Great location in Havana. The family are lovely and were really helpful with social events and places to go. Breakfast was great and they were really welcoming on arrival. There is a breakfast room with a balcony where you can see the Capitol building. Great little place with 50's furniture and a eclectic style from different eras. There are a few stairs to climb but not too bad. Would highly recommend and hope to return one day.

My family and I had an excellent stay at Casa Carmen. We booked one night there to explore Old Havana and head to the airport for our flight home the following day. We arrived and were warmly welcomed by Guillermo. Our room was exactly what we needed, clean comfortable beds, warm shower, WiFi access and AC. We had been in another part of the country for 5 days without any of this and were in need of these comforts. Since we only had one night left in Cuba we did not need to exchange money but our hosts were prepared to help us with that. Once we were settled we ventured into Old Havana. Guillermo had excellent recommendations for restaurants nearby. In the morning he and his lovely wife prepared a delicious breakfast of eggs, fruits, bread and coffee. We wanted to explore more of the city before heading out to the airport but it was raining. We couldn’t let that stop us. Our hosts were kind enough to lend us their personal umbrellas. Our flight ended up being delayed but we were blessed to have been at Casa Carmen because they graciously accommodated us. We never felt rushed to leave. Once we were ready to head to the airport, they arranged for the taxi. The taxi price was the same if we had gotten it ourselves on the street but without the hassle. If you have a chance to stay here, you will not regret it. You will feel like you’re at home, protected by family that will help and guide your stay.

Casa Carmen is located about 1 1/2 blocks from the Capitolio in old Havana with its aging historical buildings, steep staircases, and long-term resident families. Casa Carmen is on the second floor of a 3-story building. The rooms are simple and immaculate. It is the real Havana! The owners, Guillermo & Seny, are friendly and welcoming. We spent quite a bit of time just talking with them about their lives. Breakfast consisted of egg, cheese, fruit, bread and delicious Cuban coffee and was cooked to order during a two hour window each morning. We ate on a small balcony overlooking the street where we watched the city come to life. Our experience was entirely positive and I recommend Casa Carmen to travelers who are seeking a true Cuban experience.

A nice stay in Havanna, very close to Havanna Viejo and secure. A good breakfast also with fruits. Helpfull to organize a taxi collectivo.

Good location

Casa Carmen is located in a perfect location close to the Capitol, Chinatown, and Havana Vieje. Guillermo and his family were extremely helpful and welcoming during my stay. They were able to give me the do’s and don’ts of Cuba for a first time traveler. They ensured that I had a nice breakfast every morning and ensured I was properly accommodated when traveling to Varadero. I would highly recommend staying with them.

Guillermo and his family were really great to me and provided a lot of assistance with tips and advice regarding Cuba, which you need, once you arrive there. He made sure I was prepared for what to expect during my trip and look out for. Lovely morning breakfast was available too. Very close to Old Havana, just next to it and close to all other main tourist spots. Definitely recommend staying here.

The property is very convenient for all main tourist attractions. The host is always available, highly responsive, the language barrier was not a factor. I really enjoyed the host’s flexibility & kindness. I highlg recommend it.

Carmenn was an excellent hostess. She assisted with our laundry. The room assigned to us was clean. For those who dont have issues with cats and dogs in your living area, you have no issues. We had issues with this and was unable to partake of the free breakfast. She assisted with sim card and booking Taxis and accommodation in Vineles and Varadero.

Carmen makes this lovely place unique by her warm welcome and caring during your stay! There are many plants, a cat and a dog. It's a 2 minute walk from the Capitolio, perfect! It's just a few yards from the restored centre. I wouldn't like to walk in this particular street after dark in any other country in the world, but all of Cuba seems to be quite safe, so not a problem there! And breakfast is included in the price, which is a great plus if you run out on Euros or Dollars in your last days in Cuba.

Carmen and her son were lovely and gracious hosts who were very patient with any questions, especially considering my poor spanish. The breakfast was great and the sheets were changed daily. A very pretty flat too, and walkable central location. It was a pleasure to stay.

I stayed with Carmen for a week and I had a wonderful time. Carmen genuinely cares for the people who stay with her and treats them like members of the family. Her space felt safe and relaxing after time spent in the chaotic city of Havana. Carmen is always willing to help any way she can even though she does not speak much English. On top of that, the breakfast she serves is delicious. Each day I began my morning with a feast of fresh tropical fruit, eggs and toast on her beautiful balcony overlooking the street below. At the same time, remember that this is a casa particular and not a luxury hotel. Be respectful of your host and remember that they are doing the best they can with the resources available to them.

Casa Carmen is the best place I spent a night during my entire Cuba trip. The room is clean and safe and have a really good balcony. Also, it locates in the center of Cienfuegos and almost all the places of interest are walkable. The host is so kind and nice and will explain everything you don’t understand. Highly recommend.
