The location of Lodge House was perfect, tucked away in a lovely rural location, so quiet and peaceful, but also within relatively easy reach of all locations we wanted. Neil and Kathy could not have done more for us, so welcoming and gracious. The home cooked food was delicious and the breakfast was perfect, all home cooked and some home grown and a plentiful amount that gave us a good start to the day exploring. Our hosts were helpful in providing local information and maps we could use and were most accommodating, it was a lovely stay and will return.

That we didn't have time to stay longer!

Set in a tiny village, down a tiny lane, this place is so peaceful. The cottage is pretty old fashioned downstairs but this does not reflect the rooms. I stayed in the King size deluxe at the top of the house. The room was beautifully renovated, maintaining original beams with a clean and modern interior. The tea and coffee in the room was plentiful, with biscuits etc. A smart tv enabled me to log into my Netflix account. The ensuite was modern, with a good shower. Kathy was a great host, offering me homemade cake and tea on my arrival. I highly recommend a stay here, it was great value for money.

There was an array of breakfast cereals, homemade bread and preserves which I chose not to eat, so I could save myself for the cooked breakfast but wish I had as the cooked breakfast was not enough for me, I could easily have eaten twice what was on the plate! So not really a complaint, just an observation.

Kathy & Neil were very friendly and helpful. Greeted with a cup of tea and home made cake when we arrived. Breakfast was very good, with a good choice of cereals, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast. Room was clean and comfy with plenty of room, bed large and comfortable. Location very quiet and easy to get to from the main road. Nothing was too much trouble, Kathy and Neil did a great job of ensuring we had everything we needed to have a lovely stay.

If you are particularly tall, the shower may be a small problem as the roof slants down reducing height. We had no problems though. Part of the charm of the house.

Fabulous hosts, clean comfortable rooms, lots of lovely touches, Neil and Kathy went out of their way to help us. Lovely breakfast, as much as you wanted with quality ingredients, delicious home made jams.

Breakfast very good. Lovely home-made jams. We were given tea and cake on arrival and generally made extremely welcome by the lovely Kathy and Neil. We were in the Blue room which was very comfortable.

Everything was lovely We could have stayed longer. Neil and Kathy are so knowledgable about the surrounding area. So friendly and helpful. Homemade bread, marmalade and jams superb. Lovely Filling breakfast with their own eggs and locally sourced ingredients . Room was clean and comfortable with everything you need and beautiful views to enjoy. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Nothing we didn’t like but We prefer an en- suite. But it wouldn’t stop us staying there again.

Kathy and Neil are both friendly and helpful. We usually avoid B&Bs as they can often feel like you're intruding into someone else's home. Lodge house feels like a home away from home without feeling unwelcome or awkward. The property was easy to find by following Google maps. There is so much to do in the area, we found ourselves running out of time - we will be returning! We stayed in the blue Room. The king size bed was the best night sleep we've had in months, it was quiet and tranquil. The air is fresh without smelling 'farmlike' and the water is just beautiful, pulled from a local well in the woods. Everything in our room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was wonderful with an amazing selection of local produce, jams and home baked bread, with eggs from their happy, well fed hens. In conclusion, a beautiful place to stay, fab value for money and perfect whether you're a solo traveller or a couple. (Or even a small family with just a baby, like us)

The only downside I can find about this wonderful place is that no take-aways deliver here. However, a quick car trip into Chard and we were able to pick up a cheap and easy evening meal. There are plenty of places to have a sit down meal, we were just feeling lazy after a long journey!

Kathy and Neil welcomed us to their beautiful house with warm conversation and homemade ginger cake and tea. They had plenty of suggestions for things to do locally, and we got to know country life in this picturesque area. We slept well in a beautifully appointed room with an extremely comfortable bed following a friend’s wedding celebrations at the friendly pub down the road (in walkable distance). We set off the next morning after a filling cooked breakfast, with bread and homemade jams. We would love to come back and stay longer.

What a lovely welcoming couple , breakfast was as good as it gets 10 out 10 , very quite surroundings and comfortable place.
