Wonderful hotel, location and service! Recommended!!

The place was nice but be aware that the room rate they advertise on Hotels.com is incorrect. And the reason they give you is a complete nonsense, in the end I paid 7% more which is not a lot but I don’t like being lied to, when I asked the front desk they deflected it on my credit card company (VISA) but they actually use they own exchange rate for foreigners … According to them the USD on the listing is only for Argentinian residents … nonsense…

Rooms were huge.

Xelena has been our best stay in Argentina! It is very clean, and the staff are friendly. There is also a wonderful view of the lake!

Beautiful location overlooking the lake. A short drive to the hustle and bustle of town. Lovely pool and hot tub. Maximiliano at the front desk - above and beyond service!

Not 5 Star maybe 3. Checkin not very smooth. Stayed in Presidential Suite and had to walk to Lobby to get “free” Ecodriendly water.

The hotel is definitely not worth the money for several reasons. Firstly, be cautious about the amount you're paying. The hotel enforces a non-official exchange rate for USD, which is 2.27 times higher than the rate used elsewhere. They falsely claimed this is the law, but in reality, they're taking the benefit tourists receive with their international credit cards (MEP exchange rate) for themselves. They price everything in USD but charge in local Pesos after an unfavorable MEP conversion, resulting in higher credit card fees and canceling out the benefits tourists should enjoy. This is essentially theft, as it's not disclosed anywhere, and the booking is non-refundable. During check-in, they surprise guests with this exchange rate, forcing them to either pay it or face a 100% fine from hotels.com. Secondly, the rooms are basic. Although we received a complimentary upgrade to a larger room with a view, it's comfortable but lacks the amenities you'd expect in a five-star hotel, such as a welcome drink or afternoon snacks. The spa area is small and poorly maintained, with a dirty pool and mold on its walls. This falls far short of the standards one expects from a five-star hotel, especially after the unfavorable exchange rate experience during check-in. I would recommend choosing another hotel that respects the official exchange rate to ensure a more worthwhile experience.

I would like to start by saying that this is not a five star hotel as it has been advertised in Expedia. The hotel has several limitations for example all rooms are not insulated and you can hear what the people in the room next you are talking even with a normal voice level. We stayed for two nights with some friends and we stayed in three different rooms. All of my friends were in agreement with this statement. My next door neightboor was noisy all night and I could sleep, It is very unfortunate and very frustrated not be able to rest or sleep. The hotel management is informed about the lack of privacy and they have not done anything about it. The supervisor at the front desk said there have been several complains about this same issue in the past from other customers. This was a really uncomfortable situation, Please be aware of this when you are making a reservation.

Check in was fast and efficient. Hotel was nice and cosy. Staffs were friendly and helpful.

Spectacular, beautiful, everything excellent

One of the best hotels we have stayed, We were very nervous as this was the first hostel stay in Argentina, but just the checkin experience itself made us feel comfortable. The hospitality is outstanding, each and every staff, let it be at the front desk or at the restaurant all were very polite and tried their level best to speak in English. The front desk lady, if I not wrong her name is Ben was amazing, she explained the amenities and services the hotel provides, even allowed us to checkout an hour late. They have luggage storage which is super helpful for people having late evening flights. The room was clean and tidy, has in room slippers and wardrobes, they have complimentary water bottles and a can of beer stored for you in the refrigerator. It’s lake facing and sunrise form the lake is amazing. Last but not least, have to mention the shuttle service that runs every hour to the downtown and back, giving the proximity to the shopping and dinner places. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to my friends in case they travel to Patagonia.

Quiet hotel close to town. Great location for exploring around El Calafate.

Location & spacious and clean rooms were appreciated. The 2 1/2 hs waiting at check in were unnecessary.

Luciana was excellent at the front desk but the rest of the staff were clueless. Also, staff at breakfast not helpful. It's more of a 3 star than a 5 star hotel.

Beautiful hotel. The staff is always ready to help. Excellent views. Walkable from the main street even-though they provide a transfer from 3pm to 7 pm. Very clean and COVID conscientious.

Everything you need is there. Not a true 5 star for American standards and not on the water. Friendly staff. Did not enjoy the dinner at their famcy restaurant. Was pointed to go sit instead of walked to table and food was OK. Rexommend going in to town for dinner or eating at the bar.

A pretty nice place but definitely not 5 star. Maybe 3.5. Staff were excellent, room was at the level of a USA Marriott courtyard or similar.

This is not a 5 star quality hotel. Not because it is not fancy enough or did not do turn down service, it really is not at all a luxurious accommodation and really outdated. A few things that really bothered me about the stay- 1) the bathroom smelled like old sewer. It was clean but the pipes I imagine are really old and the bathrooms had distinctive sewage odors from very old buildings 2) the walls are super thin so you can hear a conversation from the next room and every time the neighbors showered or flashed the toilet, you really could hear everything. 3) the shampoos and conditioners were hung on the wall but both pumps were broken. 4) shower stall moved when you stepped on which is happening because the hotel is really old. This hotel should really be 2-3 starred hotel, not 5.

Great hotel, impressive views, chic yet warm, really attentive staff. Useful transfer service to downtown Calafate. Definitely recommend and will come back to this hotel. The only con is the pool and sauna facilities, availability is restricted to afternoon only and needs some improvement, but the inside / outside pool is fantastic.

Excellent property! The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. They follow all Covid precautions so you feel safe at all times. Food was really good!! Definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful hotel with kind and attentive staff. The pool & hot tub area has a magnificent view of the lake and mountains, with a wonderful outdoor part. The food was excellent. Great experience!

Great hotel, best in El Calafate, very helpful staff, good food in restaurant and awesome breakfast, open/close swimming pool with unbelievable views to the lake and mountains.

Would rate as a 4-star hotel. Food was ok. Tried to get a massage but they don’t have space for two people at a time.

The property is fine the rooms are fine but huge noise problem you can listen to the room next door their conversation, the doors opening and closing, when the cleaning staff comes to clean the room they start very early 9 am they come to the room, also the dont knock to see is someone is inside they just open the door Huge mistake if you plan to relax or want to sleep in a quiet place

Front desk staff Florencia is very helpful and professional. The hotel has a lovely outlook over the lake. A 20 minute walk to the Centre but also has an hourly shuttle bus.
