On first impression, the Matrix is beautiful. It has lovely gathering spaces and is in a gorgeous setting in the marina. It was peaceful and relaxing EXCEPT there was no hot water for 3 out of 5 days of our stay and no one available to fix the issue over the weekend. The only means of communication was via email and sometimes it would be hours before we received a response. This was extremely stressful not being able to talk with a person, not receiving timely information nor to be provided with a solution until the fourth day. At that point, we were advised that we could use the marina facilities for showers, but no directions as to where or how to access these were provided. In addition, in the King size bed/bedroom, the wooden slats that supported the mattress were unstable and would collapse. Fortunately, the person staying in that room was single and could use the other side of the bed. Finally, in one of the bathrooms, bubbles would back up through the shower drain when the toilet was flushed. So if you are willing to brave cold showers, unstable bed support and a lack of responsiveness, then I would recommend this place. It was a nice space. (Oh, none of us could figure out how to use the microwave or stove/oven either.) We booked through VRBO but it is managed by Altido. I would not recommend Altido. At this point they have offered us a 5% discount off our stay (around $350). It doesn't seem much compared to the inconvenience/frustration we experienced.

We were a group of 10 and this was an amazing way to all stay together and do something totally different than the normal hotel stay. EVERY person loved the boat. We had a couple of issues with the showers, but overall it was fabulous!! Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

I can accept that the property looks more "tired" IRL than it does in the photos. After all, it is a houseboat and life on the water can be tough. But it is marketed as "luxe" and it just... wasn't. The property managers were responsive, and I was impressed that they wanted to know our arrival time so that we could be met, welcomed, and receive an orientation. At the last minute they called to say we must use self check-in because they had to go check out a different property, which is odd given that the property is managed by a company (no other colleagues were available?. Interesting... we did not receive a "check out" experience.) The kitchen was very nice but poorly stocked. Even with the warning about slow wifi, we were not prepared for how slow internet access would actually be. Will we stay here again? Yes, if the other property we've used is unavailable.
