This is a three star hotel and met all expectations.
Really great staff - super helpful and friendly.
Clean comfortable rooms - note no AC if staying in summer, good heating in winter. Easy free parking on site.

Room was fine but breakfast was not good. No choice of eggs ….. only fried eggs which were like dry rubber ….. inedible!!

Nice clean and comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Price is on the high side given the limited facilities, location and small room but otherwise very good, with an excellent breakfast. No fridge in the room but that appears to be common in British hotels

Perfect from arriving half hour before check-in time and taking in a quick sandwich in the bar, to a lovely clean comfortable room (236), very quiet stay to a fantastic, beautifully prepared buffet breakfast before leaving after our one night stay...would definitely stay again if in the area.

As ever a lovely stay at the Birch Hotel. I was staying on business so a good breakfast choice as well as evening dining is important and the Birch scores highly on both.
There is plentiful parking, a great bar, the team are very welcoming and the rooms are spacious and very well appointed.
Would happily recommend for business or leisure. As a lone female traveller I felt safe and welcomed here.

Very welcoming staff on reception. The receptionist explained where our room was. Very clean room, and bathroom lovely white soft towels.
Lovely dinning area where you had a buffet breakfast, which was very good. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends

Very convenient location to hospital and garage. Staff polite and helpful. Rooms excellent. Highly recommend especially if you've an early start across the road.

Love the cleanliness and cozy environment of the hotel. But i guess it is an old building so the sound can penetrate the wall easily - you can easily hear people chatting in the communal area on the floor below and in the hallway, thus had to ask the receptionist to kindly remind other guests (it was midnight already).

We had a two night stay at The Birch. The staff were friendly, room clean but close to busy road with a lot of traffic. We had a meal on the first night. It was excellent. Very well cooked and tasty. It is an old hotel that has been well updated. I would recommend it.

First the clerk wanted to take our passports which is a big NO!! Then no plugs for breathing machine near the bed!!! Room was cold and then the shower was hotter than hell! I would not recommend nor would I ever stay there again!!

Booked as attending a wedding nearby that began at 11am and went until late at night. Staff were so accommodating; I was able to check in early which was really helpful. Room was clean and modern, bed was comfortable, shower pressure and temperature were great. I didn’t eat but breakfast looked nice. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

Everything was fine apart from the room was cold when we arrived. I then turned on the radiators but the central heating obviously wasn't switched on as that made no difference, even the heated towel rail didn't work. I think they probably switch of the heating on a specific date rather than going by the actual weather.

Very comfortable, quiet and efficient. Everything worked well. Loved the warm barthroom and lots of hot water. Easy to use shower.
