It all started 2 days before our arrival that the address didn't match the location as on Vrbo map. Host Offred Uber from airport for all guests (only used 1 out of 2 due to airline delays), groceries on first day, and $500 cash refund (never received). Other issues: AC unit not working in 1 room, hot water not always available in 1 shower, cockroaches (1 dead and 1 alive in the rental), master bedroom and shower have signs of water leaks from the upstairs and wall cracks around water pipes (I have videos/pictures of issues) Host set a visit for the host maintenance and exterminator but no one showed up. Host never called to cancel. I had to leave a morning breakfast meeting to be at the rental. Host made up excuses, but things didn't make any difference. Offered us to move to another rental located a few blocks away. Come to find out that it was 2 different appartements on a 3rd floor with no elevator and one less bathroom. We turned the offer down and asked the host to compensate us for all these headaches that we didn't create. He asked us to check out with 3 days left on the agreement and he will reimburse the 3 days left. We refused because it will be hard to find a new place or rent hotel rooms at the last minute. Actually, we were hoping that he would offer a counteroffer but just keep delaying every decision and the last turn he texted that he will not handle the case and his manager will. To my best knowledge I have not heard again from either one.

If you need a clean place with a lot of bedrooms, this is a great spot in Manhattan. The host was helpful and responsive. The entrance is right on ninth avenue, which can be quite busy with some people hanging out on the sidewalk, but we never felt unsafe.
