Overall the property was wonderful and the location was fantastic. Check-in was very easy, however originally it stated a 4pm check-in, which later changed to 5pm once we received the codes for the property. Very late check-in times but overall well worth the visit.

This home was pristine. My wife and I spent a week visiting from Philly to visit our San Diego based kids and felt like we were “home”. Zero complaints— great neighborhood. Truly lovely. HIGHLY recommend!

We had a perfect girls weekend. The house is very clean and has everything you need. The outdoor space is beautiful and relaxing. The beds are very comfortable. The neighborhood isn’t very lively, but the location is central to everything San Diego has to offer, so get out and explore. The sea kayaking and sea lions were the highlight of our trip. A close 2nd was the amazing sunset at windandsea beach!

This property is located about 2 blocks from La Jolla beach area. We enjoyed walking down to the beach to watch the surfers catch some cool waves throughout the day! Location is also close to many fine restaurants, taco bars etc. Easy access to US 5 for adventures to San Diego !

The property, and our stay, were great. Only complaint is the temps were high 70’s/80 and there is no ac so the inside got pretty warm. Clean, quiet, good location.

My parents and I had a lovely stay. There are a lot of rules as noted by the other reviews, but the house is very clean and extremely comfortable to stay in so I understand why. We would stay again.

Very happy with the house and the property manager. There is a trail in walking distance to the home which was very fun to run on-because the hills are a killer! We did not mind the rules of the home as it was well kept and we knew exactly what was required in advance. A great stay overall!

The home is in a great location, walkable to the beach and coffee shop. The outdoor setting is perfect and very relaxing. Beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a great stay. One draw back is the amount of signage in the home telling you what not to do. The furnishings are dated. The brown sofa is covered in a pilling brown sofa cover and the coffee table are covered in quilt like protectors. I felt like for all the guest expectations it would be nice if the owner provided some welcoming, user friendly furnishings. We had great communication with the owner.

The property is okay. It has good amenities outside from outdoor firepit to BBQ etc. But once you step inside the house, it is a disaster. This house is perfectly made to remind you of your high school days where every wall is covered with rules and regulations. While the owner is transparent with few of them before hand (Pre stay agreement has some clause) there are so many hidden rules and regulations. He has a complete book of it. If you book, you will believe me. As a matter of fact, if you do end up booking this place, please take insurance because owner will deduct something or the others for damanges that you did not do. He used our insurance money for no damages from our side to refurnish his house. About the owner: He is loud and foul mouthed to the best. I agree that we broke one rule where one of our local friend had come over to meet us for dinner. (Rule 101: Do not bring anyone outside of the people you mentioned on pre agreement), Our local friend was smoking cigarettes outside the house. Good 50 ft away and somehow owner recognized him (He perhaps lives in the other side of the house) and came barging in and shouted on all of us for continuous 30 mins. Considering it our mistake we let our friend go back to his home and stayed silent while he shouted on us. Owners behavior, if at all reeked of racism again Asian. He might refute this but during the pandemic we did staycation all across the Pacific coast, but never had the experience he gave us. The ordeal went on for couple of months where he deducted all our security money without any discussion or even informing. Avoid at all cost. If unavoidable, do purchase the insurance from VRBO. You will thank me later.

We had a wonderful stay at this home in La Jolla! It was perfect for our family of 4 (kids ages 2 & 4). I loved how clean everything was! The kitchen was well stocked with pretty much anything we needed. We cooked several meals during our stay. Plus they had kids plates and cups which was a nice touch! I didn’t have to worry about them breaking any dishes or buy paper plates. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms have been updated since the pictures in the listing were taken which was a nice surprise! The outside patio was great for relaxing day or evening. The location is wonderful too! Blocks from a wonderful beach and close to several good restaurants and a grocery store. Overall great home, we would return! My only complaint is that our flight came in a little earlier on the day we checked in and we couldn’t even get into the house a half hour early. I get rules are rules and it’s minor but anyone with kids knows after a long day of travel, you just want to get your kids to where you are staying! There was probably more to it than I am aware.

This was a nice property. The courtyard is stunning and the home was smalll buy comfortable. However, there were so many warnings and rules it was very hard to feel comfortable. There were 14 pages of rules we had to agree to before we could rent. Then at the home are signs everywhere of what you are not allowed to do. There was a sign on the outdoor fireplace that said we needed to be in by 10pm. The kicker was a $750 fine would be assessed if we removed the piece of paper from the outdoor fireplace. Their concerns about their property were over the top.

This house is in a great location - super close to the ocean, stores, coffee etc. Very clean but like other reviewers have said - a very strong Tide smell, we had to wash all the sheets and pillowcases the 2nd day and open all the windows and keep them open the whole weekend. Communication with the owner was great before we arrived. But when I sent a note after our stay about noisy neighbors I got no reply. There are lots of rules - which the listing is very clear about so that was no surprise. But there are also signs all over the house. Also like other reviewers have said - makes you feel a bit unwelcome and like you must tiptoe around the house and yard. Which is a shame because the front patio is super dreamy. Also very high cleaning fee for such a small house where you have to take the trash out, and strip the beds and start the laundry before you leave. We travel a lot and this is the highest cleaning fee we have ever paid. Also there are lots of rules about nighttime noise but none about morning noise and there was a neighbor who woke us up before 7am on a Friday and proceeded to spend hours on the phone outside right under our window. I wrote to the owner to let them know, and received no reply. We left the house super clean and followed all the rules but I was still worried about losing my deposit and that’s not a fun feeling. You also have to pay $100 for insurance in addition that you don’t get back! If the owners could loosen up on the rules a little, drop that insurance fee, lower the cleaning fee this would get 5 stars from us because the house and location are great!

We so enjoyed our time at this property and in this amazing town!! I absolutely loved La Jolla and Roland, the home owner, was wonderful to work with. I was here with a friend on this trip, but would also love to come back here with my husband and two young children. This home is truly a gem by the sea and there were so many wonderful places to walk to and explore. Thank you!!

We were somewhat worried at previous reviews talking about the rules at this property. Although there were a significant amount of labels and postings, I think the rules have led to this property being a clean and organized property. We rent a lot and this property is one of the cleanest and smoothly run we have been to.

We were down in the San Diego area for a horse show which means long hours. It was a pleasure to return in the evening sit by the fire and decompress. The curfew was not an issue for us since we are all so exhausted by day's end. Roland was lovely and accessible start to finish. He was clear from the beginning about the quiet neighbor restrictions which were non issues for us. The refrigerator door handle need be repaired and he worked it around our schedule. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again next time we are in town

A decent home in the wonderful area of LaJolla. Just a few blocks to Wind and Sea Beach and about a mile to commercial area of LaJolla. The interior is aging and could use some updates, but is well stocked with useful items for kitchen, bathroom, and beach. The home has a wonderful outdoor space, but it is only for quiet use and carries a strict 10PM curfew. At our age (50+), we all found management's "Rule Book" (and yes, indeed, it is a book) and signs posted EVERYWHERE to be an overbearing, finger-wagging exercise. More disappointing was the fact that, after all the admonitions to be quiet and stay indoors after 10PM, the neighborhood residents were far louder than our group and at all hours of the night and early morning. Disappointing that we couldn't be quietly outside after 10PM, but the neighbors woke us at 4:30AM. There are also many expectations as a guest: start laundry, empty trash cans, take trash out, etc.

Perfect location and beautiful home. Perfect for a family in a great neighborhood. Roland was very helpful throughout the trip. Definitely recommended staying here!!

Wonderful house + nicely kept. Our family of four had a great time there. Close enough to the beach to walk. Neighborhood is tranquil. The high point is the magical front patio, which the listing photos don't do justice. It's a really nicely conceived patio with mature tropical plants a fire pit and plenty of lounge space. Great for reading or just hanging out. The only downsides - other reviews have mentioned this but the scent of the laundry detergent or some other cleaning supplies used is STRONG in the house. We found we frequently had to open all the windows to try and clear it out. The high use of strongly worded signage, extremely high required security deposit and very aggressive evening curfew rules felt over the top to the point that it made us feel a bit under surveillance / unwelcome. This is the only reason I would not give the experience 5 stars. Otherwise we truly loved the place and would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at the vacation rental tremendously. The property was immaculate and in a prime location. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We enjoyed the fire pit on the patio at night. We would definitely stay here again!

Roland was a great host, even dropping off a cooler and swim shirt for my husband to use. The beautiful private patio was perfect place to relax before and after a day at the beach. House was comfortable, well maintained/equipped. Neighborhood nice and quiet.

Our trip was great. This house is in a perfect location, just a few minute walk to Wind and Sea Beach. The house is a little dated and there are ALOT of house rules. Make sure you read before you book about the outdoor curfew. The patio is AMAZING and we loved hanging out there. I would recommend for a family getaway for sure. The owners are really nice. We left something behind and they were very nice in getting it back to us. We hope to return again this summer. Great overall experience.

We have been coming to La Jolla for the last 10 years, and while we have enjoyed most homes we have stayed in, this home was absolute perfection in every way. As providers of luxury vacation rentals in the North GA mountains of Blue Ridge, GA, we are very particular about cleanliness, amenities, and proximity to activities. From the beautifully landscaped outdoor patio, fire table, comfortable seating and well-equipped kitchen to the most incredibly comfortable bed and pillows and quick bike ride to the beach - our stay was quite memorable and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Roland and his lovely wife who made our stay so perfect. You both work so hard to provide a most lovely Pacific getaway for people to enjoy. The property itself is clean and is as listed. However, the quantity of "ALL CAPS" aggressive notes everywhere made it difficult to feel welcome. The other concern is the smell of the bed linens and towels. The bedrooms were overpowered by scented laundry soap (we later discovered in one of the yelly notes that it was recommended to put 5 TIDE PODS in with the wash!!!). I am not usually sensitive to perfumes and neither is my husband, but we struggled to rest in the overpowering beds. My friend who is undergoing cancer treatment was unable to sleep at all and we purchased sleeping bags for them so they may sleep elsewhere in the house. We enjoyed the location and the patio, but the rest was quite unwelcoming and uncomfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. Very clean and cozy, with 3 comfortable bedrooms and all you could need in the living room and kitchen. The patio is a dream with a fire pit. 10 min walk to the beach and short drive to La Jolla cove and all the shops and restaurants around there. Highly recommended!

Nice location by the beach! Good for two couples if working from home, three couples would be a bit tight even though there are three bedrooms.
