Close to Anchorage by Alaska terms, no will figure that out when you get to Alaska. Day trips to the surrounding area are pretty simple, Virgin river falls is really neat and very close.
The home is very well stocked compared to other rentals I have been in. Plenty of games and toys for inclement weather. The stairs will give you a workout. It seemed that we were always running up and down the three flights of stairs. Overall for the price, its well worth it. Its definitely a remote cottage/rental though. There are some "repairs" that gave us a laugh when we saw them. The bedding was clean and warm, dual kitchens was nice and the view of the mountain on the top floor is fantastic. Checkout instructions were simple and not a lot of work. Clean up your mess, leave the bedding on and be on your way. If going back to Girdwood we would definatly rent again.

Please be advised that there was a leak on the 1st floor coming in from usage from the bathroom, the leak is very close to the beds, 3 beds could not be used. The bathroom could not be used!!! This leak apparently has been there for a while and not been addressed. Fridge had a sign that it was due for maintenance and did not work, washer and dryer same not working and had a sign due for maintenance. Hot tub be very careful has an issue with the electrical circuit!!! Do not go in as it has not been calibrated and could shock. I was advised this from the property manager after I asked why the water was dirty and not been cleaned!!! I was told that they would credit for the trouble but did not!!! Be careful with this one. We had 14 people and only had access to one bathroom and no laundry facilities. Also no heat on 2nd floor.

We rented this property with the hope of using the washer and dryer but they were broken and unusable. One of the fridge was not working as well and the unit was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival. The carpet was not vacuumed, and there was mold in the joints where the kitchen sink was joined to the countertop. Additionally, there were Solo cups with names written on them in the cabinets which led us to believe that they were just rinsed and put back when in face they should have been discarded. The dishwasher had wet dishes in them too. We raised a complaint with Vacasa and they did refund some money back but the living experience was not great.

Overall, we really love the house in Girdwood. There were a few things that could be improved upon. We had no hand soap, not enough towels, not enough toilet paper, and the washer and dryer were out of service and appear to have been for the last two years since the last time that we rented this house. This is an amazing house for a large group like ours. We had 5 adults and 10 children. The kids really enjoyed the hang out space on the first floor. The top floor is open and spacious enough for everybody to hang out while cooking, or play group games.

The location was great -house need furniture upgrades ! Was clean. Lots to do. Has all the things needed for a great trip.

There was a leak in the ceiling, coming from the 2nd floor bathroom. When I called to report the leak I was sent to Vacasa’s corporate line and no one came to check on anything. The house needs some maintenance and it seems as though the owners do not care.

This home is in a great location to experience all things Alyeska. Home has plenty of character and plenty of space. Property management team very responsive and easy to work with.

We’ve stayed in large houses rented for groups of our friends on ski vacations and have rented a wide range of accommodations in the United States and abroad. Chateau Cervin, while adequate, ranks at the bottom of the list of accommodations, at least if you take the owners at their word and fill the place up. First, it’s old and in need of an upgrade. Everything from beds to fixtures, to the kitchen is about a generation out of style, and a bit tatty. We actually fix most of our meals at the house, and the kitchen equipment is mostly outdated and inadequate. A knife sharpener, or some sharp knives, would have been a nice touch.
The organization of the structure is unusual and inconvenient. The living quarters are all on the second and third floors, and the game room, largely unutilized, is the entry room. The foosball table is a nice addition, but it’s missing men that would make it usable. The pool table is in poor repair.
The hot tub, an older model whose jets don’t work, is downstairs, in front, so that you’re on view getting in and out, and your own view is of the driveway.
It would have been nice if the door to the bathroom in the master bedroom latched and didn’t swing open when you were using the facilities.
Chateau Cervin is like a lot of ski rentals – fixed up just enough so that it can be rented, but not actually fixed up. We’re a pretty rough and ready group, but Chateau Cervin was a little too rough and not really ready.

Had a group of 12 stay in this large home. Plnety of space to spread out, game area with pool table and fose ball table was a hit! Short drive to Alyeska resrot and also Girdwood brewing. Had a great time

More than enough comfortable beds for our growing family. First floor game room was a hit with kids and adults. Foosball table should have been replaced 5 years ago when we first rented this house. Same one is still there in even worse shape and unusable. Lots of card/ board games as well as many books for kids and adults. Many kid toys for boys and girls. Numerous maintenance items that need attention were given to house manager before we left.

This place offers ample space for a large group, and we particularly enjoyed the amenities like the pool table and spacious kitchen. However, it's worth noting that one of the bedrooms on the third floor has an opening into the living room. This design may allow noise from the living room to travel into the bedroom. Therefore, it's ideal for someone comfortable with potential noise disturbances, they basically have to be a night owl and an early riser. We didn't use the hot tub, so I can't speak if it was working or not. Overall, I would stay there again.

Overall clean house, linens and towels. Plenty of room for everyone.
Now the bad. House was set to 55 degrees prior to arrival and only 1 of the 2 stoves you're supposed to supplement heat with worked and only in a very small space (about 5sq ft). The hottub (a selling point) did not work and was found to be tripping its own breaker.
2 of the 3 showers leak. 1 onto the floor and into the ceiling of the bathroom below it. The other in the ensuite has a crack in the shower floor; it and the toilet both are leaking into the downstairs gaming room (garage), we laid towels down to catch the drips below the ceiling damage.
Dishwasher still out of service (that's ok, we can hand wash), some drawers and many lights were broken/not functioning. Some leftover goodies in one of the toliets. A tired house with minimal upkeep, no one is sneaking around in this house. If 1 person is up, everyone is.

The house was a good size for our group and nice to be able to spread out a bit. The location was great for doing day trips to the area around and very quiet at night. There's a lot of going up and down so keep that in mind for elderly or people with mobility issues in your group.
We had a lot of water leakage issues in the bathroom and kitchen - everytime the dishwasher was used, it'd leak water from above the sink and down all over the ground. We woke up to a sopping wet kitchen mat each morning but it seems to be an ongoing issue as theres dark water marks in the floor under the mat. The upstairs bathroom would stream water out along the rubber lining in the back of the shower and get all over the floor, no matter how down facing the shower head is.
The hot water tank isn't quite sufficient for the group size. It was always a race on which 4-5 people would get a lukewarm/cold shower each night despite waiting an hour for water to warm up in between.
The two twin beds under the stairs on the ground floor are probably better for little kids who don't weigh a lot. The people sleeping there ended up getting hot dogged because of the sagging of the wire frame.
Hot tub was nice for end of the day!

This house is great for multi families. We were in town for a wedding and shared this home with my brother’s family (could have easily shared with 2 more families). We had everyone over for dinner and all the kids hung out on the first floor while the adults talked & hung out on the third, it was perfect! Plenty of bathrooms. Plenty of towels. Big kitchen (actually it had two but we only used the main one). Lots of extra blankets to snuggle with on the couch. Close to town & quick drive to lots of beautiful hikes. The cons would be: dryer needs to be updated or fixed only dries on very high heat (so I just didn’t dry the clothes all the way and laid them out, for towels it was fine). Screen door needs to be fixed but we just laid it against the door frame.
We would stay here again if we were sharing with another family.

Great property! Only thing was the grill was extremely dirty and a fire hazard, it really needs a good cleaning. The bathroom sink upstairs is difficult to turn off. Overall though a great experience.

Disappointing
No TV due to not updating after cable was no longer available and the two DVDs didn’t work either. Management agent came the 2nd day & replaced the DVDs, and hooked up a Roku on one of the TVs. Foosball table & slot machine are broken. Additional fees were excessive, nearly doubled the nightly rate. House is dated and a disappointment in comparison to the price. Decorative bricks at front door are heaved/uneven & several in our party tripped and fell.

Nice place, needs updating and TLC
It was a nice e ouch place and the kids had fun. But some things were wrong that I am surprised the cleaning crew just ignored. Multiple lights are out, especially in the bathrooms. The door to the kitchen cabinet holding cleaning supplies did not close. It was a trip hazard and a safety hazard if you had young kids. We tied it shut with plastic wrap. The propane for the grill was empty. That happens and they offered to reimburse us to replace it, but a curveball while in the middle of making dinner. An extra should be kept. Finally the handrails going from the second to third floors are loose and unsteady. The foosball table is so broken as to be useless.
Communicating with Vacasa was easy and they even went to go look
For a lost item for us.
Overall, nice beds, the kids likes the hot tub and had fun. But the house needs some renovations are more care by the cleaning crew.

Great location
The place was great experience. We had 10 people total and had plenty of room. The 3 floor layout was great so everyone had their own space. Roads were easy to get around and a straight shot back to anchorage.
Great daily view of the mountain and everyone loved the area.

Wonderful!
Loved the property! Perfect for the whole family. The heat was tricky to figure out, one stove in the game room never worked and left the down stairs very cold. Neither TV had access to Netflix and neither DVD player worked. A few little things like that could use some TLC but over all we would absolutely stay here again!

Chateau Cervin
Great place! Awesome for a large group. View is great of Max’s Mountain, close to the base, Bake Shop and Girdwood Brewery around the corner! Also has the foosball and pool table downstairs and the hot tub to relax in. Only a couple things I would note, hot tub jets a bit week and gas fireplace upstairs did not work. Otherwise as noted above, awesome place to stay!

Not anywhere near what is advertised on line. Talk to Vacasa. Dirty carpet, husband had to fix the disposal, there was a blender blade in it. Had to go buy paper plates as unable to use dishwasher due to disposal. Fireplace on third level doesn’t work. We were cold. Blinds broken in bedroom as well as closet door. We were grossed out and would not stay or recommend this rental. It’s obviously for people that don’t care where they lay their head.Seven calls to their customer service and no action. We were duped. . There is a fly problem as well as cobwebs. Carpet on third floor was discussting.the list goes on.

This house was perfect size for my large family to have a great weekend together. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the baby items were appreciated (highchair, pack n play).Just an FYI for people looking into staying here, there are A LOT of stairs so plan to be going up and down nonstop during your visit. We really did have a wonderful time, however, there were some things that were less than desirable about the property. - When we first arrived, there was a bag of trash left on the outdoor stairs that an animal had obviously gotten into, so we had to clean that up first thing.- There were only 2 garbage bags left in each kitchen for us. When you’re housing and feeding 15 people for a long weekend, this isn’t anywhere near enough garbage bags. Especially since we had to use one from the start to clean up the trash on the stairs. We had to go buy more on our own. - There was not enough toilet paper to get through the weekend for this many people.- None of the remotes for the TV’s had batteries, we had to take our own out of personal things we brought. - There were no cleaning supplies whatsoever. A spray cleaner to use on the counters after cooking and eating would have been really nice. A broom or vacuum would have also been nice with a house full of small kids making messes we couldn’t clean up.- Many of the lamps in the house didn’t have bulbs or even working knobs to turn them on.- The foosball table was broken and unusable.

Overall, we had a good trip. If you have a large group this place could do well for you. There is a room on the bottom with four single beds that would be great for a group of kids.It has a two kitchens (small kitchen second floor, main kitchen on top/third floor). We had lots of room and the table was good for games. The place was clean and the beds were good. In addition to that multiple bed kids room, there are 4 other bedrooms. Our biggest problem was with communication. I tried emailing and texting starting two days BEFORE our visit. Contacted manager each day of our visit. I never once received a response of any kind. They also ask that you take your trash with you. Not to a dumpster a short walk away either, but to one far enough you need to drive. For our visit, the internet did not work which hampered some of our plans. The foosball table in the pictures is not playable if you are competitive. Some missing pieces or ones with no legs, and a missing handle. I was looking forward to foosball. We did not try the pool table. The hot tub worked and was nice, but I wish it had a better view than the driveway. So no internet, no foosball, and no communication knocked a pretty nice place down to 3 stars.
