Free parking and location - near to city center and supermarket

1- the scheduled hot water supply and the long wait for next hot water supply to take bath were so inconvenience 2- the beds are sagging and not firm - gave us aching back after 3 nights sleeping 3- the shower cubicle in master bdroom is very small that it is so uncomfortable to take a shower - hardly have space to even move!

No hot water very disappointing. Location good.

The property is close to the centre and was close to the venue we werre attending for our event. The property was spacious.

No hot water throughout our stay. When we complained Initial response from Zen was ‘you can wait another hour to check’ . We werre also told the cleaner confirmed there was hot water, and felt like Zen were indicating we weren’t being truthful. No apology or anything. We could not wait an hour as we had to be out for a certain time. Very frustrating as you expect basic amenities to be working especially after a long drive. The next day we contacted zen again and received an apology and were advised we could move to another apartment where there was hot water however rather than moving all our items , we used this apartment to shower only. Normally I would give a place the benefit of the doubt re hot water not working however Reading back through other reviews I can see that this is an ongoing issue. It is not acceptable.

Not suitable for 5 adults

Not suitable for 5 adults. No 5th bed no bed linen for 5th air bed .No sofa bed. Air bed deflated when used making sleep impossible. Shabby lounge furniture. No table. Lift had no light. Getting help with problems was not easy causing us to loose our restaurant booking. Next day moved to more suitable accommodation with 3 single beds but longe furniture only sat 4 people and still no table.

Sorry in wrong slot. All we did not like.

Girls weekend

The apartment was large, had two bedrooms, bathrooms and provided a shower and bath, one being en suite. Everything was provided in the kitchen, so a nice kitchen area and large TV to sit in front of which had netflix already set up which was a nice touch and free WiFi. There was one cosy lounge chair which was comfy but me and my friend had to fight who sits on this as the main sofa was hard. Parking was free, it was a little confusing at first where to park underground but the property provided good instructions on their booking. The staff were very helpful.

The mattress on the double bed was extremely springy and sunk in. The sofa wasn't very comfortable and had a wobbly side arm which I was worried it would break off so avoided, It was also quite stained. The building is very open so you can hear EVERYTHING. The people who live above you could hear moving furniture, running back and forth and even hear their conversations. Also the blankets on every bed smelt like dust/mothballs which wasn't pleasant.

enjoyed the view of the sunset.

The best accommodation I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. 😍

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The accommodation is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking.

Callum, top man. Helpful and reliable all around the clock.

Awesome property. Immaculate condition, as if the apartment has never had any previous use. HIGHLY recommended. Excellent HOST/owner. Deposit was required which was normal and thankfully owner returned with no trouble unlike a few previous places I stayed.

Literally loved everything.

Pretty great

The apartment was on the ground floor which was ideal for us. The location of the apartment may have been next to a main road but we hardly noticed. There's a large Tesco a few minutes drive and we were able to get around easily. The apartment was clean and suitable for a few nights stay. The rooms were a good size!

Not fit for purpose! Should be listed as a hostel.

There was no hot water, and we had to go 2 floors up to a different apartment to have a shower on saturday morning after complaining. We left the flat for the day, and they promised to fix it before our return. They didn't. We checked out on sunday without taking a shower as the hot water didn't run in our apartment and the other one as well. After complaining, they stated that the hot water is programmed to run at certain times of the day, but this was not stated in their description and when we queried the rationale, they replied, "we didn't list our property as luxurious. We are not a hotel." Zen living is simply not fit for purpose. They should be listed as a hostel at best.

Our stay

Very quiet location and safe feeling due to security.

The security lights on the buildings don't go out and the bedroom blinds don't block it out very well so the rooms stay quite bright at night. The TV in the living room could not get catch up or free view as far as we could work out. However the bedroom ones could so that was good.

Fair low budget stay

It’s really well located with a canal nearby with plenty to do and go. Tesco superstore just around the corner. The free parking was a nice bonus. And the overall flat wasn’t bad at all, spacious and clean! Very clean I thought. Oh and a good pressured hot shower was nice as well!

I thought that the owners could look after the flat a little better. there are plenty of marks on the walls, so some new painting would be nice. torn sofa, there was a hole in the kitchen ceiling, no blinds in one of the rooms which was really annoying. The apartment was really hot, on a rainy day, And the windows don’t open fully, and there was only one fan available. Kitchen utensils could seriously use an update. But I mean, it wasn’t all that bad, I guess for a low budget stay it can do the job just fine if you aren’t bothered with these things.

Very good

Very pleasant, spacious two bedroom apartment, secure complex and underground parking with security on site. We didn't have any problem with the water or heating, we just followed the instructions and it was fine! Lovely full size fridge/freezer, oven, microwave , washer. Comfy beds too, large TV and good WiFi. Tesco superstore a few minutes walk away, and a Tesco express in the Jewellery Quarter, very convenient for provisions. Also only about a 15 - 20 minute walk to the city.

Kitchen could have been better equipped altho basic essential crockery and cutlery were all there - not many pans and cooking dishes though. We were booked in for 3 weeks because our son started a new job and needed accommodation whilst waiting for his permanent apartment to be prepared. After an initial problem with the washing machine, which for a prolonged stay was an essential, once that was fixed, everything went smoothly and the owners were mostly responsive and helpful. The only other problem was a lot of noise from tenants on the floor above which unfortuhately we didn't get a response about. To be fair, I guess there's not much anyone can do about inconsiderate guests banging about in the night but it did cause a problem with sleepless nights for our son who was working.

We were very comfortable here. It is a great base for exploring Birmingham. I would stay here again.

Very central, quiet, and secure. Gated with underground car park. Apartment is new, spacious, light and clean Good adjustable heating system - we were very cosy (April) Big TV

Would have liked more crockery, and utensils- some bigger bowls for salad, serving dishes for cooked meals,pasta spoon, salad servers, heat proof mat. A cafitiare There was instant coffee, tea, sugar, and pepper. Had to go out and buy salt! The administration is all online - I needed my daughters modern know how to work out how to complete registration, and get the information we needed to get codes and parking. I sent an email with questions but never got an answer.

Getting keys were easy. Lock box code was simple just finding the apartment was a little confusing but once we found it, all was good. Apartment was very spacious and clean.

The hot water was an absolute nightmare. 7 days there hot water was finally fixed on the 5th day. Was told not to touch the boost button so we didn't. both taps were broken so hot water was not adjustable and they came in the next day to fix it. The maintence man came back to fix it, and said it was done. Still only enough hot water for half a shower. Following day they came back to say it was on wrong time and not filling tank completely. Day 5 finally enough hot water to be able to shower. For an apartment that can "host up to 6" I am unsure how it would last. There is a sign stating refer to user manual in the kitchen but no manual provided. No instructions on how to use any of the appliances or the washer/dryer machine.

Lovely few days in a great apartment

Lovely clean apartment. Liked the secure area with parking.

Signage from parking area could have been better as we ended up wandering around trying to find the apartment. Some signage on doors from lifts or stairs would have been good.

Beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean & so comfortable. Great having 2 bathrooms. Highly recommend.

Twin room was too light as no curtain, which affected the quality of sleep for my daughter. Traffic noise disturbed sleep. Everything else was perfect. Apartment spotlessly clean and beautiful and it was great to have two bathrooms

Location of the accommodation, it is close to city center and super market. Secure car park and gated entrance gives you added feel of security. Very clean and tidy property. Self Check in is easy and smooth process. Most of the things of immediate use are present to use. Very well equipped apartment

Washing machine takes at least 5 hours to finish it's job.

Not much to like unfortunately.

1. No free parking 2. No hot water. 3. Broken floor boards 4. Leaking shower trays. 5. £20 inconvenience refund withdrawn when inconvenienced to move to another appartment where the hot water stopped after one shower.
