Location and choice of beers
The tiny bathroom was not good. Neither was the situation were we booked and paid for two extra breakfasts for friends to join us. The friends motorbike broke down and they couldn’t make it. When we informed the hotel they refused to give us a refund. We had to eat two extra breakfasts😀

Very cosy, warm and welcoming. Perfect location to get away from it all. Had the chicken curry special - it was delicious! 😃

Very warm. Excellent ales behind the bar. The dormitory was very comfortable and warm.
Some of the food had to be sent back as it was cold. One of the staff members was quite insistent that they didn’t let anyone in until 0830 for breakfast. I was 5 minutes early stood in the cold porch and there was a lot of face pulling when I persuaded them to let me in

Good Food and Drinks!
For all C2C walker! Tanhill is 4.75 miles off the track and there is no pick up service! The hint in cicerone waking guide is wrong

The location was and has always been amazing
The whole stay at Tan hill was disappointing! The rooms are not value for money, the bath takes 2 and half hours to fill up ! Cobwebs all over. The food service was disappointing no steak knife given,. Food wasn't at its best, the out side area was filthy, We were kept awake till 3 am by camper van residents staying, breakfast was dumped on the table, we didn't get a choose on the full English just got what we were given! We could off saved waste if we were asked what we would like on our breakfast, Iv been coming to Tan hill for over 40 years with my family, iv worked at Tan hill so am fully aware off how it works and how busy it can be, Iv never been so disappointed, and at £230 a night I wouldn't off expected a cleaner room.

Great location, remote, and very nice
Was put in bunk room, which was okay to be fair, but unfortunately the one other guest was a hiker with very smelly feet. Not the hotels fault, but not very pleasant.

Sunny weather for my trip to this iconic remote pub on the Pennine Way. Good food and great atmosphere in the characterful building. With a folk singer in the evening. Comfortable room. Taking the air by walking a few hundred yards of the Way in the evening. The pub is the centre of activity in the rugged landscape. Great views. The roads are a joy on the motorbike. A great stay!
Only one server for both bar and restaurant in the evening. She apologised for the slow service. The electrics for the bathroom all went through the main shower switch. Seemed to be the only way to get the extractor fan to stop!

Location is simply amazing, building is beautiful, open fire, great food, comfortable bed, amazing shower.
One of the staff was a bit off with me at breakfast after asking where the tea was.

Absolutely fantastic, view's, the staff, food, the atmosphere, exceptional service and the rooms are wow! Room 1 the bathroom is out of this world 😔 and could not get the Mrs out!! The views, well we wanted to see the sun set, but no we were so relaxed we were asleep! Didn't even see the sun rise as slept like babies!! Could hear a pin drop, no traffic noise just sheep!! Absolute total relaxation and recharge of our batteries, was hoping for heavy snow ❄️ but July no chance! Just wanted to be stranded, all I can say is add it to your bucket list you won't be disappointed 🤪

The location was absolutely stunning—we loved the proximity to the Pennine Way. Our rooms were clean, newly remodeled, just lovely. The pub and restaurant were atmospheric and cosy with delicious food.
4.3
Beautiful pub with amazing food. Room as lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was great the next morning.
One particular staff member was very rude and it felt like we were an imposition to her. Very unfriendly and was such a shame as we’ve been looking forward to our stay at tan hill for weeks.
4.3
The breakfast was very good.
Could have been a few more meal choices and maybe a sandwich meal for earlier in the day.

Location
It was overpriced but I guess they can do this cause of the location
4.3
The room was comfortable and clean.
The Breakfast Chef was rude and arrogant to the point he made his own toast and coffee in the breakfast room whilst a full room of people waited for their breakfast, me included. The breakfast was also booked the night before for 8.30am. The literature/website says breakfast from 8am but according to the Chef it is 8.30am so be warned!
I left without breakfast as it didn't arrive in time, in fact I don't know whether it ever arrived. The Chef made me move tables because I had sat down too early to suit him. An interesting action as the young waiter hadn't a clue which table each room was seated at!
The room was paid for a month in advance and at a handsome price to then be met with this behaviour in the morning means I would never recommend the Inn. I suppose if you are relying on guests never returning it doesn't matter and hence my formal complaint direct to the Inn a week ago not having been dealt with. That said, they did send a holding email.......
