I liked my sun bed time on the terrace

We fell in love with the accommodation at CASA DO MAR already on our first visit. A small white house with two terraces seems to be suspended directly over the ocean. An evening glass of wine on the terrace with a view of the sun going to sleep in the waves. This is Casa do Mar.

Perfect accommodation. Incredible location with a stunning view. Had every utensil and pieces of equipment you would need when staying away. The apartment is decorated and furnished to a high standard, it's comfortable and is rather homely. A great bar called Joe's bar around the corner and a shop a 5 minute drive away which has everything you need.

it’s a bit tired in places now and needs a little bit of a refresh in places with paint work, the awning was broken. would be handy to have a bin in the kitchen and bathroom

wow! just wow! it’s super clean and comfy with a lot of love to detail! the view is breathtaking and waking up to the sound of the sea incredible. definitely will come back here! the small village of Jardim do mar is just the prettiest of the whole island🥰

Casa do Mar…wow!! Absolutely LOVED our stay. It was perfect all around! Loved the SOUND of the waves, the VIEWS, the LOCATION. We are retired and full-time travelers for 5 years now. Staying all over the world. This place is at the top of our list and we will return. Great little PRIVATE studio. Nice kitchen. We cooked most of our meals here. Great bathroom with plenty of hot water in the shower. All around, clean, tidy, well stocked home. The bed was very comfortable and simply DREAMY to lay in bed, sliding door open and see and hear the Atlantic. And the most special was the cats who visited us. Made our hearts full! We even named them. We enjoyed the little village of Jardim do Mar. It has two little restaurants, a small market and a great promenade to walk. Plenty of free parking and easy walking access to Casa do Mar. It was so fun leaving our ‘signature’ on the outside walls with our handprints. what a great idea. Thanks you hosts for sharing this special sanctuary with us. You definitely have something special here.

the view is amazing, very nice equipped kitchen, the host was super friendly and willing to help with everything.

during winter vawes are huge and it is like sleeping next to a washing machine. right next to the house it is the sport where everybody comes go take a picture. if you dont have a car it is quite problematic to get around the area.

Stunning location in a beautiful village. View and sounds of the ocean are amazing. Apartment is very well equipped and spotlessly clean and hope to return some time soon.

The ocean is very loud, but we got used to it. We drove every day 100+ km around the island because we always want to see everything and in the end it was nice to see again and again the views of Vereda dos Zimbreiros and Paul da Mar from above

Romantic accommodation in a small white house on a slope directly above the sea. The sea lulled us to sleep, at night we heard the crash of the waves, in the morning the sea woke us up again. From every place in the house the sea is visible through large windows, it is also pleasant to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and watch the sunsets.

Some things could be improved in the house, but the stay was so pleasant that I stopped noticing a few shortcomings.

What a delightful place to stay! Being able to sit out on the balcony as the sun sets is pretty special. The facilities are top notch and we'd definitely come back if we come to Madeira again.

Not so much a "not like" but some people might find the steps up to the bedroom a bit steep. Didn't bother us though.

The location and the furnishings of the apartment are fantastic. No matter where you are in the apartment, you always have a great view of the ocean.

Maybe get some decent pans and pots for the really good kitchen. A lot of little ants in the Bathroom and kitchen arrea.

The beautiful sea view, the interior, how clean it was, the communication with the host (answered super fast and friendly), the idea with leaving the habdprints on the inside wall, big balcony, we also had NO problems with the cats!

The bed was a little bit hard and uncomfortable, there was construction work right beside the house when we were there, which was quite loud sometimes, one time we had roaches in the bathroom (but there was „bio kill“ under the sink which killed them!) -> they probably came in through the window, so it‘s NOT the Appartements fault! (The appartment was super clean, but I just thought I should at least mention it) Other than that we had an excellent stay! :)

The view is amazing! Nice little town. The interieur of the little house was just perfect as a couple. We really enjoyed our stay!

There were a lot of cats in the neighbourhood so sometimes it smelled bad on the terrace. In the kitchen we had some troubles with ants.

Next door there’s a ruin full of cats who use it - but also unfortunately the terrace of the Casa do mar - as a toilet...

Our stay at Casa do Mar could not have been better. We enjoyed every second of it and feel sad leaving this magical place. First day we arrived quite late and were absolutely made up to find bits to nibble on and a coffee machine with coffee! The sound of waves crushing at night did not prepare us for the views we saw in the morning. Thank you so much for allowing us to be part of it, we only hope to be able to come back one day again!

Clean and very well equipped. Excellent outside patio with a fantastic ocean view. Excellent place to relax.
