We want to thank Alessandro and his staff for a wonderful time at Porta di Castro.
We were looked after and all staff went over and above what we expected. We loved the breakfast and our comfortable room. Thanks for guiding us in and around Palermo and making our stay a happy one. Thank you for the beautiful Sicilian basket, it was much appreciated. We would highly recommend staying here.

Everything went well! From the arranged pickup from the airport to the taxi back again everything was good. The style of the hotel is engaging and original, the breakfasts are magnificent and the pool is a delightful extra.

The service was great everyone was so nice and welcoming. We really appreciate the kindness and warmth of everyone that works here and the host especially.
The design of the place was phenomenal, the spa is made of dreams and it is gigantic. It is absolutely worth it!
Upon arrival we received a welcoming snack. (Thank you again it was si tasty!)
The breakfast was fantastic and there was so much food you could never finish it. There was a mix of fruits and sweet pastries but also savoury additions eggs, ham, salami etc. (My favorite was the ginormous pistachio croissant.)
In our room there were also snacks and drinks available.
The location is amazing everything you need is close by and the trainstation too.
I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
I can only mention minor issues that got resolved immediately and got taken care of in such a nice way that I wouldn't pay it all too much attention. But just because it's something that's always important to me personally at any stay: It was written that for our room we were supposed to have a water kettle because I'm a coffee lover and I would've loved to have that available. But upon request we received one immediately. The coffee I got from a grocery store nearby.

What a charming place! Right in the heart of one of the oldest parts of Palermo, this really felt like the "real deal"! Lovely lady at reception, and kind owner were on hand with help and advice in outstanding English. The building is very ancient, but beautifully renovated in quirky modern style, preserving as much of the old building as possible. I was offered fresh fruit and sweet treats on arrival, and was shown to my delightful room, which was ready for early check-in. Absolutely super, and I hope to return!

Hotel decor is impressive. Staff is super friendly and helpful, upon check-in, they took the time to share tips & useful information about the city which was a nice touch. The room was stunning and again, decor was absolutely impressive.
Breakfast was delicious, many many options and staff was super warm as always. One thing I’d suggest is to ask us what we’d like to eat instead of serving us lots & lots of pastries and bread that we won’t necessarily eat. again, the food was delicious, but it would’ve been nice to have cold cuts (cheese ham salame etc) available so we could make our own little sandwich.

this is a B&B, it was advertised as a 4 star hotel. no 24 hour concierge. they consistently ask for cash only and even asked us to say we never arrived so they don’t need to pay fees to booking.com
surrounding areas is loud and stinks. they need double glazed windows.

Very boutique and quirky. great design and elevator which you wouldn't always get in this type of townhouse property.
Staff are amazing very friendly and helpful.
There is no baby changing area and the toilet is small in the communal area. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but because of flight diversion we ended up hanging around after check out.

The hotel is really quirky which I like and the couldn’t have been better. The staff and the owner are so nice and friendly. They’re there to help you with everything you need and more.

The hotel is located just yards from local restaurants, cathedral etc. the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is a feast so be prepared.

The room at the 4th floor looked old, not like the pictures of the other rooms. The big bucket of the AC was right next to the bed and you don’t expect to see it in a 4-star hotel!(Neither in a 2star). Furthermore it was leaking all the time the AC was on making a continuously drip noise. The bathroom also was missing of some basic things like a cup to put your toothbrush and maybe having some slippers would have been nice.

The Staff were incredible and greeted me with a wonderful glass of wine and assorted desserts in the Sicilian style. The property was in a terrific location, very near the Monuments that I wanted to see.
I had a charming room in the attic, but I couldn’t stand up in the bathroom because the ceiling was too low. Still I love the room and it was quiet cool and very comfortable with a memory foam mattress on the bed.

Car/taxi service from and back to the airport was on-tome and efficient, 45 Euros each way.

Beautiful building and decoration. Perfect location. The breakfast is superb, a great combination of salty and sweet and everything you can imagine, amazing to start the day and tours. The staff is excellent, all of them are detail oriented, helpful and super nice.

Phenomenal staff, location, and breakfast. As soon as we stepped in the door, we were made to feel right at home in this lovingly curated, boutique hotel. We were provided with excellent dining and shopping recommendations, as well as ideal walking routes to tour the city. Breakfast was absolute perfection. The owner, Alessandro, has created a very special place for visitors in Palermo, and I hope to return soon.

everything! i loved the location it was perfect close walking distance to everywhere! the reception woman was welcoming and helpful.. the owner of the hotel was friendly and generous!! they welcomed us with drinks (coffee & tea) with traditional biscuits and oranges while waiting for the room, we booked a double room but the owner gave us a room with terrace ! and for the check out he offered us to take our time since it wasnt booked on the same day by other tourists! we were supposed to check out at 12 but we stayed there until 3 pm ! how kind ! i really recommend .. its also safe no one gets inside without the electronic card

I liked the location and breakfast but I was really not happy. I booked a room by looking at the photos and I paid 25 Euros more for a room which is big and has a big balcony with chairs and a table. And when I arrived to the hotel O was given one of the very small rooms which was 25 euros cheaper in their webpage. They didnt pay back anything and we slept in the small room but paid for a bigger room. So make it sure before you book it !

The location and staff were outstanding. I didn't realize breakfast was included and they accommodated my gluten free diet without advance notice. Amazing fruit platter, pastry, yogurt & the best espresso coffee drinks.

Very well decorated beautiful accommodation, fantastic service and breakfast. it was also very quiet at night, but only a five min walk to cathedral and centre of Palermo. The service is truly outstanding… they cannot do enough.

We were welcomed to this beautifully restored building by super friendly and helpful staff. A set of brothers lovingly restored it from what had been a bakery and prior to that a private chapel, and the original features sit well next to some more modern touches. The hotel is uniquely decorated with lots of interesting features. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed really comfortable. Location is also perfect. If you like sweet breakfasts this is for you – the pastries were amazing.
