Very friendly, room was great and breakfast and evening meal most enjoyable. Plenty of free cool bottled water which was a nice touch particularly when the weather is hot.

Everything, the rooms, the staff, the bar, the ambience, the food, the beer, are outstanding. I cannot praise this establishment highly enough, every time I stay there I am blown away.

Staff were friendly. The decor in the room was nice, it looked like a lot had been spent on it. There were a lot of small extras. coffee machine, good soap and moisturising cream, bottled water. It looked like it had a good selection of fish dishes in the restaurant downstairs but I had already eaten so did not try any.

It was above a pub, as you can guess from the name, but the pub wasn't noisy, so in practise it did not disturb me.

Charming inn reminiscent of the old days. Wife and I had a glass of wine in the atmospheric pub below.

Very kind management! Dinner was fantastic! Because we had ferry very early, they gave us a bag with fantastic breakfast!

Lovely modern bedroom and bathroom within an old world period style buiding. Excellent full english breakfast with great mugs of coffee. Fantastic lunch, very good fresh fish dishes and quality homemade food.

We could not find fault, although, stairs might be a problem for people with mobility issues. Perfect hotel for our stay.

The homey feel hotel far away from home. Staying at ALMA was amazing. I felt so comfortable, cozy and taken care of. They helped me with my luggage, gave me extra water and was of good assistance if I needed anything urgent. Even though I showed up late for breakfast I still received it, they made me feel so relaxed and welcome. I was able to destress from a very tiring work trip so it was nice to just lean back and take a breather. I already miss staying at this cozy hotel. Even though I dont live in Harwich (I live in Spain), I would probably travel there in the near future just to visit the hotel again. The people there are the friendliest people Ive ever met and the energies at this place was fantastic. Hope to come back there one day! If you are ever in Harwich stay at ALMA - You will not regret it! :-)

Very friendly, arrived tired with our dog and were immediately made welcome.

Had to leave early for the Stena Line ferry, wish we had been able to have a proper breakfast. Would have been convenient if the restaurant had opened at 7:00

The Alma Inn was a delightful surprise. The room and bed were perfect, the staff were always helpful and the restaurant provided an excellent menu and food. I felt very well looked after from the moment I arrived until my early departure to take the ferry to the Hook of Holland.

This is a gorgeous 15th Century Inn so the stairs are steep. I had no difficulties although a member of staff carried my bags up them to my room when I arrived.
