The pumpkin house is very cozy and quiet, well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable beds!
Nice big yard for the dog, beautiful mature trees and the hot tub was lovely! I look forward to staying at the pumpkin house again!

On site manager’s home is connected to houses bedrooms. She stomps around in what sounds like high heels on wood floors at 2:30am. Wakes us all up and doesn’t stop for an hour.
Someone knocked on the front door, twice, at 9am our first morning and by the time I got to the door, they were gone. No sound of vehicle movement…I assume the on-site manager.
Yard is NOT fully fenced! Beds were very uncomfortable.
Hot tub was nice. House and furniture needs to be deep cleaned.

Workation in the beautiful Great Pacific Northwest; quiet, safe and friendly neighborhood in what I can only describe as, "The Perfect House."
10.0 / 10.0
The house was nice and quiet. Parking was easy and access to the garage for storage was as described. Despite the weather being quite warm the house stayed comfortably cool. Access to food and groceries was good, it is a bit removed from the eateries in Portland but this was an expected trade off for the quiet neighborhood.

The location of this house was super convenient to Portland and Lake Oswego area. The house is comfy and roomy enough for our needs. The yard is beautiful and the neighborhood is quiet. We'd go back!

All we can say is that ut was an amazing place and neighborhood. Contact with the owner was easy and her staff was on top of it all. Highly recommend beautiful home and peaceful neighborhood.

The house is quaint a well maintained but the description makes it look more than it is while it requires relatively high level of paperwork (e.g. sending ID, have to sign a waiver to use the hot tub..). The TV in the living room is extremely small, some lights in the living room are very bright and don't provide a cosy atmosphere.
There's a tenant living in a room right above the garage, which shares a wall with the house. While the tenant is very quiet and thoughtful, you will hear them coming back home and walking around since the walls are paper thin (re-emphasizing that this is in no way the fault of the tenant). If you're sensitive to noise this can be an issue. Someone came cleaning the windows from outside during our stay without us being aware, which was a bit awkward. Otherwise the place overall is cute but it's certainly not as fancy as it looks on the photos.

Lovely stay
Cute place, in a wonderful residential neighborhood, very clean. Remote checkin process was great.
Downsides: hot tub murky when we got there and even though was serviced, was still murky when we left (granted, we were only there 3 nights so chemicals hadn’t kicked in yet)
What was once a beautiful backyard garden, has been sadly neglected..
Back patio needs some updated outdoor furniture.
All in all, though, we had a great stay!

Not quite what we expected
The house is old, there are several small issues here and there with broken doors/hinges, a smoke alarm that goes off when you take a shower (if you don't open the window facing the street)... Overall, instead of noting the issues with the home, it would be best for the property manager/owner to just fix them. As others complained, there is a TV, but it is about 13", and the live-in manager above bedroom can be a little noisy.

Owner wasn’t forthcoming about someone living in part of the house that is closed off
After attending an event, we came home to find a car parked in the driveway and a light on in the attic. You cannot get access into the attic room from the house, the door is on the outside. But our group felt uncomfortable and it unsafe. We wish the owner would have told us, someone would be living in part of the house.

Nice property. Clean. Lots of bed choices. Nice location.
Loved that there were supplies in the kitchen and bathroom. Towels were nice for the bath and there were also beach towels for the hot tub that was AWESOME!! Nice stay.

Perfect Portland Location
My wife and I live in Bend and love to visit Portland, but with two recent additions to the family hotels are no longer an option. We are SO happy we found the Pumpkin House, as it served as a perfect base from which to see friends and visit downtown - a quick 10 minute drive to almost everything and an even quicker trip to Washington Park to see the Rose Garden or The Children’s Museum.
The massive added bonus is the wonderful deck and gazebo, where we spent every evening after the babies were in bed. It’s so quiet and there’s so much to look at and soak in.
Furthermore we loved the bedrooms, it’s great to have a crib in one room, the kitchen and dining spaces are fantastic and we didn’t begin to take advantage of the HUGE garden which is very pretty.
Overall a lovely property in a lovely location and it’s amazing to be so close to town but in relative quiet and seclusion.

Perfect for a Family
My husband and I loved that the house was very kid friendly with toys, kids beds, so we didn't have to bring extra.
The location was great, very close to everything we wanted to see (Washington park for the zoo and children's museum, downtown and the amusementpark), house was cute with a big backyard. Our daughter goes to bed early (6:30/7pm) so it would have been nice to have more cable options like Netflix or Amazon to watch in the evening and a bigger tv, but we were able to rent redbox so it worked out. Overall super happy with the property.

Enchanting!
I can not say enough good things about this property! My spouse and I stayed there with our 4-legged companions for 11 nights while our home in Portland underwent remodeling. We felt so relaxed and supported in this home. If you are looking for a true taste of Portland, I would highly recommend this the Pumpkin House. The house is located closely outside of Portland in a very quiet and hilly area abounding with greenery. This is vintage Portland at its finest! The home is decorated in quintessential, funky Portland style. Someone obviously put a lot of thought and effort into making this home a delightful retreat spot for couples and families. The backyard is the crowning glory of this place. We were there in May and the beautifully manicured garden was in full bloom! There were roses blooming everywhere. There were also calla lillies, tiger lillies, and many others I can't name. The hot tub is sparkling clean and located near the house, where many bird and squirrel feeders attract all sorts of furry, cute critters. I could watch them play for hours. This property has obviously been well loved for a very long time. If you are visiting Portland, want something close-in and quiet, and love nature, I highly recommend this house. Kimberly was a great host and responded quickly and kindly to any questions I had.

Beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood
Great location. House and garden is beautiful for kids and pets. Hot tub is perfect in the evenings. Close to parks for walks and play with young children. Long term tenant in adjoining apartment was a bit of a surprise as you could hear talking and TV but never really affected us.

Great location in picturesque neighborhood.
We felt really comfortable spending a long Mother’s Day weekend here. Lots of great toys and games for our daughter. The garden out back is beautiful. We loved heading into Hillsdale proper for breakfast at Gi Gi’s and an ice cream cone at Hill Dairy. We recommend this location highly for families.

Cozy but close-to-town getaway!
We weren’t at the house much, but it was so conveniently located to downtown! We did get a lot of rain one day so we spent the night relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying some local beers that we picked up. Thanks for having us!!

A cozy retreat close to everything!
We couldn’t have picked a better Portland retreat to visit with family. It turned out to be a winter wonderland since it snowed much of the time. The hot tub was a welcome source of warmth and pleasure. We had our niece & nephew and their 3 young boys over to visit. They had a lot of fun playing foosball in the game room. The beds were comfortable and the sweet house had a vintage decor vibe. It was on a country lane but close to restaurants and downtown. We went out to dinner one night but then took advantage of one of Portland’s restaurant delivery services -just like room service! The TV was a bit small but we weren’t there to watch TV. Our little dog had a great time, too, even though it was too cold to spend much time outdoors. Frankly the snow was a great excuse to just hunker down and relax. What a nice house to do that in. Thanks Kimberly !

Charming Home in Quiet Neighborhood
This is a cute and comfortable home but we give it 4 stars instead of 5 because one can't entirely make ones-self at home here. There are lists of "rules" posted everywhere; most are total commonsense but a few such as "don't park on the street" felt designed to make us as invisible to the neighbors as possible. Also, some policies such as being warned that we would be charged extra for each dirty dish left behind were not in keeping with the standard set by the many other VRBO's that we have rented. In summary, we enjoyed the house, the location, the quiet neighborhood, the proximity (by car) to the City and the yard spaces. We were just a little put-off by the thoroughness of the "thou shall not's". Having said that, we would recommend the house to others and would rent it again ourselves.

Beautiful Home/Great location and Owner
A true gem if you are looking for a family rental in Portland. Cannot say enough good things about this property and especially about the superior management company. It had everything my family of four needed including a crib for my baby and super cute toddler bed for my son. My children loved this vacation house stocked with toys and a beautiful backyard landscape to explore. The interior has lovely decor and the location could not be better for easy access to all of the Portland attractions for families. Everything inside this property was very clean and all in working order. Rentals by Kimberly are an amazing group of people who really go above and beyond to ensure you are completely happy and satisfied. Are you ready for this?....I LEFT MY WEDDING RING on accident in the bathroom cabinet before flying home to California. YEEK!!! How could I? I know! BUT- Kimberly, the cleaning crew, and Anthony SAVED THE DAY!! The cleaning crew was so super honest, found the ring, alerted Anthony. He communicated with me the VERY SAME DAY to get the ball rolling on how to get it back to me asap. Kimberly herself was flying to Portland from her base in CA the next day and PERSONALLY got it back from the cleaning crew and took it to UPS to ship to me insured the NEXT DAY People! Talk about AMAZING!!!!! I've been married 10 years and that ring not only is expensive but has huge emotional value as you can imagine. The vacation was absolutely awesome until the moment on the plane that I realized I had forgot my ring. If it hadn't been for this amazing crew of people I would have lost something extremely valuable to me. They were so personable, truly cared, and went above and beyond to work around their already busy schedules to make sure they got my ring back to me safely. First off I could not have asked for a better rental experience while in Portland but the customer service of Kimberly and her staff are second to none. Wonderful people I will forever be grateful to! I will for sure be staying at this property for any future trips as well as her California properties. Thank you Kimberly, Anthony, and the cleaning crew for all your hospitality, hard work, and for being truly extraordinary people!

Perfect Retreat Location
This home was fantastic. It was perfect for the weekend retreat that I planned. We were there to get work done. The comfort of the home allowed us to complete all the necessary tasks. The house had plenty of space for everyone to separate and regroup. Kimberly was fantastic at answering all our questions even when we were at the house. She's great to work with. I would definitely recommend this home. Although downtown isn't far, I would suggest renting a car. Renting a car will be far more convenient and cost effective considering it was nearly impossible to get a cab. There was times where we waited over 40 minutes.

Quiet, Convenient, Comfortable And Pet Friendly!!!
My family and I just loved this comfy, well appointed home and the huge fenced-in backyard with mature fruit trees was perfect for our pup to explore. Breakfast in the morning and a nightcap in the evening on the front porch is a must. Although we didn't need all the kiddy paraphernalia, my family appreciated all the board games, etc. - especially the Jenga. Downtown is just over the hill and highway access is nearby - making it easy to get around by car. This is a great home base to enjoy all that Portland and the surrounding areas have to offer!

Wonderful family home away from home
I stayed at Kimberly's home with my extended family, and we had a wonderful time. The house is charming and warm, and well-stocked with pretty much anything you could need. My younger kids LOVED all the toys and games and DVDs, and my older kids appreciated the fast wi fi. I appreciated and enjoyed the hot tub, and all the things that are needed for young kids but you don't normally have the benefit of while travelling (changing table, diaper pail, kids cups, etc). The neighborhood is lovely, and Kimberly was responsive and easy to work with. Being from Texas, we were surprised that there was no AC except in the master bedroom, but it was cool enough that it wasn't needed, and it was a treat to be able to sleep with windows open in the middle of the summer and wake up to the birds. ;)) We would definitely stay again.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at this house. It was beautiful, homey, clean, well-cared-for -- the gardens are peaceful and gorgeous, the neighborhood is quiet, the hot tub is huge and the jets are great, the beds comfy, the water pressure in the showers is awesome (ours at home isn't so this really was a treat). I loved waking up to the sounds of birds outside, listening to the wind in the trees at night while lounging in the hot tub, and sitting on the front porch with my coffee in the morning. For a family with kids, it's perfect - our daughter LOOOOOVVVVED all the toys and books as well as the beautiful woodsy playground just a 5 minute walk away - there were changing tables, a diaper bin, gates on the stairs and even a rocking chair - all the things you need and miss when traveling with a little one. Kimberly is a responsible and wonderful host and obviously works to take good care of this place. We will be back! THANK YOU Kimberly!

What a great place to stay!! We just returned from our trip to Portland and couldn't be more pleased. The house is well maintained, well stocked, and in a great location. This was our first VRBO and it was a great experience. Also, Kimberly is very accommodating and very helpful!! I would definitely recommend this house!!

We've stayed at this house once before and enjoyed it so much we came back again. We have a 3 year old and a 4 year old and this house is absolutely perfect! No need to bring any toys, or kitchenware (except bottles), there's even a couple of sippy cups in the cupboard. Washer and dryer available (a must for any family). Both bedrooms are stocked with toys, and there's a crib, toddler bed, twin and queen in the kids's rooms (in addition to the king bed in the master). So any kid sleeping situation can be accommodated. By the way, beds are actually comfortable! Situated in Hillsdale community so it's close to the zoo, the children's museum, OMSI, etc. Grocery store about a mile away.
Owner is great to work with. Never had any issues in both times we've rented from her. This has basically become our Portland "home away from home" and we'll definitely be back.

This home is a home away from home! It has a great feeling of warmth when you walk in!
my favorite parts:
-the proximity to Portland- super close but yet removed from the actual city
-all the miscellaneous cooking supplies you need are here and ready to use!
-plenty of space to lounge around with your group
-great yard and outdoor area with Hot Tub!
-they have amazing shower heads!
We ended up having a large group and had no problem fitting us all in there! plenty of extra space with the basement and office!
I highly suggest this for anyone looking for a home away from home on their vacation!

We just returned from our stay in this lovely home and couldn't have been more pleased. What a lovely property, with a beautiful garden and in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from downtown Portland. It was our first visit to Portland, and we took public transportation to visit the museums and all the sights, and enjoyed coming back to the house to relax and unwind with a glass of wine on the porch. Our 5 year old daughter loved playing with all the toys, and sleeping in the car bed! The house had everything we needed and then some, and is exactly as it is pictured. The owner was very responsive and helpful; I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family visiting the region.

We rented this home for a weekend with my sister and her family wanting to primarily allow our 5 kids who are first cousins under the age of 8 to enjoy the weekend together. This home was perfect. They enjoyed playing hide and seek in the pretty garden and all the great toy trains, matchbox cars, stuffed animals, etc. Kimberley is a great owner. We encourage you to rent this home if you have children.

This was the ideal place for my husband and I to stay while he was recovering from a serious procedure at OHSU. This clean, comfortable and most important quiet home is in a safe neighborhood convenient to shopping, trips to downtown Portland and most important for us, an easy 8 minutes to OHSU. While it was just the two of us most of the time, the house generously accommodated visits from our adult children and our grandchildren ranging in age from 2 years to 9 years of age. The house is definitely child proof. Kimberly couldn't have done more to make this difficult time go smoothly.

We just got home from staying 3 nights in this home and absolutley loved it! We felt right at home as it was super cozy and so great for the kids. We had a 14 month old baby who had his own room with a crib and all the baby items we needed and our 4 year old loved the race car bed and all the toys. It was so nice to be able to put the kids to bed and relax in the hot tub. We loved the location as it seemed like only 5-10 minuites to get anywhere. The neighbours were really friendly as well. They greeted us when we arrived and told us where to go for groceries and good places to dine. I would recommend this house to any family that is looking to rent a house in Portland. We will for sure be back!
