Stay was very comfortable, staff are very friendly and helpful, views over Johannesburg amazing and convenience of being connected to shopping center with some shops amazing and small but comfortable and lovley pool area.

The location of the hotel is fantastic and it connects to the mall. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good.

Property is connected to the mall, so everything is right there. Rooms are small but efficient, my room was located directly over the music area, so it was a bit challenging late in the evening. Staff was great!!!

It was a great hotel and just being in the motherland was a great experience. I love everything about it. Hotel rooms, breakfast in the Lucé restaurant was excellent.

A short two nights stay at the Southern Sun Hotel in central Cape Town at the end of our cruise. Had to wait a long time to be taken to our room so we left our luggage in the hotel store and went to the seafront until late afternoon which was very nice. Had a nice snack in the evening in the lovely hotel bar. Didn’t get much chance to use the pool as it was evening time and quite dark. Would love to visit this hotel again in the future.

The internet frequently malfunctions, and my phone consistently fails to connect with Housekeeping, Concierge, and Front Desk. Despite my repeated requests to the front desk, I stayed here for eight nights in a room with a subpar view – initially facing the mall parking lot and later overlooking the restaurant's roof.

What i liked was the mall that was attached, the pool area with the DJ,the staff was amazing, they were very professional.
What i did not like was the lighting in the room is HORRIBLE! I also dont like carpet on the floor

I totally enjoyed my stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful...the room was very clean, nice and comfortable...I felt like I was at home away from home. The cost to stay at the hotel was very competitive also, and of course I like the location as it's in a very safe neighborhood

I used to love this hotel, so Central and practical with easy access to Hyde Park shopping centre, but the service has gone down so much. Not nice, no efforts, I won’t be back.

Hotel is fine just needs a bit more attention to cleanliness. Gym was not stocked with water and needs tidy more regularly. Location is very convenient.

Great location and access to the mall. They had no power in the rooms so was failing to do my conference calls for 4 days because I could not charge my laptop. Albeit the power cuts in SA they should have provisioned for this risk.

The property looked extremely old and warn out. The room smelt plus had stains on the carpet.
The facilities at the hotel were very limited. It really felt like Southern Sun were in the process of closing this hotel

Nice to comeback to this very good hotel. Good located for business trip within Johannesburg and the surrondings. Quite even if it´s next door to a mall.
Very good food.
Only negative thing is that my expensive earphones were stolen during the visit. Don´t know when and where but clearly inside the hotel

Covid 19 was making its way to South Africa at the time of the trip. The staff and management were very diligent in offering sanitizers in reception areas, elevators and restaurants. Buffet was switched to ordering personal meals. Fruit, cheese platters etc were offered in individual portions, covered in plastic wrap. Hotel room was comfortable with nice linens. Hotel attached to mall, very convenient. All staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

It was great this time around ( my 3rd stay) - I was given an increased Wifi allowance which served my requirements. Breakfast/Location/Amenities are all fantastic. Will come back again.

Hotel is outdated. Being located in Hyde Park, I expected more. Room was small and lighting in the room was poor. Bright light was that the breakfast was pretty good and staff was very helpful and pleasant.
