We didn't have breakfast at the motel, but the location was fantastic - close to the venues we needed to visit and close to cafes and restaurants, shops and the beach.

The room was ok, location was great. Cafe on the beach two doors down is great.

The staff were exceedingly rude and snobbish on check-in. We had been delayed by a day in arriving due to the cyclone and our flight having to stop in Rarotonga. We had notified them via email as soon as possible and they were informed that we were arriving a day late. When we checked in, extremely tired from a 40+ hour flight from Europe the staff seemed most worried about making sure we paid the first night. We were happy to pay, as we had booked the room for two nights, and knew anyway we would charge the lost night to travel insurance, but the staff (possibly owner lady) seemed far more concerned by this than anything to do with our comfort or making us feel welcome. When we told them that we were waiting for my parents to arrive later that night, they were very awkward about it, even though we had booked a two bedroom apartment. They didn't let us know that there was a driveway for them to access our room directly or give us any kind of helpful information. Despite having several bags, and the complex being relatively large, they didn't bother to show us the room, or walk us to it - just pointed in the vague direction and said 'up that path'. When my parents did arrive a few hours later (delayed by slips and closed roads due to Cyclone Gabrielle), we were both napping (unplanned but jet-lag got us), and the staff refused to tell them where we were staying, so that they could find out room, despite having specifically told them we were waiting for them and that they would need parking. My parents ended up having to knock on doors to find us. The room itself was fine, but we had expected something more upmarket. The whole place felt like a glorified motel, with snobby owners instead of a 4 star accomodation. The overall impression I got of this place was one of misplaced snobbishness, arrogance and people who didn't really want to be in the hospitality business.
