The hotel concept is very nice, and fits to honeymoon vacation. The food was great, the best food I eat in Sri Lanka, the chef, and the restaurant team where helpful, and fit themself to us. The uncomfortable thing is that there is no a/c system in the room, and it’s really hard to sleep with the bugs and mosquitoes that gets into the room. Although it’s hotel that promote wellness, choosing a/c should be the customer choose. Thanks for the all Santani team, made wonderful job.

I had some spa treatments, which were fabulous, and the morning and evening yoga sessions were enjoyable, too. The design of the hotel is incredible. Its simple and unpretentious but elegant. Design-wise, its one of the most beautiful hotels Ive ever seen. I cant wait to return.

The whole experience at this hotel is unbelievable! From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty. A cold towel is given to you upon arrival. Then you are given tea while you wait a moment to talk to the chef about your personalized meals. Yoga, spa services and hiking are readily available. The rooms are amazing and the views are priceless! Worth every dollar. Looking to return soon.

This was a truly relaxing experience. The surrounding nature was beautiful and serene, the treatments were very good, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely, helpful and always smiling. I will definitely go back.

Perfect service - kind employees - stunning views - do the walk down to the river!

Good check in experience. The Staffs ask your preference for dinner, lunch, breakfast and the check out time, they also show you around before go to the room. The room is clean, and with fresh air.

This place is truly a miracle. The resort is an integral part of the nature on the top of the hill. The air, the sound of the nature makes it an ideal place to stay for 1 day or for a year. You can't get enough of it. It is a real treasure.

The hotel is a stunning space. The manager is clearly very hands on and staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent as well. The yoga teacher is very experienced and attentive. It’s rare to find so many things be up to such a good standard in one hotel. I must say the punctuality and service at the spa was not the best, although the rituals and therapists are incredible. Despite some hiccups re, I would recommend and would go again.

Santani was an incredible experience. The service was impeccable and the staff went out of their way to create bespoke menus for us and to look after us during the entire stay. Nothing was too much for them and they really have been trained exceptionally. All the rooms have wonderful views and allow you to soak in the nature and the unbeatable views. It is a great place to relax although not a fantastic base for sight seeing. We stayed for a few nights to break up the hustle and bustle of the tourist spots so it was perfect for us.

Restaurant is great all round and the spa is totally unique.If you want to unplug and chill out this is one of the most relaxing hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Just don’t waste your stay here by going off the resort!!! It’s not cheap, but is well worth the money for what you get and experience

We paid a lot of money but very upset to have this kind of environment (noize monk pray and hard rock music from other side of mountain till midnight. It drived us crazy.

The only downside of the rooms were that there isn't any soundproofing between villas. We enjoyed the yoga classes that we took, as well as the spa treatments we had. Go before word gets out!

The staff, the spa and the amazing food are the other stand out features. While I wouldn't recommend this resort if you're looking for an action packed stay it's the perfect location to escape the crowds. Wake up to yoga, followed by breakfast and then take a stroll down to the river for a quick dip. We were lucky enough to see a pack of monkeys on one of our visits to the river who took it in turns to jump in and cross to the other side. After the your stroll it's time for lunch... you'll certainly be well fed during your stay. The unique spa is a wonderful (but expensive) place to spend the afternoon. Watch the sun go down over the mountains and prepare for a wonderful dinner. All in all a fantastic, memorable and relaxing hotel which I'd thoroughly recommend.

Everything is superb but suggest they tarmac the drive, which we understand will happen next year. When complete we will return.

Had we died and gone to heaven? I had to question my senses from the moment we arrived to Santani “Santani” is the Sanskrit word meaning “in harmony with” and harmonious we felt. This heaven on earth embodies all the virtues of a spiritual ashram with the luxuries of a 5-star wellness retreat.

Our stay at the Santani was a delight in every sense. Everything was done to perfection from the architectural design of the rooms and facilities (minimalist Buddhist aesthetic) to the stunning views to the delicious and healthy meals designed for us by the chef. The service was impeccable across the board. We especially enjoyed the nature walks with the Santani’s naturalist, lovely yoga classes each morning and afternoon, rejuvenating Ayurvedic spa treatments, and an unforgettable dining experience at each meal.

Oh man, this place is SO great. Go ahead a book it now before everyone else discovers it: I am sure the rates will double. Gorgeous sighting of the building next to a working tea plantation, amazing views of the valley and river below. Nice, minimal Scandi architecture. Lovely landscaping, great spa and yoga classes. What blew me away, above all of this, was the food! I really wasn't expecting much, and didn't even realize the meals were included, but they were all excellent. Just tell the chef what you like, and what you can't eat, and he'll go to town. Really really excellent. One note: this is prob not your best bet as a base of operations if you want to explore the temples in the North, or Galle to the West. Getting up and down the mountain takes an hour at least, mostly on windy one lane roads with half-crazed Sri Lankan drivers and tuk tuk traffic :) Rather, this is the perfect place to go and unplug for a few days, a week, or even a month: especially if you're into yoga and want to detox. I expect to see this place on many 'Best of 2017' lists at the end of the year.

Wonderful property, a contemporary heaven for full relaxation in the nature. Great service, amazing chef who put the magic together for some extraordinary meals. Excellent spa, great feel of being so close to the nature in such an amazing setting
