Friendly staff. Nice location. Food lovely and plenty of it.

Shower in my room had no power and only trickle of water.

It is an 18th century building so it is an old building but what they have managed to do with it to bring it into the 21st century is very good. The owners and the staff were very helpful and made you feel welcome and the food is delicious, and you get plenty of it .

There wasn’t really anything bad about it. The drinks was good. The food was good and the company was Good so we were made to feel welcome and it was comfortable.

Old and quirky

Excellent location, close to Ripon, but had the advantage of being a country pub. Enjoyed our meal in the pub too. 

The bed was not totally comfortable.

I was using the facility as a room only while attending a wedding nearby. Even so Chris the Landlord was extremely amenable and nothing was to much trouble for him.

Food.......Excellent menu, cooked from scratch. Very good portions!!! Staff very welcoming. Obviously a good village pub, with regular patrons.

Bathroom a little tired, but certainly adequate. Could have done with a plug socket near the bed to charge phone.

we really enjoyed our stay here. the whole place is full of character. we saw some reviews saying the decor needs updating but for us it was all part of the charm. lovely home cooked, hearty meals and amazing staff

We got stuck in traffic and our host stayed up to let us in, it so so kind. The breakfast was plenty and delicious

The proprietors very kindly allowed our family to get changed for the races earlier than normal check in time, which was much appreciated. We were recommended a taxi service to use - excellent A lovely large family table was provided for an evening meal after we returned from the races, the meal far exceeded our expectations. We slept extremely well and had a great hot bath in the morning. Breakfast could not be faulted, great service, freshly cooked more than enough.

There was nothing we didn't like, however the outside garden space and the rooms could do with a bit of refurb. However that said we would not hesitate to return.
