Absolutely superb stay! Stunning view, peaceful surroundings and wonderful, helpful and delightful hosts. Breakfast was first class with an incredible variety of choices and freshness. We also stayed for an outstanding dinner both nights! There were so many thoughtful details to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

The Isle of Skye is a breathtaking place to visit and Carter's Rest was the perfect place to stay in. We spent two nights there and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, the location stunning, and to top it all off, the hosts, Simone and Jonathan are very warm, welcoming and cook delicious food!

Our second visit, this time in the house (rather than self-catering). Exceptional hosts, comfortable accommodation, and fabulous breakfasts. They also have a wonderful dinner menu (next time!) and, boy, do they know how to cook! The location is perfect for a bracing walk by the sea.

Breakfast was beautifully prepared and made to order. Location was quiet and close to scenic walking areas. View from the property (of the water and distant islands) was beautiful.

The Seagull's Nest was a perfect place to relax and a good sized space. We had everything we needed. Simone and Jonathan were amazing hosts and seem to have thought of everything. We loved it.

The location was pefect, a very short walk to the sea, breakfast exceptional and the evening meals we had were as good as local restaurants. Lovely friendly hosts who offered advice about where to visit during our stay and we are glad we took their advice .

We absolutely loved our four night stay at Carter’s Rest. Simone and Jonathan are such warm, lovely and welcoming people and could not have done anything more to make our stay completely comfortable and relaxing. Greetings from Emma their gorgeous golden Labrador by way of a wagging tail was a real delight too! The breakfasts are genuinely worthy of 5 stars- there are even views over a bay and of a waterfall off a clifftop into the sea while dining. We chose to have our evening meals there as well which were all truly excellent. Being able to ‘stay put’ and relax rather than venture out for a meal was a rare and wonderful bonus and helped us both kick into holiday mode straight away. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and would love to come back. Thank you Simone and Jonathan!

Sky sports, fantastic sunsets, stunning location- quiet, few houses nearby.

Be prepared to drive to the ‘tourist spots’ and plan for single track roads with passing places. Travelling through Skye can take time when driving off the main roads

While the property is awesome and the view is amazing the hospitality is even better! Johnathan and Simone are unbelievable hosts and do everything they possibly can to ensure the stay is memorable. We also hadn’t booked anywhere for dinner early enough and as it turns out this was great news because it allowed us to eat at Carters Rest where the food was soooo good and they are accommodating to any dietary requests. Really a fantastic stay and couldn’t recommend more!

Simone and Jonathan were truly wonderful hosts. Carters Rest is located in a beautiful and part of Skye...the extra drive is definitely worth it! We booked dinner on our first night, which was amongst the best evening meal we had on our two weeks in Scotland. The breakfast were equally fantastic...all freshly cooked to order. The view from the dining area was amazing, great for watching the glorious sunsets. We stayed in Sea Gull's Nest Apartment which was really spacious and well equipped, with lots of welcoming touches

The view was incredible, the breakfast was amazing, dinner very good and Simone and Jonathan are amazing, friendly and helpful. The room was superb and clean, and the living room is great with that wonderful view. Their dog is very nice and the cat so funny. We really enjoyed our time there 😊

Carter’s Rest is situated in a beautiful, remote part of the Isle of Skye. It was spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble for the amazing hosts. They were warm and friendly and gave us good advice for our days out. We couldn’t fault it- I’d thoroughly recommend it.

Our stay was lovely! We were warmly welcomed by Simone and Jonathan upon our arrival and they took excellent care of us throughout our stay. They are very gracious hosts and everything about the way they hosted had a personal touch. The place has beautiful views and is very cosy and the food was great too. I would highly recommend it!

The hosts were very hospitable, friendly and helpful, the house was very clean and modern with good facilities, it is a remote location but the drive there was lovely with amazing scenery and you get used to the single track roads. The breakfast was good as was the evening meal that we had.

They have a lovely lounge and conservatory and although we were there in August it was a bit chilly so would've been nice if the coal fire had been on in the evenings, also would've been better if we able to put the heating on in our room,

My wife and I spent two nights at Carter's Rest during our visit to Skye, and everything about our stay was fantastic. Jonathan and Simone were great hosts, welcoming us with open arms and providing great recommendations on things to do and see. The property has beautiful ocean views that can be enjoyed in the common area, which is equipped with a bunch of windows and a cast iron wood stove to keep cozy and warm. The bedroom and the bed were very comfortable and the Scottish soaps in the bathroom were a really nice touch. We ate in the B&B a couple of times, and found a lot of variety of high quality local foods. We would love to come back and visit for a longer stay in the future!

An incredible experience, with such warm and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was perfect - with fresh homemade bread, haggis, black pudding, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc., etc. - as were the views from the table. As I said at the time, this B&B will be in the top five in the world next year.
