Check in and staff overall great ! The room especially carpet needs upgrading but room was comfortable and generally clean Felt relaxed here and great location even with construction nearby

Rooms are pretty nice however the shower was still pretty dirty I found. Was really my only complaint. Ive certainly stayed in much worse.

Disappointed that we had to park along ways from hotel as street was under construction and was not informed or made aware before arrival, Front desk service when called down about a TV issue, was horrible , told me twice someone would be up waited 45 mins after both calls, called the 3 time left me on hold for 20 mins so hung up, we fell asleep to be waken by someone to finally came to the door for repair over 2 hours of waiting, we ignored the door and went back to sleep, No room service next day, Which also disappointing, Everything else was great

Terrible...will never stay again...we have been going to that hotel 2 times a year for 20 years.Nobody mentioned constructin,myself and wife are disabled and had to hump luggage throug scotia square parking lot,up escalaters and very long walk...We mentioned to hotel staff...no help offered on check in and check out..Never again

Horrible dated room with bad view. Old furnishings, mouldy tub, wallpaper coming off, dirty carpet. Just not a good place to stay. Major construction going on road-no fault of hotel but consider the parking is far now and have to navigated a mass of peats, elevators, hallways like a lost rat.

With construction it was difficult to get to and the directions for parking were not readily available to review. Parking was not paid for by the hotel, which this has been the first hotel that did not have this option, and I assumed it would. Also it did not have a free breakfast available. I would actually not have selected it if I had really read all the details. There are just as good of clean and nice hotels that offer parking and breakfast, this was the last day of our vacation and I didn’t pay full attention to the apps information.

Terrible hotel, I left a sweater hanging in the wardrobe and called them 35 minutes after i checked out to let them know about it and to tell them I would pick it up in a couple of day's and i was told not to worry. Needless to say the sweater was never handed inti lost and found and not available for me to pick up!! Very disappointing. I will never stay here again

Anyone who has read a few reviews can see there is construction going on out front, there is a cost for parking and it isn't all that convenient, and that it is an older property that could use a refresh. There's a reason it's currently significantly cheaper than nearby properties. It's well worth the price.

Chaos to find a parking due to construction in front of the hotel. Not the hotel fault but could help their clients with a parking discount or coupons as it is not the client's fault either. Reception was nice to change my room from 1 to 3rd as I didn't want to be to close to the street. Bathroom needs an upgrade. Nice view of the harbour.

All I can say is the room was good, clean great location but they have a serious issue with their WIFI. I made a call at the desk, tell them the issue and the response was, can I call you back which they never did. Not to concern about service.

Slightly dated, but overall good hotel. Wifi wasn’t great for those who need to take zoom calls remotely.

When checking in, I was completely unaware that visa debit would not be accepted. The clerk was unapologetic and made me feel stupid for not knowing this. I don’t have credit card, and have never had an issue anywhere else using visa debit. I would also like to add that the room didn’t seem to be cleaned well. There was a dirty napkin on the floor when we got there.

I felt the hotel was dated for the cost, the AC was non existing we had it to 16 and still hot in the room, told front desk said they went and fixed it, but all it did then was smelled musty. I paid to upgrade to a king bed room and if that was the upgrade it wasn't worth it. We had blown a fuse cause 2 of us used a hair dryer at the sametime. Lamps blew out on the side table and one 1/2 of the bathroom light would come on and off. Bed was comfortable and thats it. Won't be staying again.

There was no parking. Even just to check in and drop off your bags. There was a 10 minute walk to the closest place you can park just to check in. Then after checking in you have to move your vehicle to a parkade a few blocks away. If you've got a lot of luggage prepare yourself for a hike and pack a lunch for the journey of just checking in to this hotel. Front end staff want very knowledgeable in local restaurants. I asked where a good place to eat was near by and she didn't know and started searching on the internet for us. I told her nevermind, i can do that myself.

The hotel is a little out of date. It was clean though.

Great reception staff. The receptionist kindly allocated me great room with a view looking uphill to the Citadel. So helpful and efficient. Hotel is perfectly located for downtown Halifax.

Booked at 830am. After 3pm they still didn’t have room ready or my reservation. They should indicate that “free parking” is no longer available on this as it’s under construction. I picked this location for parking as I have 2 kids under 3. The room needs to be cleaned up and repaired. Mirrors damaged and bathtub. The wallpaper is peeling. The carpet outside the room is loose from the ground. Asked the staff 3 times for a crib to be put in the room and finally got one at 8pm without sheets for it. The staff needed to be pushed but they were very accommodating. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Needs a major up date.

Check in was fast and easy, room was clean. Long walk from parking and the room was dated.

Not their fault about the road construction so not holding any accountability for that, however, There was quite a bit of long black hair in and around the bathroom area (tub, toilet, sink, etc). Made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. AC didn't work well. Set to 62F to get to a nearly chilled temp. Windows don't even crack open so couldn't use outside air to cool down either. Finally, room service replaced towels etc and clearly had been in the room to service, but did not make the bed which I found very odd.

Rooms were not cleaned daily, we had to call three times for towels. We were told someone would be sent up to do our room and they didn’t show up. I spoke with the manager and he gave me a discount on my final bill to compensate for the lack of service which he attributed to a computer problem. The location is perfect and the restaurant , when open, was good.

The road in front of the hotel is under a huge construction project. The parking is a maze to get from parking into the hotel, although the hotel gives you VERY detailed description of how to navigate your way to the property. The room was a bit dated. There is a nice restaurant/coffee shop just adjacent to the lobby of the hotel. The thing that was wrong is that the hotel doesn’t list anywhere in the Expedia/ hotels.com description about the construction and they don’t inform you until a couple days before you arrive. This is wrong. I would stay here again but not for a couple years until the construction project is done.

Wonderful hotel, great location, friendly and helpful staff, cozy rooms (but pillows need improvement). Great location to the waterfront and all types of dining options.

I was not aware we had to park blocks away. Myself with a broken rib having to carry tons of bags as it was my Brother’s wedding weekend. Our room wasn’t cleaned and we had to go searching for clean towels. The hotel room attendant could not speak a bit of English and could not understand what I was asking for. The hotel called a cab for us and the driver was the absolute rudest driver I have ever met. We Asked to be taken to YukYuk’s comedy club a well known attraction in Halifax. He argued with us and said there was no such place, kept driving around to run up his meter speaking in his language loudly! It made my husband and myself very uncomfortable to say the least!

It was good overall

My son stayed there for the first time by himself and the staff facilitated his first day with utmost professionalism and courtesy
