John and Sheri have created a delightful vacation experience. The house is beautiful, well appointed, and in a lovely neighborhood ideal for walking and quick access to anything you may need. We found SB and the house to be the zen we desperately needed and are already talking about our return next year. They provided a book of recommended sights and eating venues that were spot on - we were never disappointed in any of their recommendations. If needed, John and Sheri quickly responded to any question we sent their way. You will not be disappointed staying with these great hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wyola House in January 2022. John and Sheri arranged a wonderful welcome basket for us and our Boston Terrier and promptly responded to any questions or concerns. The property was just as listed, in a quiet, walkable Santa Barbara neighborhood, within minutes of beach, local coffee and bakeries, grocery (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods), Hendry Beach (great for dogs) or just a relaxing beach walk. We met several neighbors (and their pets) during our morning walks. It was better for us to park on the street right in front of the house for easier access than to risk using the driveway (it's as harrowing as the listing says). The view of the mountains from the living room is spectacular, almost like a painting. The gas fireplace (we used it nearly every morning and evening) and the cozy couch and chairs were wonderful. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Very nice washer/dryer and updated primary bath. Our dog enjoyed the private backyard and sunny patio. The windows are fragile as the listing mentions and a few dusty screens, but nothing terrible. We hope to stay again soon!

Owners know how to host guests. Snacks and basic food items when you show up so 1st night you can chill and don’t need to go out. A bottle of wine chilling. Location great for walking to restaurants. Neighbors and neighborhood are very friendly, with lots of hellos and neat yards.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully renovated home. In addition to enjoying the comfortably furnished indoor spaces, because the weather was unseasonably warm for November, we were able to read and relax on the peaceful furnished patio and the front porch. The view of the mountains from the porch is a bonus. John and Sheri are very responsive and the minor issues that came up were quickly resolved. We have stayed in many rental properties and agree that the house is exceptionally well equipped and the "house warming" gifts over-the-top. Perhaps most importantly, the beds are very comfortable - just what Goldilocks would want: not too hard and not too soft. My back was very very happy!

Really comfortable house including an enclosed yard which our cocker spaniel found fascinating, and where we spent time grilling and reclining on the lounges. Sheri and John were wonderful hosts who volunteered excellent advice on the local restaurants and places to hang out. We were greeted by Sheri with over the top “house warming” gifts of food and drink. We rent vacation homes often and have simply never experienced such warmth and generosity. The area is fun, filled with a number of good restaurants yet far enough away from the main touristy area of SB, that we felt like locals. This is an exceptional place to stay for a relaxing getaway. One thing to note is the driveway, which is a bit narrow and could be considered challenging absent care and focus. However the check in instructions alerted us to this, hence no problems. We would absolutely enjoy returning to John and Sheri’s home next time our travels find us in the area. Many thanks

I had the pleasure of staying in their home for one month, their attention to details… breakfast foods in the refrigerator were much appreciated since I was diverted to an airport several hours away and did not arrive until late in the evening; phone call to remind me about street cleaning day because it was a $50 fine if the car was left on the street ; keyless entry and security system programmed specifically for me - I felt safe as a single woman...were amazing. Tried to be specific to give you an idea of the care and thoughtfulness, the hosts provide for their rental / deserve more than 5 stars. I would definitely stay there again.

This house was perfect for our annual visit to Santa Barbara for a two week stay to visit family. Everything was very clean and the amenities provided were excellent and very complete. The location is one of the best in town. John and Sheri were great hosts and we are looking forward to our visit next year.

My mom and I had a lovely time at John and Sheri's home. The neighborhood is so charming and beautiful, and I enjoyed taking long walks every day admiring all the gorgeous old homes at every turn. The house couldn't be in a better location--walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shops with a Gelsons and Trader Joes less than 5 minutes away. The house has all the amenities you could possibly need, and was set up really well to work remotely during part of my stay. The huge backyard with a brand new BBQ was also a plus. John was great about checking in during our stay to make sure everything was going ok, and the personal touches like a lovely gift basket waiting for us when we arrived were above and beyond. We can't wait to come and stay again!
