Had a lovely 3 night stay at Beach Hotel Torbay. The room was a decent size and clean, with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was quite small, but the walk-in shower was large. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location for the beach/pier (just a cross over the road to the Esplanade). For a 2 star, all I really look for is a base that’s comfortable and clean, and this more than met these standards. Cheery decor, cheery owners, a good stay. I'd happily return.

Excellent from start to finish. Super welcoming, lovely hosts. The room was super value, really clean, perfect view and 1 minute walk from the beach. Happy times and definitely coming back but for fun not business next time! Thank you :)

This is the second time weve stayed here and jt was as fantastic as the 1st,we didnt have breakfast this time due to having to leave early but the 1st visit the food was amazing, The rooms are spotlessly clean,the managers/staff were so friendly,welcoming and just genuinely lovely.the grounds were beautiful and are perfectly kept, the location is great trght near the pier/town, jm already planing another trip in a few months.

What a lovely gem of a place this is. We were made to feel very welcome. The room we had was lovely, small but we knew that when we booked. The bed was comfortable and the towels were better than we have had in the bigger named hotels we've stayed at. We only stayed for one night but are already planning a return visit.

Very welcoming. Gary and James went out of their way to be helpful. They upgraded our room for free. Nice to be able to take our dog too. Bed linen and towels immaculate and nice warm room with a balcony. Initial impression very good, however, it became apparent that cleanliness could be paid more attention. Mould, scum and limescale could be removed from shower doors, nowhere to hang bath towels or keep wash bags off the floor. Hooks for coats not fixed to the wall. Maybe rooms kept for dogs, it would be more hygienic to have non carpeted- easier to keep clean. Bed was standard double and adequate but not great.

We really enjoyed our stay ...our family room was perfect.. with beautiful views of the sea...and Gary couldn't be more helpful when I messaged him regarding the check in times..he allowed us to check in early as we were attending my fathers funeral...making a difficult day so much easier..so very grateful to them for putting themselves out...highly recommend this lovely hotel!

The hotel was just lovely and good value for money. I stayed here for a short birthday break with my husband and daughter. It was very clean and breakfast was perfect and piping hot when served. I would recommend it to anyone. Gary was a lovely host

Only issues were no soap in either dispensers, and bed wasn’t very comfy but I guess that’s a personal preference. Room was also hot but we had our own fan.

We booked last minute, wanting a couple of nights away in Paignton so we could get the steam train to Kingswear. James and Gary were very friendly hosts. The hotel was just what we needed, excellent value for money and really clean and comfortable. We had a good breakfast for and additional cost and the bar was a bonus. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the station with the pier being very close and the harbour within walking distance.

Clean & tidy room, could do with a larger bed in a family room as the kids tend to want to pile in when not sleeping in their own beds but appreciate there isn’t much space. Check in easy, great location. Lovely little garden out the front. Plenty of tea and biscuits! Would recommend :)

Had a midweek stay for 2 nights in late July. Pleasant reception from Lee on arrival, who went through the basic "need-to-knows". Hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast good. The Preston Festival was on with a Fun Fair almost opposite the hotel, the music from this was quite, but turned off by 10.15. Good location for exploring this part of Devon, and we enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay. Very comfortable room with partial sea view. Breakfast was excellent. Our hosts were very friendly. Location of the hotel was good. Fast check in. Nothing to fault our stay apart from a-bit of rain. Would stay here again.

Lovely hotel, top floor family room has great sea views. Hotel directly Infront of the pier, in the middle of the action. Will book again.

Easy to find, staff on the end of the phone and more than happy to accommodate us arriving for a late check in, very clean tidy room with a beautiful view of the pier and sea . Will 100% stay here again when we visit Paignton in the future thank you very much hotel Torbay

We had an amazing experience here, so much so we booked again on check out. The room was spacious, clean and our sea view was excellent. We were very lucky that the air show was on and we were in the best spot. James was fantastic, welcoming and extremely helpful. Both James and Gary even put on a complementary BBQ for all guests which we thought was very generous. Definitely the place to stay if you’re visiting the area!

We loved the view and how convenient it was to everything

We had a great stay the view was amazing and the service incredible. Parking is very limited so we parked at a long stay for our first night and there was a space in the morning so moved the car to the free parking. The hotel was central to everything so we didn’t use the car as good places to eat within walking distance. We will 100% stay again though we may train next time as only a few minutes walk from the train station
