Near the tram station and bus stop, easy access to city centre.
The building is very old, need some renovation.

Gorgeous historic building and great staff
Fab location and they upgraded us!
Just a little run down - hot tap was loose and cold tap didn’t work at all. Dark wood wardrobes and dated decor but kind of kitch!

Easy parking.
Great service
Good sized rooms with decent sized bathroom and all facilities you’d need for an overnight stay.
Was a bit of a trek to our room, other than that all good.

Good location, easy to find, helpful receptionist
Large property, room far from reception and as a solo traveller not used to travelling this felt a little concerning.
Radiator clicked all night and no one on reception on the morning to tell them

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast is brilliant, and really good value. The location was excellent, and felt safe. Walking distance to plenty of eating places nearby, and the tram is a 5-minute walk nearby if you need to head off to the centre. Would definitely stay here again.
The bed was ok, and certainly better than average. But perhaps the mattress could have been more comfortable. It was fine for me being as I was by myself on this occasion, but can imagine it might have been less comfortable otherwise.

Beautiful frontage, nice interior decorating, rich with Victorian aspects
The back of the place is really ugly, there was dust all over the rooms and there was a Christmas party on right beneath our room….we were just lucky that we were out really late so we avoided most of the noise

Great location, clean room with amenities. Bed was comfy and a great night sleep. Receptionist couldn't have been more helpful and was lovely to see a smiling face every time I came through the door.
No problems.

Originelles Hotel, sparsames Frühstück, Heizung funktionierte nicht.
Soweit alles gut, siehe oben.

Good location, good breakfast, friendly staff, clean room
Room was very warm, extremely hot weather didn't help, not the hotels fault but air con would've helped

I don't eat meat or fish or drink tea or coffee usually.
Organic peppermint available. Breakfast included oats with dried fruits and nut.
Eggs, vegetarian ,and fresh fruit.
Brown bread.
So lots of healthy options for me.
Room had kettle and small tray for cups or plate.
And larger tray for kettle and any cold food I bought.
Able to recycle to staff.
(Soft plastics taken to Morrisons which is virtually opposite.)
Easily accessible to the airport by train and also to Sutton Coldfield or Dudley which were places I visited during my stay.
Large green area at the hotel, plus terrace to sit out.
Bar with friendly helpful staff.
Do not disturb notice for the room door.
Card entrance felt safe
Had bath and shower ensuite.
Comfortable bed, good lighting system in the bedroom,.
The area is interesting, multi cultural, which I like.
Traffic on Hagley Road and some building work a, although this is only in working hours.
Traffic is improving with the Metro and there are a number of traffic lights.
Less glass high rise would be great, however you can avoid these by heading away from the City centre , where the area is tree lined, with some lovely old buildings, including pubs.

Linens were clean, good location, pleasant bar.
The carpet at the entrance needs some TLC.

. It's convenient in terms of location.
. Rooms are clean.
. The pictures show the central hotel pretty building, which is slightly misleading as the rooms are at the back in another hostel styled building. Felt mislead.
. Car Parking is £10 per night; if you book through booking.com, otherwise it's free. Felt annoyed.
.Hotel provides you with tea & coffee making facilities, but you need to pay another £5 for a 750ml bottle of water. Felt cheated.
. Although the hotel entry is on the main road, however, the car park entry is obscure and not easy to spot. Felt stressed.
. The rooms look very tired with cosmetic work done; felt the owner did it themselves to save money, with no finesse. Felt like a hustle.
. No AC in the room. For £120 a night, you get a weak fan that at full speed rattles. Felt annoyed.
. Hotel shows under 4 star category, but in reality, it's under 3 star. Felt mislead.

Unusual to find such a good hotel at such a good price so close to the city centre. Liked the secure parking.
Nothing really.

Great staff, comfy bed . Shame no cheaper breakfast alternative for a longer stay and no chef for the evenings, however would stay for work again

no noise (or perhaps no neighbours?), funny taps - no cold water, no toilet brush, I'd prefer a harder mattress and softer pillows (there were 4! which was lovely). located right next to a busy street but no excess noise. close to a tram stop (a 10 min ride from the Central station, 2GBP single for Zone 1, 2.80GBP return Zone 1), super close to bus stops. a few little grocery shops nearby. clean, no sign of tear & wear.
lovely interiors, a real nice period building, the famous staff made it all nicer - thank you for the chit chats Miles, Emma, Lorraine (?), Julia, Joe. a pleasant walk to/from the Utilita, pubs & restaurants within a walkable distance. tea/instant coffee + a kettle in the room were very handy. the heated towel dryer proved brilliant in case a quick hand-wash was needed. about Brum: The Broad Street Walk of Stars is not easily found (had trouble locating a few stars ... tourist infopoint at the library not much help either :(

Lovely beautiful building on lovely green and clean grounds.

Quiet
great big back and white tiled bathroom and bath tub. let glass wood framed bathroom door and good lighting over vanity basin
lovely furniture , grand piano and layout
It's a ghost town.
Barely any customers or guests around with only a staff barman around. Even though reception said hotel was fully booked.
no one was ever at front line reception. after travelling for a while I stood around waiting to check-in because no one was there and then eventually went to look for someone.
When I checked out no one was there either. I just left my card at the counter and left.
There's a service where you can send a text to a phone number for various different services ie room service where they suggest you can ask for more milk, clean cups etc they'll leave it outside the door. I did this around 8am next morning. Did not hear back or receive anything. i called reception/room service after 15minutes and then 5, no one answered. later I called the external hotel number and the phone was answered straight away. It was a half hour affair which I didn't want to deal with early in the morning or have the time on my schedule for. even more of a time waster was having to listen to all the excuses as to why they were too busy to answer the phone. As a paying guest I wasn't really interested nor do I feel I should have had to have my ear bent about it.
Ordering a taxi was too much of a another long conversation and repetitive. For a hotel who has two cab offices on their books they had no idea or could roughly estimate a time it would take a taxi to arrive on a Sunday at 10:15am. They would have to ask... No one ever called me back to tell me the arrival time so I could do a few last things and head downstairs. I was called when it arrived, headed down, as said earlier no one around at reception when I left.
An intended night relaxing shower ended up being a noisy pipes nightmare.

Couldn't be better located, especially for a non driver, metro is 5 min walk away and plenty of bus routes , bus stops on both directionsbright outside the door. The room was vrry spacious and warm. Would have pregerred a walk.in shower rsther than a bath. Struggle to get into the bath.
The place is old and very dated, some furniture is even crumbling to bits, the old wooden brown doors are not very enticing at all, the place really needs a refurb.

Friendly and helpful staff - excellent breakfast !
