The house was clean, very comfortable, and located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Most of our stay was well spent enjoying the private beach area and refreshing Cayuga Lake. The lakefront is a short stroll across the quiet road and down a number of steps but is well worth it for the large private waterfront. Our dogs had the best time and were exhausted by the second day of our stay. We would consider this property again for future vacations.

Everything was mostly perfect. One of the ceiling fans I. Family room was not working which wasn’t a problem because it wasn’t hot the week we were there. Would have been if it was hot. A king size bed would have been perfect but bedrooms are small. Other than those two things we had a perfect vacation. Lots of sea glass at dock which was fun finding.

My husband and I stayed at the Buffalo Bungalow in October during the peak color of leaves. The bungalow overlooked the lake with a beautiful view of the sunrise. The place was very clean and comfortable. The grassy slope up to the house was a bit slippery and steep, but other than that, we loved it. We would definitely return.

This property is very spacious comfortable, and in a great location. It was fun for all of us and our dogs had fun too!

Loved this house, needs to be cleaned of its cob webs though. Not only up high but even at eye level and down low. The lakefront access was amazing. The door to get in is up a steep grass hill and was slippery on our wet weekend away. Needs some stairs to get up there.

We had a great time at the Bufflehead Bungalow. Beds were comfortable, plenty of cooking utensils/pots/pans, porch was perfect. Kayaks were nice to use a couple of times over the weekend. Only comment I have is a few of the indoor (living room) and outdoor (Adirondack) chairs have clearly seen some heavy use over the summer and will need replacement soon.

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The location was great, being centrally located in the Fingers Lakes area. It was generally clean and the whole process of booking it was great. However, there were a couple of downsides: there is a basement with foosball and ping pong, which was a lot of fun to play, but it was unfinished and smelt quite musty. Recommend the owners finish the basement to make it nicer and add value. The other downside was the dock. You can't really tell from the ad, but to get to the dock, you have cross a road (not busy at all) and walk down steep stairs. The dock itself was quite rickety and the chairs were old and falling apart. The final downside was the lack of basic necessities like salt, garbage bags, etc. The owners do provide a very small amount of this kind of stuff, and to be fair, they do explicitly recommend to bring your own, but it seems like such a small thing to not provide. Would be much more convenient for guests if these types of basics were simply provided in reasonable quantity. Other than that, it was a nice place, very clean upstairs and perfect for a family or several friends.

Our overall impression of the home was wonderful!! We loved the seclusion/privacy. Central Air would have been nice on a couple of warm nights. The guest upstairs, was uncomfortable sleeping due to no air conditioning. We had an issue with water pressure in the bathroom, but the issue was addressed in a timely manner, at our convenience. We definitely plan to book this property again.

This was a perfect place, location, and no problems at all! The only issue that was so disappointing was the amount of heavy dust and spiderwebs on ceiling fans, corners of ceilings, walls, and baseboards. The essentials were prepared properly but dusting is a must. Would’ve been 5 star rating otherwise.

Had a great stay! We had our golden retriever with us who loved swimming and playing fetch with his frisbee off the dock :) Our 2 and 4 year old kids had fun in the shallow waters and the kayaks were great too. The only negative was that there was no remote to the tv and no one returned our call from property management about it. My husband downloaded an app to turn his phone into a remote which worked fine. Overall would highly recommend and hope to stay again! Thanks Bufflehead bungalow owners for the great trip :)

Buffalo head bungalo was super secluded and relaxing
Shower was broken but that were great about trying to fix it- should be fixed for the next visitor! Also don’t hunt down life jackets, they have them! Bring a metal spatula for the grill!

Great house for small group
Great house particularly the main living area.
Single bathroom should be noted.
No toilet paper or paper towels on check-in. We headed out to buy these supplies…and the management company had entered while we were gone to finish stocking the house. Not sure if that was a one off… but not ideal.

Please buy new real towels and some door rugs
My friends and I had a good overall stay at this property. Pros- location is great, amenities are good, etc. Cons- they have the cheapest, thin, scratchy towels that I would expect from a Motel 6. When I'm paying this much to stay in a vacation home I expect real towels and I'm not a fancy person. I gladly would have brought my own from home. Also there are no small rugs anywhere such as inside the entrance to wipe your feet off of. The house is built into a hill (which I understand is normal around most of the lakes) but there is no stairway up and the grass was wet/muddy/slippery to even walk up/down and then there's no mats inside to wipe your shoes off on. Also the 'driveway' should be marked better as it's hard to tell how to best park on the hill. Overall the home is ok, but def super glossed up professional pics, then these little things really make a difference. The home is clean, equipped but please get actual real towels, washable door side mats, etc. Also please have more than just 2 small pillows for the seating area and some fluffy blankets to make it homey. It just didn't have a cozy vibe that it really could if these things were added. The location is great but we would not stay here again and it's nothing that we would have complained about DURING our visit- really just feedback for the company to please address for future people.

We had a blast!
We enjoyed the house and the location on the lake. The house was clean and comfy. We had everything we needed (except for a good kitchen knife and a proper wine opener).
I accidentally forgot a few valuables in the drawer and it was all taken care of in the best way, I got them back quickly.

Great house but needs a new code lock
For my 30th I rented this house with some out of town friends so we could go to wine tours and rent a boat. The house was as pictured and we had a great time! However, it took us a while to get into the door, the code lock was very hard to get open. Not sure if it’s age of the lock or user error, but we are all college friends (engineers) and it was hit or miss if the door unlocked when entering the code in. Owner should get a new one. Also, dock and lake area was cool however we rented a boat and there are no metal hook things to tie it down to so that was a bummer when we got to the house to tie down and hang for a while. There was also a note not to drive past the driveway with a risk that you could crush drain piping and it’s very hard to tell where the driveway ends and the yard begins. Owner should invest in some permanent wooden markers or big rocks to show how far to pull in if this is a valid concern. Other than those few things, the house was great and exactly what we were hoping for and a great location!

Grill
There was a gas grill on premises however there was a mice nest with babies. We tried to remove mice but they were back the next day. Because of this we did not feel comfortable using the grill which put a damper on our stay. Also during our stay the fire alarm went off. It was hard wired so we couldn't turn it off or reset. I called the property manager but she was not helpful

We had a great week with our grown kids and grandkids. The weather was great and we enjoyed every minute. We kayaked, fished, swam, floated, and really just enjoyed hanging out together!

Great stay!
This was a great place to stay for a nice trip to the wineries! Our only suggestion would be to either have the property owner put a window unit in the loft or to have the individuals renting the property bring a large fan - it was very hot up there. Otherwise a great place to stay!

We had a great time!
We loved staying in this house! We ate all our meals on the deck looking out at the trees and the lake which was so relaxing. Tons of wineries within 5 minutes drive and Sheldrake Winery was even close enough for us to walk with our dog on a nice day. We also had fun with the air hockey table and got to go out on the lake in the kayaks, which was lovely. Definitely would stay here again!

Relaxing, fishing and kayaking vacation site
Great quiet location with plenty of room to spend quality time with family. Must be in shape as there are a lot of steps from the road to the water. Conveniently located within a short drive to many wineries, breweries and distilleries. Close enough to get food delivery from a couple lical eateries if you don’t want to cook.

Good for a group
The house was spacious and good for a group. We were disappointed with the lack of basic amenities and cleanliness. There was half a roll of toilet paper and no paper towels. I’ve never stayed anywhere that doesn’t provide toilet paper. The kitchen was pretty sticky in some places, the water pressure in the shower was awful and the beds upstairs had a lot of dust. Otherwise, check in was super easy and the lake was beautiful. Close to a lot of trails and wineries so there was an option for everyone!

Cozy lake house
Beautiful property! Perfect for our mini getaway. So relaxing to sit on the front porch and look out at the lake while drinking coffee. Close to lots of trails, gorges, and wineries. Very clean and cozy!

Getting away from Covid in Ovid
We all had an amazing time including the dog! The lake is great and the house/property was fantastic. There was plenty of supplies for cooking. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

Great location!
This house is just as described - great location, private lake on site, full BBQ equipment, and pet friendly! Most state parks are within a short driving distance which is a bonus for anyone who is looking to explore around. We deducted one star because the water pressure was really weak and the house was not very clean. But overall, this is a great location for anyone who’s on a budget!

Family fun in a private setting
We enjoyed our week- private beach and yard. Great layout of the house- basement access was great to unload wet towels, life jackets, etc from beach. Open floor plan with beautiful large deck to enjoy dinners. House is located on a quiet road. Beware- if you are unable to walk stairs, this is not the place for you. Stair to beach an incline walk up to the house.

Cozy and convenient
This place is well suited for a family with kids over 6. I think small toddlers would not be able to manage the steps to the shoreline and it might be difficult getting them down there. However there were lots of things to amuse slightly older kids ! Everything was as advertised.

Beautiful location
The house is located overlooking beautiful Cayuga Lake and the views from the great room are amazing.
We had a few issues. We arrived after dark and the key in the lock box did not fit the door it was attached to. We finally realized it fit the door on the other side of the house but a note on the door would have been very helpful. Also, there were no filters for the coffee pot. Every other rental house I have stayed in has always had a supply of filters available. We found some at a local store but they didn’t fit the machine and it was quite messy brewing coffee. Lastly, the shower had poor water pressure.
Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area.

Nice place for a weekend dog show
The place was just as it was pictured. Kitchen was nice and stocked with utensils and the welcome package and towels were convenient. Overall, the inside was comfortable and the air conditioning and fans keep the heat under control. Nice to have TV and internet. The hill up to the entrance is a little steep but manageable and it was just as easy to enter through the basement glass doors. Spacious and a nice quiet neighborhood with a good beach front. The lawn may not be made for large dog fetch but the lake front and dock are a good place to exercise a pup. Hope to be able to come back next year for the Wine Country Dog Show and Agility.

Great spot for hosting a group
Lovely house just across the road from Lake Cayuga. The abundance of beds, seating, and games in the basement make this a great spot for hosting a group.

August 2019 stay
I liked the location, but was disappointed with the level of cleanliness and lack of basic amenities like a towel bar and toilet holder in bathroom and no supply of basic cleaning products and hand or dish soap.
My husband had to fix one of the bedroom doors because it wouldn't stay closed.
