The Hotel is immaculate and Stephen is warm and welcoming host. The Room had everything required and the Hotel Is in easy walking distance of all the restaurants & shops. Car Parking is not provided but that seems to be the general state of affairs. Weymouth. A very pleasant stay

We stayed at Chapter One this weekend for the first time. It was brilliant. (I am terrible at recalling names) however the gentleman at check in was kind, pleasant and in good spirits which was lovely after our long journey. The hotel was immaculate and smelt so fresh. Our room was top floor and we loved the character and theme of the hotel. It wasn't too much at all, it was just enough to give you some history and such a homely feel. The room itself was lovely and immaculate. The room also smelt so lovely there were no wafting smells like some places i've been too. The book matching the room name was such a nice touch and the bed was incredible. We accidentally slept through breakfast but as we checked out, the gentleman was kind enough to bag up some pastries for us. Will definitely stay again and already passed on our high reviews to family and friends!

The attention to detail and the warm friendly welcome is beyond 5 stars. Steve and the whole staff go over and above, the extra little touches around our anniversary were much appreciated. The Breakfast made a refreshing change and the relaxed atmosphere set you up for the day. Rooms are exceptional and well equipped. We definitely will be returning, it well deserves it award of the best Hotel in Weymouth .

Beyond superb. I’ve had luxury of staying in some of finest 5 star hotels around world - and even in their presidential suites. The gentleman that created this hotel has not left a detail overlooked. The passion and care and… makes this place. It is the nicest boutique hotel I have ever stayed at. Also I don’t believe I have never left a review before, but was going to search out how to before Expedia sent this email.

Lovely hotel with the library/books theme. Host and hostess try to be helpful wherever they can. Would highly recommend.

Lovely fresh room - the Sherlock Holmes room! The very helpful manager moved us to a lower room as soon as he saw our son had disabilities. All the rooms are named after famous books. Great location on the seafront. Good breakfast. Only drawbacks are: no lift, and the public carpark is a few hundred yards away. I would definitely book again

This property is run by someone who truly knows how to make a guest feel welcomed and completely taken care of. No detail was missing from the room, the bed, the bathroom, and most especially from the attitude of the host. We had an excellent shower and a terrific night's rest in this very comfortable boutique hotel.

Well located v near the front , beautiful hotel with well furnished fittings and rooms. Accommodating hosts . Only downsides out of control of the hotel . Need to constantly think about car parking as the public provision is restrictive .

This is a fantastic hotel, we were made to feel very welcome and the hosts couldn’t do enough to make our stay as comfortable as they could would definitely recommend , I would give it ten stars if I could!!

This hotel is a credit to the owner Steve. The beautiful quirky decor to the service received is all due to his attention to detail. We have just enjoyed 3 nights here and have been well looked after. Highly recommend a stay.

Steve met my partner and I at the door, knew our booking by first names and made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the room was lovely. We’ll be staying again

Great stay lovely boutique B&B the only criticisn would be put the electric heating on before the guest arrive, as our big lovely room took several hours to heat before we warmed up as it was a very cold day

Stephen (hotel owner) did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The entire hotel was completely refurbished earlier this year, our room was impeccably clean and the bed was extraordinarily comfortable. The hotel is a bit of a challenge to find as the sign outside is small, traffic is busy, and finding a place to stop and unload luggage nearby is difficult. Overnight parking is on a public lot a short (several blocks) away. If I am in the area again, I would happily stay here again.

Had a fantastic stay The Narrator Steve was fantastic and could not do enough for you , the attention to detail was spot on . Beautiful decor throughout. Lovely fresh continental breakfast and Steve makes the most fantastic coffee. Am returning with my daughter who’s a book lover and will love Chapter 1 xx

Newly renovated I would imagine, lived up to its boutique description, fresh tasteful decor and just superb throughout, the owner obviously has taken great pride in what he does and put a lot of thought and energy in to his hotel,

Hidden gem property located with easy access to the best attractions and restaurants in Weymouth. This boutique hotel has a quiet, elegant and relaxing atmosphere and has been finished to the highest standards. We felt peaceful and happy here and were impressed by the fast WiFi, tasty breakfast and the sophisticated vibe of the place. The literary theme is fun as well and there are many small, thoughtful touches. What really made our stay wonderful was the service, the owners could not have been more accommodating or sweet and bent over backwards to help us after our train was cancelled. Could not recommend enough and look forward to our next visit.

Very cute, loved the personal touches and focus on books and art. Literally across the street from the beach -- which can be crowded, so really nice to sneak back into the lovely hotel. Breakfast was really good, not overly big, but really nice.

Recently refurbished boutique style hotel. Comfortable room. Good breakfast was included. Staff very helpfu and attentive. Very central location. Near to beach, shops and very good quality restaurants.

The hotel was in a great location and the decor & furnishings were 5 star you could not fault them . I feel because of the high standard it is not really suitable for children as the owner seems very anxious to keep it all pristine . The breakfast was okay but not really what you are used to in a seaside town . I didn’t read all the details before booking so didn’t know inflatable rings were not allowed and looked at the picture are true in real life which is definitely not the experience in other hotels in Weymouth. A great comfortable 5 star hotel in a great location.

I enjoyed a thoroughly pleasant stay at Chapter 1 hotel, with my two children. Steven and Sally were so welcoming, and were on hand and helpful throughout our stay. The accommodation is tastefully decorated, and catered for all the needs of a young family. I would definitely recommend and visit again. I wish Sally and Stephen all the best with their business.

Spent two nights in this charming and elegant hotel. It's been renovated with taste and creativity to an excellent standard. The owners are delightful and nothing is too much trouble, whether it's to help with cases, talk you through beautiful coastal walks or make your coffee just right! I normally have to get a 'real' coffee after breakfast in many of the hotels I've stayed in before, but my flat white here was just perfect! If anyone is planning a trip to Weymouth and you want somewhere a bit different and special to stay then this is the place. You will be a stone's throw from the beach and the pretty harbour and town and the coastal walks start virtually on your doorstep. Bon voyage!

Cannot speak highly enough of Steve (the guy who runs it) and the property. It's the attention to detail that made the stay just that much better. Reminded me of a b&b - lovely breakfast in the morning, freshly renovated hotel so everything feels fresh and clean, new individual air con units in the rooms (which was my main concern for the summer heat), friendly and very helpful staff, best sleep I've had in a while thanks to the new bedding. Excellent location, smack dab in the middle of it all. Just really appreciated the hospitality from the staff which as I mentioned made the stay that much better. Already looking forward to my next stay at Chapter 1!

What an absolutely wonderful Hotel! The owner, Steve, and the team are the most thoughtful and friendly people you could hope to meet.The hotel is beautifully renovated with a set of historically named rooms. The Sherlock Holmes suite overlooks the main Esplanade with large sunny windows above the old building entrance.Chapter 1 was a base for a walking weekend around the Isle of Portland and Durdle Door and very convenient to both. Parking was easy, and just around the corner.The room was large and very well appointed with an excellent bed and a good hot shower after long day walks.Breakfast in the main reception room was sunny and elegant. The croissants, coffee, fruits, yoghurts and more were a great kick start to the day.The welcome from Steve was like meeting an old friend .. warm and personal with real honesty in making your stay as good as it could be.There is no more central place in Weymouth. Chapter 1 is close to all the local dining venues and the old docks full of a wide range of eating and entertainment options.I couldn't recommend Chapter 1 more highly.
