Clean and comfortable room, excellent fresh-cooked full English for breakfast.
Noisy adjacent room - not the hotels' fault, of course.

Fantastic view over the river and bridge. Decent sized rooms.
Good breakfast served by Felix. Friendly receptionist was very helpful.
Bathroom shows some sign of damp, not excessive but noticable.

Location was great.
Although clean the room smelt of smoke, got moved and the next one was not much better.

Wonderful staff and food was excellent.
Rooms are very basic 80 s style, one bed uncomfortable sagging in middle, lot of cobwebs in hallway etc
Rooms basic and beds old, frontage needs weeding

It was close to many towns in the area. The staff were wonderful, knowledgeable and very accommodating
Unfortunately, the carpets in the hallways were in need of repair. The faucets in the bathrooms needed updating for use more than looks. They dripped and were wet very difficult to turn

Brerakfast was very good. Room perfectly adequate. Dinner OK.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely view from the restaurant/breakfast room
The hotel was very dated and randomly decorated. Although the room was clean, the corridors were certainly in need of a good scrub in parts.

Breakfast was great. Room was a bit small but clean and ok for two nights. The location was wonderful next to the river and close Wallingford which was very nice to visit - castle Gardens and meadows recommended.
Room a bit small but ok for one person and only stayed for a couple of nights. Good

Room was pleasant with a great view.
Room appeared to have been updated but why would you not repaint the walls and the wood work at the same time??? Condensation between double glazing needs looking at.
Waitress serving on our first night had an attitude problem and really didnt seem to want to be there, not ideal for a frontline facing staff.
Food was average, overdone poached eggs with breakfast and underdone asparagus on starter!!! Some of the waiting staff need to clear and relay the tables/dirty table cloths quicker. Also check the tea/coffee cups be fore putting them on the table we were sending dirty cups back every morning at breakfast.

We were there to meet our son who is studying at Oxford, so the location was excellent. The room was clean and tidy and the view from the window was excellent too.
I am an older person so the times of the breakfast sitting which are 7am -9am weekdays and 7am-10am weekends, would be more suitable if they were extended until 10am and 11am. My wife was able to get her breakfast, but because of the early start and finish times I wasn't able to get there on time. Disappointing.

Very friendly staff. The room was clean, comfortable bed and good shower. Had a good view of the River Thames. We joined in an evening event which we booked upon arrival. Was a great evening - food was extremely good. Lovely breakfast in the morning too.

Breakfast. Hot table service with plenty of juices and cereals on the side. Toaster machine is excellent . Rooms are spacious, clean and the bed is comfortable. Bar is good with many drinks available. Staff are the X factor that would make us return here again
Carpets are tatty in the corridor

Very comfortable beds, clean towels daily, good wifi, excellent chef - great evening meals and cooked breakfasts. Convenient location for walking The Thames Path. Bettina was very helpful, efficient and has a pleasant manner. Alfie has a lovely personality and provided excellent service. Oriel and Dominica were very smiley and helpful as were Chrissie, Tory and Ottolie.
The hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment, redecoration and new carpets. Communal areas were lacking in cleanliness and carpets dirty and taped down in several places. Our room was quite dark as it was at the back of the property. There was no hairdryer in the room. Housekeeping was hit and miss - some mornings tea/coffee and milk were not replenished, dirty glasses not washed, toilet rolls not replaced and glasses brought up to the room from the bar were not removed the next morning. One or two of the other restaurant staff would benefit from additional training. One morning there was no fresh fruit or brown bread put out for breakfast but when we questioned this at reception we were told there was plenty in the kitchen! The restaurant could benefit from some background music to improve the ambience.

Location was perfect. Breakfast was good, except the toaster was a bit slow

Location of the property was ideal, next to the river and a good place to explore the surrounding areas
The property was very tired, with thread bare carpets which in areas had been taped down. Seriously needs a lick of paint as walls damaged, marked or plaster coming away from walls.
The bedroom was not decorated to how the pictures advertised. No head board on the bed which I find odd in this day and age.
Dirty menus at breakfast which had not been cleaned.
Big security issue, we were in room 34, the Fire exit door around the corner from our room was permanently left open, rotting away and could not shut it, easily accessible from outside, up the fire escape stairs, straight into the property!!

Location great
Passage way carpets threadbare and paintwork dirty and needs improvement. Breakfast I was told was at 7am but nobody there so I didn't bother

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty.
I was excited about my stay as I had booked a suite and could see the views were amazing.
When I entered the very dated room the musty smell was quite repulsive. The bed was clean but several surfaces were thick with dust.
I did not have the option of going elsewhere so I asked for some fresh air spray at reception and told them the room stank. No apology, I was looked at as though I was lying and handed an air deodoriser. I was able to cope with the smell enough to fall asleep but woke at 3am and spent some time sitting outside, I did not sleep again.
When I arrived at work and told colleagues where I stayed everyone laughed, apparently many of the management team had stayed there once and never returned. One colleague had even walked out due to the volume of dead flies in her room. Do not stay in the bungalows, they should not be let to anyone, especially at a price of £130. Never again.

The evening meal was very nice with cheerful staff.
Location was lovely.
Photos showed a swimming pool but it was empty and looked like it needed an upgrade
The hotel was in desperate need of new carpets and decoration. It was shabby.
The beds didn’t have headboards.
Our daughters room didn’t have a hair dryer

Breakfast was excellent. Room and en suite were big. Setting was amazing.
Carpet in communal areas. The hotel is obviously being refurbished and some areas are still a bit run down. We had two rooms, one of which was a newly decorated one with lovely views of the river, hopefully all the rooms will end up like this.
