Beautiful location, private access to jetty and water down below. Great to stay with two people. 4 would be a bit crowded. Hot water, stove, microwave, fridge, bathtub, electric fire place, heater. Everything you need. We were visited by an array of different birds and enjoyed all weather situations in our warm Bach!

This is a lovely Bach for a break-away from the busy city life. We loved this unique place and will go back there any day! Carol was a wonderful host.

Wow, I had no idea Lake Tawawera was so beautiful and what a little oasis to soak up all those jaw-dropping views!
I cannot wait to visit again already. 11/10 Recommend!

Beautiful location, walk along the lake at sunrise very speciall. Spotted a Ruru (Morepork) resting during the day at the back of the batch another highlight.

The property is perfect to get away and just relax, unplug and unwind.
The walk down to the Jetty on the lake is full of natural scenic beauty and the bird songs are so peaceful.
Carol was amazing as a host - we can’t thank her enough for her kind and generous hospitality.

A compact, tidy and warm batch set in an absolutely stunning location. The view is nothing short of amazing and the track down to a private jetty with use of a couple of kayaks was a real bonus. A truly lovely kiwi batch experience!

The property is clean and well kept. The view is AMAZING, especially if you get a good sunrise like we did. If you want to sit in the quiet listening to birdsong then this is the place for you.
The location is great, only 20 mins to town and there's plenty of trails all around the property. The property is also very clean.
The only down sides are getting in and out of the drive, especially if you have a low car, the beds were very soft for old backs and the shower didn't have any pressure unless it was on full cold.
That said, we would definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay. Very clean. Compact little 2 bedroom bach. Beautiful views of the lake. Boys enjoyed kayaking. Well equipped kitchen with salt, pepper, oil provided. Quite a few stairs down to lake ( and back up again afterwards!). Hope to return.

Comfortable little Lockwood with million dollar view. Lots to do in the area. Enjoyed the daily visits from the quail families with tiny chicks.

Very peaceful stay with tons of bird life to watch through the day. Bach had everything you needed and thankful to have the lake for a swim when it got hot.

Really lovely clean kiwi bach. Was well thought out and for the small ish space it felt like we had everything we needed. Nice outdoor area. Would recommend!

Very tidy, small bach up on the hill overlooking the lake. Our young kids managed the stairs down to the water fine. We loved our stay and especially enjoyed all the native birds. Big shout out also to the Californai Quail family just outside the front door, fantastic to watch.
We will hopefully be back one day!

Tarawera is my favourite place in the country. This wee bach has great views and a lovely deck. Clean and cosy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the batch was simple yet clean and well equipped, it was lovely to have a couple of days without Wi-Fi and in the beautiful quiet surroundings. It was so easy to use the kayaks and go out onto the lake. We would definitely love to stay here again.

Cosy wee cottage with fantastic views over the lake and Mt Tarawera. Access to the lake is an adventure down some stairs through the bush. Nice and warm thanks to the gas fire. Thanks for the warning about the water pump too! Gave us a bit of a fright. Thank you for sharing your spot with us.

The property is in a great location. The views are absolutely stunning. It is a little tricky navigating the almost hidden driveway and especially at night. But the views are worth it. The cabin easily accommodated three adults with our own beds. It was clean, tidy and comfortable. Good water and heat. The deck was fantastic! If we didn't have so much planned in and around Rotorua it would have been nice to just hang out there.

Stunning views, kayaking fun, close enough to Rotorua but far enough that you feel like you’re in another world!
The house has everything we needed and was immaculate - we hope to be back during the Summer time to get the most out of this gem of a spot!
