay!
Would have been a 10/10 if the hot tub was available. Will make sure to bring cookware with me next time!

the half view of the sea was nice.
what the HECK is up with the frosted glass wall that separates the room from the bathroom !!!!!! I didn’t enjoy watching the silhouette of my husband using the toilet very enjoyable. Seriously?? the most insane thing I’ve experienced in a hotel that cost over $400 for the night. also we ordered 4 bottles of water, took two reminder phone calls and when the room server showed up, she only had 1 bottle and told us the hotel had run out of water…what the ?!?!? No parking when you check in, had to drive around the block multiple times until the bizarre loading bay was free on the road side. Won’t be rebooking here.

The staff were very helpful, especially when the chrome casting was not working on the TV. Liked the distillery products in the shower. Room was comfy. Enjoyed the pool and the sauna

Breakfast buffet was a bit average. Not much fresh fruit and the baked beans were a bit weird tasting. Like they had made their own or something.

Breakfast Sunday morning was a shocker, coffee machines out of order, staff wanted to charge me $5 for one from another machine. No tables. Bath had chips in it, room was meant to be a superior definitely wasn't.

Hotel was fantastic. Nz not so much. Very dangerous, lots of people abusing others, lots of violence seen and street fighting. Lots of abuse towards people at any time of day.
