Room wasn’t ready for checkin time, waited over an hour for check in. Said they would discount my valet parking by $10 … eventually got into the room and was told parking would be taken care of. then at checkout tried to charge me full price for valet

Room was very clean and spacious; staff were very friendly. Lots of hot water and water pressure.

We were there with our mother who needed a wheel chair accessible room. Upon arrival at 3:00 PM the room was not ready and took 30 minutes after official check in time (3:00 PM) before they allowed us into our room even though they had said it had been pritorized the day before as we called to let them know our mother needed to get into the room as soon as possible. We understand not having an early Check in available, however, not having the room available after the designated check in time is intolerable. When we asked for a manager we were told there would not be anyone there until the day we checked out (two days later). The room itself was not very wheelchair accessible as it was narrow in areas, even the table in the room was a high top table with stools, not one someone with a wheelchair would be able to utilize. We are extremely disappointed with the room and the service.

Good stay at the Hollis. Spacious one bedroom suite which suited our family. Great location to waterfront activities. Kids loved the pool.

Firstly, the front desk staff is excellent. The hotel is nice and clean. We had a suite. Lots of room, comfortable, and clean. Minor annoyance- 4 guests and only 3 towels. We had to valet park the car, the valet was great- a little slow as there was only 1 person and the cars are parked at a private lot across the street. Never really an issue. We had breakfast at their restaurant . Mediocre at best. Our server was lovely. The food was very standard. The latte was just about the worst I’ve ever had. For me, a hotel must stick the landing on all coffee and coffee products. Overall- great staff. Comfortable decent hotel. Nothing luxurious (but that is reflected in the price). Don’t bother with the restaurant.

The location of this hotel couldn’t be beat. It was walkable to the Halifax boardwalk. The room was spacious and had an amazing view. It was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Halifax. I’m so grateful I chose it.

There is no Parking available except the Valet. However, this is a quiet downtown with loads of street parking and access to many amenities.

The only complaint I would have is that the walls are paper thin - in our unit and into the neighbours. No sound barrier at all. Otherwise the place was beautiful, the staff were spectacular and the location was perfect.

Great spot if you are travelling with kids.

The registration parking is aweful, we could pee around the base of our toilet. Very congested area, lots of construction around, close to Wharf and Museum and Pier 21

Nice hotel, large rooms and prime location.

This was a nice hotel and the price was not bad for the nice location in the heart of downtown. It was close and walkable to the waterfront, restaurants and places to visit. It was our first visit to Halifax and the location was very convenient. We loved the city. Parking is not onsite but they have valet parking. Although it was a bit of a messy situation since the front of the hotel is right on a main street and does not have its own drive in area. However, you can park on the near parking site yourself or the valet could do it (not much a of difference on the price - not included on the room price). The staff and the valet were very accommodating. We had a little suite which was very roomy and clean. We loved the shower, which surprisingly had a really good flow considering many hotels don't. Overall excellent place to stay.

Overall good value for money

We have stayed at a few hotels in Halifax and this was by far one of our favorites. Nice pool, clean room, helpful staff and very accessible.

Staff was great! Fully reno’d room. Nice facility and as close as it gets to the harbour. The windows are old and thin so downtown was a bit loud. The pullout couch was only love seat size.
