Terrific location, service and value

One of the best stays we had in years. Very professional and sweet people. Food is out of this world. We will definitely revisit.

Great hotel with wonderful service butour room was a bit tired especially the bathroom. Food was excellent and the chef made gluten free food to order. Swimming pool was luxurious like getting into a bath. Located in a good position with a Mall close by.

I stayed with my family for 3 days at Taj Connemara. It was one of our most memorable stays till date in a true global context. Food and dining was truly commendable with a fantastic buffet spread which is serviced by a very courteous and professional team. Special thanks for all the hot South Indian delicacies from the live station. It is a heritage hotel with separate wings based on Indian, Colonial and Oriental themes which is very well curated. Overall it was an amazing stay and kudos to the Taj team. Wah Taj.!!

Very comfortable stay and nice property

It was great to stay at a historic landmark hotel that is maintained to the highest standards. The staff is exceptionally efficient, courteous and helpful. The breakfast and lunch options were simply outstanding. Being centrally located right on mount road it was easy to get around to other places in the city. Highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel and enjoy your Chennai trip.

Wonderful staff. Very attentive and helpful

Nice hotel but lacking attention to detail for the prices they charge. When we checked in the first room offered to us smelt damp so we asked to change, the second room was located next to a service entrance with dirty washing visible and the view from the balcony of the room was directly into the air con unit. The room we were eventually offered was very nice but the issues experienced were disappointing. Afternoon tea was also included in our package, despite being asked to book a time at check-in the person in the bar serving the afternoon tea seemed surprised to see us. We had to wait half an hour during which we sat in the bar which lights flickering, which the way we’re trying to fix. We did eventually enjoy our two night stay, the staff were all very nice and couldn’t have been more helpful. However we had higher expectations for a Taj hotel.

It’s old property the recently remodeled property and the area next to our room looks abandoned and left depleted Brought to Managers notice and provided photos to fix Surprised the great Tata management let it allowed in this poor condition

Excellent hotel and excellent staff. I was allowed to check in early and the staff made me feel welcome. The service was top-notch. Dated to all the request I had. My only concern or giving four stars is that the bathroom was not up to the mark. It was very dated. Looked very very old with spots on the big mirror. There were fewer amenities available than the other Taj Hotels I have stayed in. The bathtub had faded. The lining around the bathtub was not good as as somebody had tried to patch up things. The shower was not up to the mark. Rest everything was great Full marks to the staff and to the cleanliness.

Wonderful old world charm. The Raintree restaurant was excellent. A sumptuous breakfast by the pool in the morning.

At check in make sure you stay on the east side of the hotel, facing the hotel. West side requires renovating and refurbishment. We had to take my wife to hospital to demonstrate she was unwell for us to get a room with a door to let fresh air after two days of 13 day stay. Windows open partially and too stuffy and dusty. Reception try to sell you an upgrade not provide what you had requested. Staff on the ground, poolside, restaurant, house keeping are just amazing. They made our stay great. Some middle managers are amazing when they realized our issues. No need to give names, too many are just amazing. The chef, made us healthy breakfast, just first class. made my wife get better. Would I stay there again? Yes. Feedback is to overall manager to fix issues to get better.

This is my 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel with my family and my experience was amazing. We were treated like we belong to a royal family. For every entry and exit from the hotel, a porter will always be there to open the door for you. I stayed for 2 days and either Saravanan or Saravanan B opened the door for me and helped me loading and unloading the luggage from the taxi. We were greeted by their front desk Rosa and Azmal as if we belong to a royal family. Rosa welcomed us by making us wear a spiritual garland and served a honey-lemon drink, was delicious. We were escorted to our room and our luggage was already sent in our room. They have a restaurant on the ground floor named Veranda. We had both breakfast and dinner in Veranda. Food was delicious and there are have quite a few options from Indian traditional food to Western. They offer buffet in breakfast and if you had the breakfast you won't even need lunch. I don't have words for the hospitality I received from Rishab, Anjali and Bhaskaran. They were with me until I was done with my breakfast asking me if I need anything. Since my family was unable to make it in-person, Rishab arranged a in-room dinning and sent the food as per my wife and kids liking. If I ever again visit Chennai, I will definitely stay in this hotel.

A glamourous oasis of calm in the very centre of Chennai. This hotel is special, and the staff treat you like royalty. A most special mention to the man who looks after the pool during the week - he made the sunbeds for us and even offered to move our things to the shadier aide of the pool when the sun was too hot. A real stand out. Another superstar was Miller.g who truely made us feel like VIPs in the veranda restaurant on our last night. We were most saddened to leave as the staff made us feel like this was our home. We stayed in a heritage room which was beautifully appointed - though perhaps when bookind be mindful that this is the older side of the hotel.

This property is a heritage hotel in Chennai. This property has been updated recently and yet preserves some colonial character. It is clean and modern inside. The kitchen is amazing. Taj breakfast at its best. Staff is very nice and helpful at all times. Rooms are very clean and well maintained

Outstanding factor for our stay over 5 days was the warmth of the staff. Would surely return because of ALL dining staff - Mr Bhaskaran was superbly attentive, concierge Mr Caleb and Balaji and the very first face I encountered at front desk, Mr Salam. I commend them all for excellent service. Makes the stay memorable.
