This recently renovated single level four-bedroom lakefront property offers tranquil accommodation with tastefully appointed furnishings. With wonderful, elevated lakefront views set above a lush ponga tree canopy leading to one of the best trophy trout lakes in the world.
Stroll down the short private path under the beautiful ponga fern tree canopy to the flat lake edge and a sandy swimming beach. Less than 100 metres in one direction is the Stoney Point Boat Ramp, playground, picnic BBQ area, car parking; the other way is the shared lakefront pumice based Tennis Court and Walking Tracks. Use the tennis racquets to have a game, grab one of the kayaks and head out on the lake to explore or develop your paddling skills on one of the paddleboards on offer - all included in your stay!
The Boat Shed offers easy access from Spencer Road for both cars and boats for the whole family with off-street parking. All next to one of the easiest and least crowded boat ramps in Tarawera.
Once you've settled in, relax on the sun-drenched deck and enjoy the sound of native birds, the waves on the sand and the spectacular views of Mt Tarawera. Cook a pizza, roast, or coal BBQ meat in our wood-fired oven!
Inside, there are polished timber floors, and entertainers wrap around sofa, large square boat shed timber dining table with leather chairs and log fireplace create an elegant atmosphere. The open plan granite kitchen is fully equipped with quality non-stick crockery and utensils and a Nespresso Coffee Machine. Separate TV/Playroom with 60 inch HD TV, Playstation 4, DVD player and Sky TV (including sports channels) make a comfortable stay for the whole family.
Lake Tarawera is only a short 5-minute drive to the Blue and Green Lakes, 8 minutes to Lake Okareka, 15 minutes to Rotorua, 30 minutes to Lake Rotoiti, and approximately 1 hour to Tauranga, Lake Taupo, Karapiro, Hamilton and many more attractions.

The Boat Shed is available for a maximum of 11 guests. To secure your holiday dates a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the rental is payable at the time of booking. The deposit will only be refunded if the house can be relet in the event of a cancellation. The balance of your rental is due 3 weeks before arrival. Please leave the house in a tidy condition. Minimum stay of 3 nights preferred.

We had the most perfect weather for a perfect weekend break. Tarawera was like an exotic holiday even though we live in Rotorua. We had friends pop around to enjoy the lake with us.
The Pizza oven was enjoyed by all and BBQ dinners did not disappoint.
Teenagers enjoyed the Xbox when not eating or on the lake. The hot tub

We loved the character of the boat shed. Good fire wood supply, and panel heaters, kept the house cosy and warm. Beds were comfortable. Freya was very easy to communicate with. We were very appreciative of the late check out. We would happily stay again, a beautiful spot looking over the lake.

We loved our stay! There was room for everyone with plenty of indoor and outdoor areas both to be together and to have space away from each other. It was so well equipped and we enjoyed all the little extras provided. The spa and the pizza oven were a hit with everyone.

This house has everything you need for a wonderful weekend away with a group of friends or a large family. Stunning views, comfortable beds, kitchen with all the equipment you could need. It was perfect for 3 couples and a couple of our single friends. Would love to stay again! Highly recommend!

Very private setting & lovely outlook. Our weather was unbelievable for our 5 days so we had plenty of trips down the path to the Lake for a swim.
The house was very homely & comfortable. The water is pumped up from the Lake so the pressure is not great & showers need to have no other water running! We had a family members 80th so a great place for all the family. Pizza oven & spa were awesome.

The location, house and amenities was perfect for us! Our daughter got married at the Black Barn so we had pre wedding photostat the house too! Excellent communication with the owner, as I did ask quite a few questions, however nothing seemed to be a bother to ask 🙏💖

Lucky enough to have a serious foodie in our group who utilized the pizza oven for the most yummy meals. Loved the spa & decking area as well. All in the group commented on the comfy beds. We took the opportunity to walk the lake edge each morning & evening from the property. And we loved our day with Totally Tarawera, an easy stroll to the boat from the house, to enjoy the Wairua hotpool, walk part of the trail and again soak in Hotwater Beach before our return. Such a magic long weekend stay to enjoy some much needed time out for all!

Amazing place to stay! Ticks all the boxes and has plenty of features to make the stay enjoyable. Some feedback… have a word to whoever replaced a window recently in the bedroom next to where bbq sits… one of our friends found glass shards on the mattress protector and got cuts on his hand while doing so… remind them they should have really cleaned that up.
Please also change your advertising in Bookabach app… was misleading us to believe there were 5 bedrooms… one of the couples that were with us were happy to sleep in seperate (bunk) beds so all was well that ended well, though embarrassing for me as I was organising the accommodation for trip away.
So you’re aware… there was no chlorine available to top up the spa pool. We looked everywhere.
Otherwise everything else was perfect! The Pizza oven and spa pool was a massive success/hit with all of our friends… the lakeside in the afternoons was a stunning backdrop for a few drinks and snacks. Loved the outdoor dining area.
We hope to be able to stay again one day soon.

This was an very well equipped house, clean and with fantastic views of the lake and the mountains in behind. There were only six of us so plenty of room. Enjoyed lots of hot tubbing with plenty of privacy. It was great having the lake so close and we had a couple of swims and used the paddle boards and kayaks. Dave (from across the road) was extremely helpful when we arrived.

What a gorgeous spot! Waking up to the view across the lake and the sunrise was just heavenly. Everything we needed was supplied and in hindsight we wished we had booked for longer. If you like a dark room maybe bring something to cover the curtains as the sun did pour in and note one bedroom is not accessible from inside the house but we would 100% return!

We loved every minute of our stay. The house was so well equipped and allowed us to really enjoy quality time as a group. The weather wasn’t fab but the house was so functional that we didn’t feel cramped, and the spa and pizza oven were just fantastic. The ultimate getaway.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this awesome bach. Beautiful spot, enjoyed just hanging out at the house and lake, kids loved the spa. House had a great layout to accommodate us all and a separate lounge for the kids to watch movies. Highly recommend, would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for families
We were a group of 9 (2 families). Beds comfy, warm with the fire and heaters and plenty of blankets. View was beautiful. Loved the seperate Tv room for the kids. Pizza oven and especially the spa added to the experience. Short bush walk to the lake and playground. Perfect spot for holiday in any season ! Thankyou !

Overall really enjoyed our short stay at the boat shed bach.
My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.
Was on the expensive side of things but I would still stay again when the budget allows

Brilliant house in an amazing location. This property has everything you could ever need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Catering for both adults and kids it’s perfect for families and groups of friends. The house delightful and so are the owners - we loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Perfect Spot, Amazing View
The moment we set foot in the house we knew it dm was somewhere special. It has everything we could hope for in a nice relaxing escape from home. Hope to get the overturning to stay again soon.
