About this cabin rental
Enjoy our two-bedroom rustic cabin just a few minutes from Cornell University and Ithaca College.
Surrounded by magnificent hemlock trees and nestled on the hillside above Lake Cayuga, the cabin also has a shale beachfront and dock with use of the kayaks, canoe, and boathouse.
You can focus on water sports or use the cabin as a base for exploring the spectacular scenery (the gorgeous gorges are just minutes away), wineries, restaurants, colleges, museums, Watkins Glenn activities and other treasures of the area.
Although you are only minutes from all that Ithaca has to offer (including Wegman's!), the cabin is a world apart: you feel as though you are in a treehouse--surrounded by hemlocks and rhododendren. A walk down the hillside brings you to the shale beachfront and access to Ithaca's most stunning asset: 40-mile long, 600+ feet deep, glacier-formed Lake Cayuga.
A big advantage of the cabin is its location on the lake but in Ithaca. Most Cayuga Lake cabins are 20-35 miles away from the Ithaca attractions.
We live in the large house on the property but your parking, entrance, beachfront, etc., are all private, we rarely cross paths with the folks in the cabin. We also rent the main house when we are out of town which can hold 8-10 guests.

We enjoyed our time in your cabin. The air conditioning worked well as it was very hot! The lake was beautiful. We also enjoyed the that we were very close to the city with lots of shopping and restaurant options.

My Mom and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it was so peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was just the right size for us and we sat on the back deck a majority of the time and enjoyed the lake view. My only concern was all the steps to the cottage from the parking area and all the steps to the lake. My Mom is older and was not easy for her so we only went down to the lake once.
We had perfect weather and loved every minute of our stay.

We had a lovely time staying at this beautiful cabin on Cayuga Lake. It was very comfortable and the host was extremely helpful and accommodating. Having kayaks and a canoe available for our use was fantastic; the cabin is the perfect distance from the Ithaca Farmer's Market, so we had a lovely morning paddle to a Farmer's Market breakfast with friends. The lake was beautiful, the dock was beautiful, the cabin was charming, and we look forward to staying here again -- hopefully next summer!

Cabin is in a great location a short drive from the Commons and Ithaca College.
The property is steep and natural. Some of the steps and the dock, outdoor furniture and boats could be better maintained and the locations of the boats more clearly explained, but we made it work.
The interior of the cabin is cozy with some vintage furnishings.
Some minor upgrades to amenities like nicer sheets/ bedding and toiletries would make this feel more upscale. I keep bath essentials (soap, shampoo etc) in my travel bag which came in handy.
Notes:
We didn’t find a blender available and brought our own French press though there is a coffee maker. There are some pantry essentials but if you intend to cook you may want to purchase your own.
The closing process includes stripping beds, cleaning and putting away all dishes, taking out recycling, garbage and compost. We brought food in several times and used the dishwasher as well as hand washed.
Overall we enjoyed this spot and recommend.

Location was great, easy to get to. Just the right size for our family of four. Unfortunately on arrival there were dead flies in all areas of the cabin and live ants in many areas, including the beds and shower. We arrived near 10PM and spent time cleaning and killing ants before going to bed. We were on ant patrol most of our stay. The cabin does have a shower, but it's extremely tight for a grown adult. While I didn't expect a 5-star resort, I did expect a clean, bug free place to stay. I'm sure this cabin was great in it's prime, but now needs some attention and regular maintenance. I would not recommend staying here.

Great location and beautiful lake views

We came for an equestrian event. The town’s culture and food is amazing. Staying at this lake house was like staying at my grandparent’s cabin as a child! Checked all the boxes.
4.7
Perfect sized cabin with unbelievable location on Cayuga Lake. Lots of amenities provided for a great day on the lake! We will definitely say again!

The cabin was perfect. Close to everything including Cornell, downtown Ithaca, waterfalls. It was very relaxing, we enjoyed sitting by the lake on the dock, went out in the canoe. Sally was a great host. We would love to stay here again sometime.

It was super peaceful and just a great place to stay. The kids had a blast.
4.7
It was a very peaceful and well equipped cabin. The hosts were very responsive and they left lots of helpful information.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute, clean cabin. While not right on the lake, it is a short walk down to a private beach and dock. I enjoyed sitting by the lake for morning coffee, yoga, and evening drinks. We would stay again.
4.7
As good as it gets for a lake front cottage stay except the owners could not convince any fish to let us catch them. 10 minutes away from Cornell that feels like several light years.
4.7
Lovely hillside cabin overlooking south end of Cayuga Lake. Plenty of living space for 2 couples. Driveway to property is a steep slope. Two flights of stairs from parking area to cabin are challenging.
4.7
Sally and Richard's cabin was the best stay I could've asked for as my partner and I visited the Cornell campus and drove through Ithaca for the weekend. The cabin is situated right on the lake and the views are unmatched. You can see the Cornell campus across the lake from the dock.
The place is only a 10 minute drive from the central Cornell campus. It gets plenty of natural light. And it is welcoming to say the least. When I come back to Ithaca, this cabin will be the first place I check for availability.

Rainy and cold , home needs updating, parking had a challenging entry and exit. Staircase leading from parking are needs to be replaced not very safe. Decks need cleaning and staining.

Convenient location minutes from Cornell. The views from the dock are gorgeous!

Quiet, peaceful. Served the purpose. Driveway hard to locate. Stairs to cabin tough for seniors. 1 bathroom. Furniture needs an upgrade. Kitchen ok. Steep housekeeping fee. Not a clear view of lake

We stayed here with our 4 year old and 6 month old and we absolutely loved it! We really enjoyed being just steps away from the water and loved the homey feel of the cabin. There’s tons to see and do in the area and coming back to the cabin was always a treat. I definitely recommend staying here!

Great getaway
The cabin is as advertised and was perfect for our family of four. We had adequate space, everything was clean, and the kids enjoyed the lake access.

My family stayed Sally’s cabin for a week during our summer road trip. The cabin was wry clean and had everything we needed during out week stay. From cookware, soaps and detergent to kayaks and water shoes, Sally provides all.
The location was also perfect. Our family spend many hours fishing every day from the deck and swim platform. My son loved swimming and catching crawfish too! It is quiet and private, but very close to Ithaca and many amazing state parks!
We had a great pleasure meeting with Sally during our stay. She is so kind and thoughtful, sharing a lot of great places to visit. She also let us fish from the main dock that belongs to the main house while her family were at home.
We absolutely recommend Sally’s cabin to anyone, and we hope to come back soon too!

Beautiful cabin on Cayuga
Great base of operations for all of our Finger Lakes adventures - gorge hiking, wineries, distilleries, great restaurants, and water sports. The cabin has everything you might need, including great and helpful hosts. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Sally & Richard!

We had a lovely time staying at Sally and Richard's lake cabin. The lake was beautiful and the location is just a short 10-15 minute drive from downtown Ithaca. If we're ever back in the area we'd stay again!

My fiancé and I enjoyed are staying at the cabin! It was quiet, clean, was right next to the water, and a lovely home. It was a lot of stairs for someone who may have mobility issues, but other than that, it was a wonderful place!

The cabin was the place I chose to come from Texas and share a weekend with my granddaughter before she graduated from Cornell. It was perfect! Very close to Ithaca, nestled in the forest, looking out over the lake and Fall color. Warm and welcoming, just as were our hosts. I hope to go back someday for my own quiet retreat.
