The building and grounds
I was disappointed that the room was not as clean as I would like the toilet floor was especially unclean
4.2
The full area, we were able to have a full walk and have some fresh air.
All was good.
4.2
Beautiful rooms, great breakfast, nice but small spa
Dinner service took a long time plus fish was more batter than fish

Everything

Location was really beautiful. The scenery is amazing and the mood of the whole building is so relaxed and comfortable. The rooms are better than I expected, beautiful.
The heating wasn’t the best. The rooms are pretty cold, and there’s no information on how to get the heating working. Though; I guess I could have rang the reception.
4.2
The bed was comfy
The staff didn't seem to know what they where doing which you wouldn't expect in a 5 star hotel and they where not very helpful (to be clear they weren't rude and were nice people, it just seemed like they hadn't had any training)
The room was boiling hot and not well cleaned.
The spa was very small and there was people old towels and glasses everywhere.
If we wanted to go for dinner we had to pre order and they said the reason was because of supplies available?

Absolutely stunning property and would definitely go back 5 stars
The lady at the spa was a little short with me initially making a booking and then was confused about me canceling the same one. I was then almost charged for a treatment I didn’t have, but management sorted it all out really quickly.

From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant retreat, I was mesmerized by its charm and the exceptional service it offered. Every aspect of my experience was remarkable, but three elements, in particular, stood out: the delectable breakfast, breathtaking scenery, and the incredibly attentive staff.
4.2
Cosy and comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, delicious food in the restaurant.
nothing!

I loved sitting outside in the cubicles and walking around the lovely grounds. Staff was extremely helpful with check in.

The staff was friendly and accommodation. The bar service was excellent too!
The restaurant did not heat the plates that had hot food and the server had to ask who had what plate, what an such an upmarket place the server should know to whom toe specific dish should be served.

The facilities were very good, the food was absolutely fantastic and most of all the staff bar one person were all absolutely wonderful. The room was very large and the location next to the pool was perfect. On the whole the staff were the nicest, most cheerful, authentic, lovely energy people / staff we have experienced in a while. We loved the grounds and the exquisite buildings. It is a truly beautiful spot and an absolutely perfect spot for a wedding.
The room had a very odd stale smell that remained throughout the stay. Also the bed was so uncomfortably soft that my boyfriend could not get his spine straight the first night and was sleeping in a V shape. We had to request that the bed bases were removed so that the mattresses felt more firm and we slept with the mattresses on the floor for the rest of the stay. All of the staff were incredibly nice except for the lady who worked at the reception in the mornings. She seemed quite disinterested that my boyfriend could not sleep until 4am because of the mattress and ultimately we solved our own problem by experimenting and asking for the bases to be removed - the room staff were very kind and helpful with that. Our second last day we had to leave the hotel for Wales for the whole day as David's son was playing the final in the Nationals tennis and won the under 16 singles and doubles tennis so we had not even visited the spa on our trip until the last day. We asked if we could use the spa until 1 pm on our final day when we would leave and without checking with the spa to see if it was busy the receptionist flat refused, said no use of the facilities after 12 and was again very rude. She chose her words poorly to get our backs up rather than declining in a way that would not make us feel like we were just an annoyance and it was a sadly hostile way to finish the holiday. As it turned out the spa was very empty and it would not have been an issue to use it for an extra hour plus it would have made us far more inclined to come back.

The building is stunning!
The cleanliness is very poor. The room we stayed in was very dirty and tired and not ready for guests. We were also given incorrect information about breakfast and generally, most questions asked were left unanswered and no one went to find out. This facility is definitely nowhere near 5*
4.2
Everything. Staff were highly professional and extremely helpful and courteous. Facilities, especially the spa were excellent.
Having to leave.
4.2
Good breakfast, rooms very nicely decorated, amazing staff
Room was cold when we arrived and took a long time to warm up - a full day). The spa was tired.
4.2
Breakfast, room
SPA facilities massively below standard for a 5 star hotel - SPA was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel
4.2
Comfortable beds, and beautiful grounds
Small spa and overpriced restaurant
4.2
Grounds and setting lovely, fantastic building and surroundings. Wonderful Ukrainian lady on reception very helpful and welcoming - full credit to her. However some other things fell short of 5 stars.
Room reasonable and spacious - nice bathroom and excellent shower, but décor middling in need of update. Hot thick duvet and mediocre pillows meant a rather restless night.
Bar area ok - but again felt a bit tired. Lady who greeted us for lunch not particularly welcoming - she opened saying how obviously busy they were - they weren't. Lunch and dinner menus were virtually identical - and not really 5 star food, though what we did eat was of good quality. We abandoned our dinner and went into Cheltenham in the end; not only because of lack of food choice but because there was only one other couple in 18:30 dinner seating which felt odd and empty for a Saturday. Inclusive breakfast in the morning was good - bustling in fact: the same dining room packed with punters - some tables they turned over twice while we were there. Overall we had a lovely weekend - but some things I expected to be better here, a few of which I have excluded from the review. You can find this with certain "5 star" places - once they get the stars the service slips beneath the price tag.

The history, the architecture, the ambiance all amazing. Staff really lovely very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely return
very disappointed with the lager selection it was non existent
