J'étais logée dans une annexe de Homestay Pachamama. La chambre était basique mais confortable. Comme j'étais seule à l'étage j'avais la salle de bain pour moi. Le restaurant est agréable et la carte comme le petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Ludwig passe pendant le dîner pour remettre une carte du canyon lorsqu'on fait le trek, donne des conseils et répond aux questions. Il s'occupe aussi de réserver le bus pour quitter Cabanaconde.

L'eau chaude de la douche ne fonctionnait pas. Quelqu'un devait venir pour réparer mais ce n'a pas été le cas.

Jolie chambre au premier étage donnant sur le patio. Seule à l'étage, j'ai pu avoir la salle de bain pour moi. Terrasse avec hamac pour se reposer. Restaurant très bon, en particulier les pizzas excellentes. Comme ce n'est pas la saison touristique, il y avait peu de monde et c'était très calme. Comme convenu, le bus touristique pour Chivay est venu me chercher à l'hôtel.

Sehr schöne Zimmer und super leckeres Frühstück mit selbst gebackenem Brot! Tolle Tourenberatung und man bekommt sogar eine Wanderkarte geschenkt! Sehr nette Inhaber, alles toll und liebevoll hergerichtet und gestaltet, sodass man sich sehr wohl fühlt. Gepäck kann kostenlos während der Mehrtageswanderung aufbewahrt werden. Wir haben uns, weil wir uns so wohl fühlten entschieden nach der Wanderung nochmal eine Nacht hier zu buchen.

This is the best stay in the area. Beds comfortable and shower good. Staff helpful and speak several languages and give good tips. Food there is a little expensive but generally good.

We thought the breakfast while nice was a little miserly, the cheese was excellent and the home made bread too, but the amount given was very small.

Aufenthalt bei Pachamama war traumhaft! Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Ludwig und sein Team sind sehr sehr nett, hilfsbereit und herzlich. Lage ist super und man erhält viele hilfreiche Tipps für anstehende Wanderungen im Canyon. Es werden auch viele Transportmöglichkeiten angeboten, z.B. nach Cusco. Alles wird super in Absprache mit Ludwig erklärt. Frühstück und Essen allgemein war top! Es gibt ein paar Hunde, die ziemlich brav sind. Ein paar auch ein bisschen verspielt ;) Einer seiner Hunde ist uns sogar tapfer durch den Canyon gefolgt :D Nach unserer Wanderung haben wir 1 Nacht verlängert und eine seiner Transportmöglichkeiten nach Arequipa verwendet. Pachamama ist von allen Hostels in denen wir bis jetzt waren definitiv Top-Tier!! Können wir jedem der plant in Cabanaconde zu bleiben wirklich nur empfehlen :) Danke!

Die kreativen Energien sind hier zu bemerken.. rein nach Mother Earth 🌍 ich hab es geliebt dort zu schlafen u die Mega leckere Pizza zu essen.. aus eigenen Steinofen.. lasst euch überraschen

Fijne bedden, heel vriendelijk personeel. Ludwig weet veel over de omgeving en had ook een gezamenlijke taxi voor ons geregeld naar Cuzco! Nette kamers! Erg lekker eten, verse pizza's uit eigen oven. En in ochtend vers eigen gebakken brood. Douche was lekker warm.

Excellent staff, really helpful with information on tours and what to do! Beds are comfy and food was nice. Extra Bonus is that Ludwig helped us get out the Canyon when my wife got sick.

The place is really clean and aesthetically pleasing. I enjoyed staying in the restaurant when they turned on the pizza oven, it gets warm and cozy. For the breakfast they had homemade bread (rare asset for the area, I rarely found good quality bread) and a delicious orange jam, among others. Hot shower was working well, the bed and the pillow were comfortable. I also enjoyed the company of the pets they have. We got 2 "guide" dogs with us on the 2 day trek in the canyon, it was a nice experience. Upon return from the canyon you can also pay for a shower (it was 8 soles with towel provided), you can rent trekking poles at a fair price and they provide free luggage storage.

Not a critique, but something to consider when you come here: the rooms are not heated, so bring warm clothes. You can pay by card at the homestay, but with an additional 5%. If you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs because it can get noisy in the morning if there are many guests + one neighbor rooster with an early singing schedule :)

Welcoming and informative owners, beautiful environment, clean room, good value for money

Ludwig and his partner were great hosts. Helping with everything from free advice and maps on independent treks in the Colca Canyon, to packed lunches with their amazing home made bread to the beautifully presented shop they have on site in the hostel! They allowed us to store our bags whilst we did a multi day trek in Colca Canyon and were able to have a well deserved hot shower on our return (for 5 soles as we weren’t staying another night). We just loved the set up (including attached restaurant) and hospitality!

Mooi en fris hostel in Cobanaconde. Goede kamers en faciliteiten. Eigenaren hebben het met veel zorg opgezet. Bieden info om zelf te gaan hiken in de colca canyon - hebben hiervoor zelfs een eigen routekaart. Goed eten (pizza oven waar ook vers brood in wordt gebakken).

Alles, locatie, vriendelijke personeel, de uitgebreide informatie en tips die je krijgt ter voorbereiding van je hike, het lekkere eten, de goede bedden, het ontbijt. Kortom: alles.

Schönes Homestay, in dem man sich direkt wohl fühlt. Perfekte Ausgangslage für Wanderungen in den Colca Canyon. Zum Frühstück gibt es selbst gebackenes Brot und auf Wunsch ein Lunch Paket. Zum Abendessen wird leckere Steinofenpizza (ca. 12$) angeboten.

Alles was schoon en netjes. Leandro is een leuke host. Hij geeft alle tips die je nodig hebt om een prachtige trekking te maken.

Pachamama was very clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Leandro, were very helpful and friendly. The onsite restaurant was great, especially the wood-fire pizzas after hiking in the Colca Canyon for a few days. We stayed for a night on either end of our Colca Canyon trip and I'm glad we did!

Homestay Pachamama provided a wonderful overall experience. The bedroom was notably cozy and I particularly appreciated the abundance of nice blankets that were provided, ensuring a warm and comfortable night's sleep. The restaurant, with its charming evening pizza service, created a delightful atmosphere. Our choice of seating next to the pizza oven not only added to the ambiance but also kept us warm throughout the evening. The breakfasts were a highlight, offering a diverse array of options to start the day on a positive note. The staff at Homestay Pachamama truly stood out for their exceptional service. Their guidance and assistance were invaluable, especially when it came to planning our self-guided trek into Colca Canyon. Hele fijne plek. Fijnste bed sinds 2 maanden zuid Amerika. Fijne douche. Vriendelijke mensen. Lekker eten

Ze weten dat ze monopoly hebben en hier zijn de prijzen ook naar. De communicatie vooraf vonden we onvoldoende. Er werd aangegeven dat er in Cobanaconde geen atm is, maar dat je bij hen kon pinnen, maar hierbij laten ze de 5% commissie achterwege... En aangezien alles vrij duur is, is dat nog best veel. Zeg dat gewoon even. Ook vroegen we naar de mogelijkheden en kosten over vervoer Cusco. Kwamen er toen we er al waren pas achter dat het 85 dollar pp was (vanaf 8 personen) er dat je dit contant moest betalen. Dat hadden we natuurlijk niet mee, dus uiteindelijk heel duur moeten pinnen in Chivay om alsnog de taxi te kunnen betalen. Persoonlijk vonden wij 85 dollar pp bij 8 personen ook belachelijk duur. Excuus is dat ze het een tour noemen. Nou de taxichauffeur kon geen woord Engels, heeft in het Spaans ook geen info gegeven onderweg en is 2 keer kort gestopt. We hoefden niet te eten, ivm tijd. Vooraf met zn allen afgesproken, maar aangezien de taxichauffeur gratis kon eten als hij mensen bracht, moesten we toch in een restaurant eten. Ook de tour naar de condors (20 min met de bus) kostte 30 Sol pp, bij 11 personen. Ook vrij prijzig (meer dan van Arequipa naar Cobanaconde (6 uur), maar het was het verder wel waard.

L emplacement est top. Bon c est pas grand non plus la petite ville. Les pizza sont top. Le patron est sympa. Faites attention il fait très chaud pour les treks maintenant. Plein soleil. Cela tape fort et fatigue. Le lit est confo. Bon déjeuner.

Pas de miroir dans les douches et chambres. Pas d eau chaude. Le plomb sautait tout le temps. Prix très élevé 25 e pour une nuit. Surtout dans ce trou perdu.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in Pachamama towards the end of October. We were keen to hike in the canyon and LUCKILY by chance found Pachamama online that encourages people to solo hike. (We were all geared up to book ourselves on to a tour as a last resort as there is basically no other reliable info online to hike yourself). Before we arrived Ludwig was so helpful about providing us with all options of hikes available for the time we had. He was also so helpful in assisting us to arrange onward transport to Puno (as there is no public bus available). When we arrived Leandro sat us down, provided us with maps of the canyon and trails available for us to take. They also arranged a taxi for us to return to the hostel. The food is delicious (pizza, the breakfast of fresh eggs and avocado and they also offer take away lunch sandwiches using their own baked bread). It is a great place to meet other travellers and could arrange to hike with others if you are keen to do so. To top it all off we were lucky to take part in the first chicha making demonstration and were treated to a beautiful gift from Naama. For anyone thinking of going to Cabanaconde and trekking the canyon - DO IT and stay in Pachamama!!

Une équipe au top, hyper disponible et à l'écoute de nos différentes demandes (baggagerie, conseils pour le trek du Canyon de Colca, laverie ...) Chambres hypers conforts et communs super sympa (rooftop et hamac !)

Super lief en behulpzaam personeel, die er ook voor zorgen dat je je hike veilig kunt doen (van te voren een briefing) en goed met je meedenken. Lekker eten ook!

The staff was great and provided a lot of important hiking information and maps. The food there was also good. The room was simple, but comfortable for the short stay.

The prices on food and drinks were a little higher for the area. I would recommend buying water and items for your hike in shops around town, but it was convenient to have things there in the hotel.

We cannot recommend Pachamama hostel enough! We were advised to stay here by a friend as it is the best place to start trekking the Colca Canon. We arrived with no definite plan for trekking but Leandro was there to the rescue - a very friendly face from the very beginning when we arrived late,  Leandro sat us down, introduced us to other travellers and served us a delicious pizza before fully briefing everyone on the canyon area, the routes, and offering group and personalised advice. Leandro was so kind to allow us to alter our dates to stay recommending a night in the Canyon. This kind gesture made our trip so special and the Canyon was breathtaking. We even got a room upgrade for no extra cost. The beds were the most comfortable that we've had on our trip to date (2 months in), hot showers, excellent breakfast and a good restaurant. There is a nice rooftop area with hammocks to chill. WiFi was pretty poor but I wouldn't expect too much as you are very remote. Above all it was the staff who made our stay in Pachamama Homestay. It was so obvious how tirelessly they work from early morning to late at night to arrange Hikes, taxis, prepare food, mingle with travellers and offer advice to every single person who needs it. Leandro even arranged a private taxi for us and some others to Cusco which was very much appreciated. Thank so much guys - would definitely recommend to all travellers!
