The garden is amazing. Every room has it's own hammock and sitting area. Super close to the beach and Montezuma centre but still reasonably quiet. Everything you need!

Room feels a bit damp. Could use a thorough cleaning / renovation.

clean, proper and quiet hotel next to.restaurants, a bus station and supermarket

we booked a ‘luxury 40 sqm room’ and got a dark and humid one with no sun on the terrace. Internet TV didn’t work most of the time. The owner didn’t allow us to change the room although there were daily check outs.

Beautiful location, couldn't be any better. Victoria did the best job!! We loved staying at hers, we felt like home.

Lots of mosquitoes inside the cabin, the price is a bit high for what you get (no hot water either).

We stayed for 3 nights in Montezuma and had a gorgeous time at this hotel ! Nice, big rooms with a daily room service! The location is at the beach and directly in town, but still quiet. We loved it !

The view and hammock, parking space partly sun screened

Not called the Happy Snapper the first thing the owner told me on arrival, it only has the Spanish name. Very noisy town/area, 3 sleepless nights meant we left the accommodation 2 days early. The room advert said the room had a balcony, but this was not a private balcony for the room-which is what the advert meant and the listing must be changed as the guests from the other rooms had to walk through our part of a long shared balcony to leave or enter. Hosts seemed tired of the guests. We were told off for leaving a cushion overnight on a chair on the balcony instead of leaving it in the hammock, when I clearly didn't understand the difference, Victoria said that the cat can spoil it, if it's left on the chair!! No fridge in room- what used to be the kitchen had a communal fridge. No cooking facilities or hot water drink-making facilities at all on the premises. We both found Victoria's behaviour uncomfortable, she was abrupt and unfriendly-Instead of asking us if we wanted the room cleaned, she would sneak into our room daily to check it, when we weren't there, even though she saw us on the way out, so she could have easily asked our permission. Sorry to keep moaning.. very uncomfortable bed. Pay more money and go somewhere else.

No hot water, bathroom in a very bad state

great location but signage made us feel uncomfortable for theft in the area. the front desk was awesome in allowing later check out. very close to walking for shopping and dining. pretty garden and ocean views.

water pressure was terrible in sink and shower. didn’t feel safe to leave any valuables in room. beach access from property was hard to walk on but not far from easier access down the street. seemed more like a mid grade hostel than any kind of hotel which is what we expected when booking.

Great location in town, lovely views of the sea from the bedrooms with a hammock outside each room to relax in. It is fairly basic but has charm.

The walls are very thin so you can hear everything but it is lovely to hear the sea. Not so great to hear the barking dogs at sunrise!

Very central to the village, close to the beach and lovely hammocks in front of the room.

I love the size of the rooms. They were very spacious with high ceilings. I also love the sound of the ocean crashing against the rocks right outside my window. The hammock is very comfortable. They are made of thick braided material. Sort of like a braided rug.

I had a creature fluttering around my room on the second night. I had to leave the light on so it would stop flying. He was probably there the first night also. The thought of that just freaks me out.

the host is super friendly and nice, she gives great advices to what to see and what to do. I highly recommend her hostel

The staff was very friendly, the view in your hammock on the balcony is so soothing and relaxing. There is also a fridge for your items.

Maybe a but expensive for the comfort of the room, but its Costa Rica, its what it is.

The owner is very nice and accommodating. We were able to check in early and she offered to let us check out late too although this wasn't necessary. The location Is right in the Center of montezuma and the room was clean.

There was no hot water in the shower only cold, which was ok but I couldn't find this information anywhere in the listing. We only found out when we arrived which isn't really ok. The place and garden doesn't really look like the pictures. The garden is quite untidy and the beach directly on the property is not really accessible or suitable for swimming. There was incredibly loud music coming from the neighbouring bars until 3am. We had industrial earplugs but could still hear the music quite clearly.

Loved the hammocks and terrace is such a nice and relaxing touch. Location is amazing! We could walk down to the rocks and then had the choice of going left or right, beach on either side :). Although there was no air conditioning it didn't matter as the fans were good quality and the room stayed fairly cool at night.

Woke up on our last morning to a bat flying in circles above us. Not the best experience as the presence of bats are usually an indication of some kind bug infestation.

The location is wonderful, but it is the only thing you will like about this place. You can hear the sound of the sea by your room, and it’s very close to the restaurants and the little markets around.

The smell was terrible on the property surrounded by cats and other animals, also the room smells very bad, the bed and the pillows were terrible. There’s no hot water neither air conditioning. Definitely wasn’t worthy your money ($45/day).

Nice to hear the ocean and see the sunrise in the morning

- Most of the things are pretty old and need to be replaced or repaired. Would be lovely to sit in the garden… Our room wasn’t very clean, spider nets in every corner, dead moskitos on the wall… - Very loud at night, the noise comes from the restaurant on the other side (one night till 4am) - We didn’t get any explanations from the owner (e. g. about cutlery or shared fridge) - Was our worst stay during four weeks in Costa Rica

Great location with wonderful view of waves crashing on beach right from shared back porch, the hammocks were a nice touch, and the owners were very kind and helpful. The communal fridge and fans were nice as well, and got to dry some wet clothes on the lines in the backyard. Again the location is great, walking distance from waterfalls, close to center of town (loud music playing at night), beach walks and restaurants (we love Sodas). We had a lovely visit (5 nights) despite the cockroach, ants and bats and the shabbiness of the place.

The place could use a more thorough cleaning. There was a pile of dead ants in the corner of the room, and a few live ones in the bathroom. we experienced a cockroach our first night, it was chased under the bed, and then never seen again. The place has great overall architecture, but it seems to be falling into a little discrepare. There was a bat that got in our room our last night, and disappeared into a crack near the high ceiling, it, or another bat, appeared again early in the morning, made me wonder how many were flying around during our sleep, the owners informed us the bats were harmless to humans. Finally, there was loud music being playing across the street late into the night. It comes in through the rafter windows. Some nights the music was good, but still, can’t turn it off. We still had a very lovely stay here (5 nights), it’s a mixed bag.
