We enjoyed our stay! A cute and clean hotel with comfortable beds and a wonderful continental breakfast. Easy walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants.
We would stay here again!

The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast and happy hour were nice.
My only criticism is the pillows - they were terrible - I woke up with a stiff neck every morning. The bed itself was very comfortable.

Delightful inn a few blocks from the beach

Very helpful and friendly staff. Every employee we encountered was polite and professional. The rooms had a ‘sewer-like’ odor. They had air conditioners that were noisy but room(s) were humid and got too warm and stuffy. The outside seating areas were wonderful as was the area where breakfast and wine tasting were provided. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but wished rooms were a bit more updated.

I booked based on the location and information from other travelers regarding the comfort of the beds, nothing like a comfy bed after a day of traveling.

This was a nice inn at a great location. The rooms are a little dated but very clean. I would give 5 stars except the air conditioner was so loud that it woke me up every night. The staff are excellent. They serve a very nice breakfast for guests and a happy hour every evening. Parking is free and available at the location. This inn was within easy walking distance to the waterfront as well as to the 101.

We were not aware the Lavender Inn was on a major/busy street. The breakfast and Wine reception were subpar. The same cheese cubes were served the following day at the wine reception and the chilled white and the chilled red wine appeared to be boxed. Options for breakfast were slim which offered "baked eggs cups" and some pastry options. Nearby inns appeared to have better options. We ate out both mornings.

This motel was dated. The room we had was dark and small. For the price, we were disappointed. The people were kind and they did welcome us with wine and cheese. But the room was disappointing.

The reason I gave this rating is because my room, 24, was VERY noisy. Being right next to the office, the sounds of banging door and work being done in the back was really annoying. I like the property and the room was beautiful, but for $300 for the night..... nope, never again

The hotel is an older property. They’ve done a lot to keep it clean and the bed was comfortable. Everything in SB is so expensive, it’s hard not to expect more. The happy hour was a nice touch.

Second time staying here and both times we have had spacious rooms and great amenities. Breakfast is lovely. And the location is central and walkable. We love it. Will stay again

This is a nice, small hotel that isn't too far from the water. The staff was great, the room was nice enough, and they have some good amenities. The breakfast is good, and they have a free wine/sangria happy hour in the evening that is actually pretty nice. They gave us a room upgrade, and even gave us a free bottle of champagne for being Expedia VIP members. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is good, within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The staff is friendly. Free breakfast and afternoon wine tasting. The pool is clean. However, the room is small. Bathroom is very small. AC and the refrigerator were very loud, which kept waking me up at night. Overall, this is an overpriced motel.

All good but Expedia upgrade was mediocre and would have preferred regular wine ( not everyone likes sparking ). Also, the room upgrade was bigger maybe but it seemed older and needs a renovation.

We highly enjoyed our stay at the Lavender Inn. We were greeted by great staff, and we really enjoyed our complimentary VIP gift of sparkling wine. It was clean, quiet, had a wonderful breakfast, and had great staff. Parking can be a little bit tricky if you get there later in the evening, but we ended up getting a great spot for the remainder of our trip since we were able to walk to everything!

The name is deceptive; the breakfast very mediocre unless you're a fan is canned joice, unripe melon and packaged cheese; and old-fashioned motel rooms. It's clean, tho. An average motel in a lovely city, ok for an overnight stay.

The sitting area outside (one of the sectional sofas) was wonderful. We called it our “living room” when we occupied it. The breakfast was awesome and much more than a Continental style meal!

I departed early in the morning. The key is under the office door mat. I would have been nice if there was a mail slot to put the key. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Loved the surrounding environment of beautiful flowers, greenery, lighting, fountain, etc. Nice breakfast, lovely breakfast room and outside. Could use microwave in the breakfast room (great having one in our room, but one in the breakfast room is needed). Would be helpful to have small writing pad in room (and pen) which is usually provided in most hotels of this kind. Appreciated the courteous staff.
