My husband and I were alone in the villa and had an amazing time. We did not want to leave. It is totally secluded, which made for a relaxing holiday but there are a couple of great places to eat and drink in the tiny town within walking distance. The owners and booking agents were both readily available and extremely helpful. The villa has everything you could need inside and has an amazing outdoor space and a fantastic pool area. We had a great stay at Villa Acorn. The hosts were fantastic, they were always available for any questions we had. They greeted us with a very nice homemade meal and a bottle of wine, that was very sweet of them. The villa is very pleasant, the pool is of a perfect size and always kept clean. The gardens are beautiful, very well taken care of. The villa's location was perfect for us... 10 minutes away from the town of Rethymno and some beaches and an hour away from the beautiful beaches in the south... and if we wanted a quick bite to grab close by, we could just walk to Christo's taverna, that serves great home made cretan food.

We have rented many holiday houses, this house is among the absolutely best experiences. IWe can really recommend it for families with children. The reality is better than pictures (which i seldom). The family who owns it is extremely nice and helpful. There is a lot of space. many activities basketball, tabeltennis, table soccer etc. No neighbors. Close to city/shops. We will indeed come back again some time in future :)

We stayed in the house for 10 nights and absolutely loved it and hated to go back home. When you are in the house it feels that you are in a very remote area but this is not the case. The closest village is about a 2minute drive and Rethimnon is only a 10 minute drive. The house is beautiful and has all the amenities you would need to have a perfect holiday. The pool is really well maintained by the owner (he comes to clean it every morning). Additionally the surroundings of the house are really pretty as well. From your sitting area you will the see olive and vineyards as well as a the sea. The owners of the house are very hospitable. Upon arrival we got some home made Greek meal as well as some fruits and wine. On the day before departure they catered another meal which was really nice. The area of Rethimnon offers a lot of things to do and see. 10 days were not sufficient to see the area as well as the island. Thank you Emma and family for the wonderful stay you were all very hospitable (including the two little dogs Cici en Lady as well as Tommie the cat) we will definitely come back. We had a fantastic stay in acorn villa, 2 families of 4, adults, teenagers and young children. Location was great, not very far to local tavernas and shops. Just a short journey to Rethmyno. Our host Emma had a fantastic home cooked meal ready on our arrival even though after midnight! Etouri were also very helpful with helping us organise days out etc during our stay. I would thoroughly recommend, the house is beautiful, the location great and hosts and rental company absolutely first class!

Schitterende villa met alles op en aan. Fantastische eigenaars die zich volledig inzetten voor het welslagen van onze vakantie. We werden overladen met cadeaus en allerlei tips. De hygiëne was voortreffelijk en we voelden er ons de koning te rijk. Eén minpunt : de voorgestelde excursies door Robert (Etouri) zijn onwaarschijnlijk duur. Zo werd ons voorgesteld voor een navette naar de Samaria kloof heen en terug voor 450 euro. We losten het anders op !

My family and I just returned from this fabulous property! The location was perfect, a short drive from great beaches and the lovely town of Rethymno. The house was super clean, and a great place to unwind with family. It was decorated so nicely and had all the ammenities we could ask for. The pool and slide was a big hit. Adorable little dogs too!

Wir waren 2 Familien mit 4 Kindern. Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Emma und ihrer Familie begrüßt (per Telefon auch von der Agentur), auch die Betreuung durch die Eigentümer war außerordentlich gut. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Villa liegt auf einem Berghang mit Blick aufs Meer. 7 Minuten benötigt man per Auto zum nächstgelegenen Lidl, lediglich 3 Minuten zu kleinen, lokalen Einkaufsläden, die ebenfalls eine ordentliche Auswahl (vor allem an frischen Früchten) bieten. In die Altstadt/ Hafen Rethymnons benötigt man 10-15 Minuten, die selbe Zeit zu tollen Stränden westlich von Rethymnon in Richtung Chania. Wir können Sirocos Beach & Tavern empfehlen, kostenlose Liegen und Schirme in bestem Zustand, frische Cocktails/ Säfte und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen, ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Dazu bis ca 100m ins Meer hüfttiefes Wasser, für Kids perfekt. Wir haben eine tolle Zeit verbracht und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank nochmal an Emma und ihre Familie! Efcharisto!

The villa ACORN is a perfect place for a holiday of a bigger group. We have been 9 people and there is plenty of room for doing things together - but nevertheless plenty of room to get a separate place for anybody who just wants some privacy. All has been in very good condition. There is anything You need for convenience, relaxation but activity and play too. We have been happy with the big garden with ripe oranges at the trees, with the additional separate house in the garden and of course with the pool. The house itself is much bigger than we expected from description and the surrounding area is separate, with many trees and very calm but nevertheless close to a small village shop and restaurant reachable within a short walk of 10min. And within a 10min. drive by car we anyway could reach the middle of Rethymnon with everything available You need. Also the location inside Crete is great, that allowed to visit the beaches in north and south with short distance and even reach many interesting places to the west and east with little time of driving (from Elafonisi beach to Heraklion/Knossos, all was possible to do easily). Every day we made juice from freshly picked oranges from the garden. We enjoyed many exotic plants (exotic for us), many blooming flowers and even more butterflies in the garden. The owners are very helpful, friendly and hearty people that made us our stay pleasant and helped us, to learn a little bit about people and the country of Crete. Last but not least of course Crete itself was great for us to visit the many nice beaches with perfectly crystal clear water, perfect for swimming (though the visit was in middle of June the water was of good temperatures). Furthermore many gorges and churches, interesting prehistoric places, ... Much more than possible to do within a short stay of rarely two weeks.

This slice of heaven is hidden between olive trees close to a small village in the inland of Rethymno (10 min drive). The location is ideal both to enjoy some quiet and/or to explore the island. The house is simply perfect on all levels (pool, garden, equipment, space, barbecue..), especially, but not only, for family with kids (we were two couples respectively with 2 and 3 young children, including a newborn), and really clean. As for the owners, Emma and her parents, they are incredibly friendly, welcoming and responsive, and their generosity is really genuine and contagious. Finally, booking trough Etouri agency proved smooth and convenient: they offered assistance, were always responsive and friendly and offered us a free day at a nice beach club. We really hope to come back sometime!

There is a good supermarket in Rethymno and a small one for emergencies in the town next to the villa. The owners are lovely and the house was cleaned in the middle of the week, which was a nice touch. If I was being picky, then one end of the dirt road that leads up to the villa is practically impassable due to some big dips and rocks, so you need to be careful how you get to it and approach from the other side. Also, the outdoor barbecue house could do with some more tools. We couldn’t really use the very impressive one in the pictures and had to make do with the smaller one around the side of the building. Some other utensils like measuring jugs and large serving bowls would have been useful too. Like I said - minor things. Highly recommend this villa!

My wife and I along with my daughters and grandchildren, 6 adults and 3 children under 5, stayed at Villa Acorn for 10 days. The Villa is beautiful and well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge cool and relaxing. The outside space is huge with a large heated pool and great play area for the children. The views are spectacular with amazing sunsets. The Villa is very private but only 10 min by car to beaches and the lovely town of Rethymno. The local village is a 10 min walk with a shop, bar and restaurant. George, Aphrodite and Emma are wonderful hosts providing lots of tips and a lovely meal on arrival plus great treats every time they came to the Villa. We all had a great holiday and would thoroughly recommend Acorn Villa to anyone. We would definitely love to stay there again.

The villa is surrounded by many olive and oak trees. The equipment is excellent! A fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a large TV and Playstation and a very large terrace with a large table where everyone can sit together. In addition, it has a barbecue pool house, which is located next to the beautiful swimming pool with slide. There are also basketball hoops, table tennis and table football. Balls and rackets are there. We spent a beautiful week in May with five adults and four children between 5 and 11 years. The weather was very fine, so we enjoyed swimming in the pool with clear blue water every day. The owners are so nice! They surprised us with a freshly cooked dinner on the day of arrival! After half a week, the villa is cleaned and there is a change of linen and towels. The pool is cleaned every day early in the morning. But the owners are absolutely unobtrusive! For inquiries, they immediately take care of everything! This villa is absolutely recommended! We will certainly return there! Try taverna Christos! They also deliver the freshly cooked food to the villa, fantastic!!!

Very nice and clean family-house with wonderfull big garden outside kitchen and pool. The owners make sure that everthing is perfect. Perfect place to stay, nice and quite and also only 7-10 min (by car) from the city and the beaches. We had a great vacation at Villa Acorn with our family and recommend this property to everyone.

Een heerlijk huis met supervriendelijke en gastvrije eigenaren. Er stond zelfs een heerlijke salade en een ovenschotel (home made) klaar toen we aankwamen. Het huis heeft een lekker rustige ligging en is toch maar 7-10 auto-minuten van de stad en de stranden af. Een geweldige plek om te verblijven met je familie of vrienden (ook kind vriendelijk). Het huis is super schoon en er zijn voldoende handoeken en badhandoeken/strandlakens. Genoeg te zien en te beleven in de omgeving maar het is ook heerlijk om aan het zwembad in de tuin bij de buitenkeuken door te brengen. Een echte aanrader!

We - 3 couples and 3 small children - stayed in Villa Acorn for one week. First of all, we have to say that the hosts gave us a warm welcome (they even prepared a traditional meal for us!) and they were very supportive during our stay. We could get in contact with Emma and received an answer on very short notice. Also Mr. George came daily to take care of the pool equipment and the garden. The Villa Acorn is very clean with a lot of places (inside and outsice) to relax. The kitchen is well-equiped (dishwasher, large fridge, ...). For our children, it provides a small playground which they enjoyed very much. You need to have a car because the Villa is situated on a hill Close to Rethymno. However, there is a grocery store in 5min driving distance. We would also like to mention the excellent Service we received from etouri vacation rental Management. They made sure we were comfortable and got in contact with us before, during and after our vacation.

We stayed here in July/August 2017. Our party consisted of 6 adults, 2 young boys and 2 babies. The inside of the villa was very clean and really nicely decorated. It felt like home from home. The BBQ area was amazing and we enjoyed a number of very pleasant evenings around the large table watching the sun go down with a cool iced drink. There are a number of seating areas both inside and outside the villa, so we never felt on top of each other. The pool was incredible and the boys loved the slide (the photo shows a diving board which is not there any more). We had a very warm welcome when we arrived from Emma and her parents. They actually made us a lovely local dish for tea as we arrived about 4:30pm. Delicious and a great way to start a relaxing holiday! Emma was always on hand for any questions or advice on places to go and which beaches are the best. There are three water parks within an hour and 15 minutes drive. We all went to one and had a very fun day. We found a number of lovely beaches within half an hours drive and we were also very impressed with Rethymno old town (about 20 minute drive). A very typical quaint Greek town with lots of nice tavernas hidden down cobbled alleyways. We didn't have a bad meal and the prices were very reasonable. There is a Lidl within a 5 minute drive as well as closer local shops for essentials. We have stayed in a number of villas in the past and we all agreed that this is the nicest one so far. Suffice to say we wish we were there now having come back to the UK weather with clouds and rain! If you are a looking a large villa, which is really well equipped and that is in a nice peaceful location, you wont beat this one. We have never been to the same villa twice in the past but we loved this one so much we may return one day! Also the booking process was very straightforward thanks to Kostas at Etouri villas. He always responded quickly to my questions and his assistant Sophia was on hand throughout our holiday should we need to ask any questions.
