The hotel public areas and bedrooms have been recently decorated.
We were given room 204. It was a large, bright, quiet, beautiful room overlooking Sefton Park. It would have met the 204 sq feet we paid for and expected.
Unfortunately, we could not stay in the room. I have very little sense of smell, but it stank of what I believe was "sewage". The rooms have inner glazing and although one window had this removed and was open, nothing could take the smell away.
I complained, and we were then given a small double, albeit beautifully decorated, very noisy (overlooking the motorway) room 201 that I know didnt meet the 204 sq ft I paid for. The sink was in the bedroom, and it was overlooked by the staircase from the 3rd floor to the second floor. This meant you had to have the curtains closed and these were blackout curtains.
We were booked for 2 nights and I wish we'd booked a Premier inn instead. It was either have a noisy or stuffy sleep.
The receptionist I dealt with was a nice lady, and I understand she spoke to the manager regarding my complaint. At no time did the manager think to come and speak to us and offer a discount. Its very disappointing, its not a big hotel; guests are not nose-blind. Management should be aware guests will pass on their experiences.

Lovely location over looking park and lake. Nice room and comfortable beds.

Clean . Interesting Beatles memorabilia
Wafer thin walls . £25 security deposit taken immediately but not refunded for 48 hours money making scam getting interest on your money I seems like but I could be mistaken

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was excellent quality for the price paid. Drinks were inexpensive and location was opposite a beautiful park.
Room was a bit tired but for the price paid no complaints.

Comfortable room. Nice location
No way to regulate temperature of the room. Heating came on through the night and the heat in the bathroom was pretty intense

Love the location right by Sefton Park. A good bus service into the city, which we used several times. Very friendly staff

Great location, lovely breakfast, friendly and knowledgable staff.
Our room was at the very top and really too tiny.

Great location. Loads of interesting history attached to the building. Friendly staff, huge room, great facilities. Highly recommended.

great building, right opposite magnificent park and lake. interesting Beatles (Stuart Sutcliffe) related photos and such around place. quite well done.
the room renovation was brand new and spotless - but every element was the absolute cheapest money can buy. cheap fittings, flimsy melamine furniture, cord extensions for electrics. Yet all in a rather beautiful building. crazy penny pinching which I imagine won’t make sense long term

Great location right on the edge of Sefton Park. We enjoyed walking around the park and the location was ideal for our evening out at the Fever Candlelight concert in the park Palm House. Also, great variety of restaurants 15-20mins walk away on Lark Lane.
Generally modern decor and clean, but decorating in the room could do with some TLC as wallpaper was hanging off on one wall and there were a few holes in plaster on another wall and in the bathroom.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, room exceeded expectation.
View wasn't brilliant (top and back of building) but it was quiet and considering there was a function in the basement I would prefer this position.

Breakfast was excellent... didn't need to eat until late afternoon once eaten it. Location great Sefton Park Boating Lake 2 minutes across road....easy route to Liverpool city centre too. Hotel lounge /bar area comfortable and outside seating facilities brilliant in the hot weather to cool off.

Excellent
Well the only thing I didn't like was the fact that I was supposed to be paying there at the property. Yet two days before I checked in the money cane out of my account and made me overdrawn causing me to be charged. I had also paid a bit more for the pay at the property option so it cost me around £50 more when I could have chosen the pay immediately option in the first place. I also sent an email to the hotel after the money had come out complaining about this and had no reply . So whilst the hotel was great when we were there I was unhappy about this and wouldn't return because of this

I booked last minute and it was a pleasant surprise! From the service at the reception, the amenities and cleaning of the room and the entire structure. All very beautiful and functional. In addition to having a beautiful park within walking distance. I'll be back soon!
