We rented this house for our first full family vacation in 15 years (3 generations). The 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful house (immediately feeling at home), the awesome fun-filled barn and the great location near picturesque towns (Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Chester) and beaches. We were all sad to leave and would love to come back. Thanks Shaune and Greg!

Thank you to Greg and Shaune for allowing us to return to their beautiful home! A group of 8 friends thoroughly enjoyed the 3 day get away with lots of down time. The entertainment barn was utilized from morning to night with many a friendly games tournament. We hope to return next year! Thank you again.

My friends and I had a wonderful 5 days here…it’s even better than the photos. Greg and Shaun are lovely hosts…very helpful and quick to respond (even through a hurricane). The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you could need and more. The beds were all so comfortable and the rooms were lovely. EVERYTHING is lovely here! Would highly recommended to friends and families as a great place to stay.

Anthony and I absolutely loved our stay at the property. Shaune and Greg were fantastic people and great communicators. Waking up every morning, having coffee on the deck with a view of the water was one of our favorite parts of the day. We spent hours in the barn playing pool and skeeball too!

Everything and more. The house was nicely laid out, and worked for 6 adults. The unexpected bonus was the barn/games building. We lived in it every evening, and had a blast. The second out building was great for movies. Big screen, good selection of movies, and comfortable seating. Will we be back. . . absolutely.

We had a fantastic time at the cottage. Upon arriving it was immaculate throughout. The cottage is beautiful and well stocked. He beds were super comfy and the two bathrooms was a bonus with the group of us. Then you go to the barn…..there are no words. This place is amazing! We spend every day touring towns and every night in the barn. The chicken coop was cool too but we never used it because the barn was so cool. We didn’t even eat inside once. Just sat at the picnic table every day. I have never given a 5star review on any cottage I’ve rented. This deserves way more even. Thanks so much for making the first week of our vacation an unforgettable one!!

We loved everything about this property rental. The house was beautiful and view from the back porch, gorgeous! The barn with all it’s games was so much fun for children to adults. And of course the chicken coup was an added bonus. The hosts, Shaune and Greg were very helpful with any questions we had and responded quickly. The host of this property goes way over the top. Lovely cottage and spectacular views...barn with pooltable and shuffleboard was a big hit...really enjoyed our stay.

The owners have thought of everything! The property is beautiful. It had all the amenities one would need on vacation. It’s a very popular place because we have been trying to get in for two years. It’s close to Lunenburg, Blue Rocks, & Mahone Bay. We loved the way the owners decorated the cottage; extremely tasteful. So glad we finally got to stay. You will love the games room and the movie room, absolutely fabulous. You won’t be disappointed. Owners were wonderful to deal with❤️

The blue house red barn was a wonderful spot to stay, it had absolutely everything we needed!!! Very clean and organized!! The entertainment barn was so much fun for evening entertainment. Fire pit down by the water was lovely. Definitely looking forward to another visit!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Blue house, Red Barn. The photos on the website really do not do it justice! We were there to celebrate my Son’s 18th birthday, just family and his girlfriend, but we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The cottage is extremely clean and well equipped and Greg and Shaune were the perfect hosts. The view from the cottage is beautiful, the location is perfect and the Red Barn was an added bonus we have not experienced anywhere else. We spent a few hours of fun playing skee ball, shuffle board, darts and pool. The local must does are; The Ovens National Park (please note there is an entry fee), Hirtles Beach, Gaff Point and Green Bay beach. Lunenburg is great for restaurants, shopping and second hand book stores. Rose Bay grocery store is only a 10 minute drive for a good supply of groceries and the most amazing locally made ice cream. We definitely plan to return!

Our stay at this property was so much fun! The beautifully restored home included everything you could possibly need to make your stay a comfortable and relaxing one. The barn and chicken coop were the icing on the cake. Hours were spent playing pool, skee ball and shuffle board. There is so much space to hang out and relax. This was our 3rd time staying at Blue House Red Barn. It’s a beautiful property with incredible amenities. Great spot to enjoy with friends and family with so many things to do. We love it!

This property is exactly what is portrayed in the write up. It’s lovely inside and out and the barn gave us some great options when the weather wasn’t on our side. Discovering local beaches was definitely a highlight for our crew.

Wonderful stay. Property is unbelievably well curated and offers all kinds of fun and unique things to do. Conveniently located between Rose Bay and Lunenburg, it was exactly what we needed on our vacation!

Spending a week in this picturesque setting; enjoying time well-spent with family and friends; reliving our youth and playing ‘vintage’ games in the barn… we relaxed, recharged, and reconnected. The property is spacious, extremely well cared for, and amazingly decorated. It exceeded all of our expectations on so many levels. This is the perfect getaway for couples, families, friends… anyone needing to forget the craziness and reconnect to a simpler time. The waterfront views, the beautiful sunrises with a wisp of fog over the water.. the smell of fresh coffee.. the stillness of nature. We can’t wait to go back!

This property is perfectly located with so many destinations readily accessible by bicycle or a short car ride. But you can also have a full vacation without leaving it. We enjoyed morning coffee on porch, croquet on the lawn, exploring the inlet by kayak, and nights in the party barn. It will surpass your expectations!

Absolutely amazing property, everything was perfect! We had a wonderful stay, the barn games room is such a fun place to hang out and coffee in the AM on the back deck was heavily! The kitchen is fantastic and has everything you might need. One of the best holiday homes in Nova Scotia!

We immediately felt at home on this beautifully designed and decorated property. The house, porch and barn offer no end of entertainment. We were blessed with good weather and spent hours exploring the picturesque surrounding area by foot, bicycle, car and ferry. A fabulous getaway!

This was our 2nd stay at Blue House Red Barn and it was as perfect the second time as it was the first. We had perfect and took advantage of the property. Plenty of seating for outside viewing of the water and yard games. In the evening we spent our time enjoying the games in the barn and the coop. The house is well stocked with everything you need to have a pleasant stay.

This place is gorgeous. The property is true to the photos so there were no surprises in terms of what to expect when we got there - except for some lovely gifts that were left for us! It was the perfect staycation home to share with our "bubble family" for a week. It was spacious and clean and the property owners thought of every detail. The location is excellent, too - close to Hirtle's Beach, Mahone Bay, LaHave, and Lunenburg. We highly recommend this!

Eight of us stayed at this property for 3 nights for our annual friend weekend , it was a great location . Lots to see and do in the area , the scenery is beautiful . There was a lot of space at the Blue house property , we enjoyed relaxing on the back deck , the entertainment barn is a great bonus to the property , we spent our evenings in there playing games and socialising . The Home owners are very accommodating and friendly . Highly recommend this property .

We had an adult get away to Nova Scotia. Our first time visiting, adults only trip and the property was perfect. It had everything we needed and then some. The property was spotless and inviting. I will recommend this VRBO to everyone visiting Nova Scotia. Just a quick drive to Lunenburg that was the most adorable town with some of the best food we've ever eaten! We had a lot of rain with our stay and spent a lot of time enjoying the chicken coops and games in the red barn! Thanks Shaune and Greg!

The hosts have thought of everything that a guest would need for vacation. A fully equipped kitchen, spacious living areas, games barn and chicken coop entertainment building. Lunenburg and Lahave are a quick drive away. We can’t wait to come back 😊

Could not have asked for a better property and location for our honeymoon. Greg and Shaune were great with whatever we needed. The property has so much to offer you will never be bored. How was very clean and had everything you could ask for. Great stay will certainly be coming back

This place was just perfect for or family gathering. The house is beautiful and was spotlessly clean! The barn was amazing and we enjoyed playing games (longest shuffleboard table we’d ever seen!) and music in there every night. Chicken coop was awesome too and the view sitting on the deck in the morning enjoying coffee was so relaxing. Location is just perfect surrounded by so many beaches and easy to pop down to the Rose Bay store when we realized we forgot a few things! Thank you for sharing your beautiful house, barn and property with us. We hope to return!

The property is beautiful and the owners have thought of every amenity. I can't wait to go plan for my next getaway. Hurricane Dorian was an unwelcome guest during our time but it did little to diminish my love of this place. Great for small to large families.

We gave five stars on everything. The home was amazing,had everything we needed. It was the perfect location for our travel plans. We we're away sightseeing or visiting family during the day and home every night enjoying the Red Barn. The games room was such an added feature. We will definitely get the word around about your cottage.
