No air con in the unit, no tv in the unit. Not sufficient parking for the no of guests. We had to park our new rental car on the street.

Everything was perfect especially the hosts. Our 2nd time here and definitely won't be the last. Bargain for your money whanau

Hosts are a lovely couple that manage the place and very friendly. Room was clean although I don't think the bed sheets/doonas/duvets were replaced with new ones since there were a couple of long blonde strands of hair between the folds. Water pressure great and toilet was very clean. Had the 4 bed dorm room to myself which was great although still a little over my budget for a hostel price. Recommend the place as its great for travellers that don't have a car. Location is a good walking distance from the wharf where the buses are and cool bars nearby.

The price was higher than expected for a 4bed dorm that didn't include any breakfast (unsure if any type of breakfast was included) although there was a kitchen with plenty of utensils and pots to make your own food.

It’s been a pleasure to meet Andy , he has been very helpful and professional . Together with his wife they are running a business in a very popular town offering clean , comfortable and affordable accommodation, all you need to enjoy the stay . Having access to a well equipped kitchen was a bonus , thank you for your hospitality

So close to town and the beach, nicely laid out kitchen with plenty of cooking facilities. Lovely outdoor eating area under cover. Homely lounge area for relaxing. Hosts were so friendly and accommodating, even providing an area for my husband to prepare the fish he caught that day and very welcoming to our 11 year old grandsons 😊

The facilities were excellent and even the host was very friendly.

Appartement très spacieux avec 2 chambres et une jolie terrasse. Cuisine commune très bien équipée à coté de la terrasse permettant de cuisiner et prendre son repas au même endroit. Propriétaires très sympathiques et disponibles puisqu'ils nous ont attendus malgré notre heure d'arrivée tardive.

Fab location, parking on site. Access to everything you may need. Well provisioned kitchen. Comfortable bed. Free Wi-Fi. If you want a swanky hotel then this probably isn’t for you but if you want a clean, comfortable and friendly place to lay your head then we highly recommend. Special shout out to the hosts who were amazing-so accommodating; went out of their way to connect with guests and make sure everyone had what was needed. Andy and Lynne were happy to advise/recommend what to see and do and there were discounts available for local activities if you were a guest of the lodge. We had a bit of a problematic start to our stay (airline related) but Andy and Lynne were so helpful. If we get the opportunity to stay again in the future, we’ll definitely be back.

The sink was so small I couldn’t even brush my teeth without getting spray everywhere outside it. Couldn’t close the bathroom door once my suitcase was open on the floor.

Location was good but Paihia is small so most places have good location. No need to book in advance. On site parking was ok.

Very small, very dated room, but clean. Bathroom was not equipped as it should. Tiny vanity which is hard to use and mirror in wrong place and no hooks and no tower rails, however shower was good and pressure was good. Very annoying that WiFi was not working reliably from the room only outside.

I liked the hosts. They were very nice and helpful. I liked the kitchen, which was open on two sides with air coming through and had many stations. The towels and rags were changed ever so often and that´s really important. The kitchen was always clean. I liked the outside area where you could sit and eat and sometimes meet other guests. I liked the area outside your room where you could sit if you wanted to be on your own.

The location, within walking distance to beach and convenient store. The room was spacious, clean facility, helpful host.

I like the location. Not exactly in the middle of Paihia but a 10-minute walk from the center. Very quiet and calm. Restaurants nearby, ocean close. Very clean and nice kitchen. Very kind hosts.

Great Guest House with lovely staff and facilities, it was great to sit out with other holidaymakers enjoying a drink, dinner and a chat. I would highly recommend staying here, it's a minute walk to the swimming beach, 5 minute walk to resturants and bars, along with a convience store. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of town. We would definatly stay here again!

The Lodge is in a prime spot for easy walking access to town, restaurants, beach and close to all amenities

I could not fault this place

I loved my stay at the bay of island lodge and Andy and Lynne are the kindest hosts ever. The location is great, the place is very clean and the bed was one of the best I slept in for a long time. Would totally recommend staying here!

Everything was great

We had a double room which was small but cosy! The team were so welcoming and there to help. It felt very safe and was a stone’s throw away from the main road with lots of bars to explore. We took a day trip to Russell from the pier close by which we’d really recommend. Great value for money!

We had the window open as it was warm in the room which meant it was a little loud with people coming and going as we were right next to the car park.
