The countryside and Mountain View’s is terrific, but the location just beside the road with the traffic is just a pity
Cold welcome… the restaurant is a large room with nobody inside…
Would not recommend to stay there

Was upgraded from a twin room to a double room with kitchen, sitting area and balcony! Very happy. my request for extra pillows was received and done before I arrived. Hot tub was ready when requested.

Different than a typical hotel. Parking was good. Easy to find. Had a poke stop.
Hot tub was way TOO HOT! Couldn't find them to let them know. Food was not that great, dinner or breakfast.

We had a very nice large room with a small kitchenette space and a comfortable bathroom with a towel rail (very handy to dry your swimming suits!). The room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean.
The restaurant on site is unappealing and only offers basic food. The hotel is not walking distance from any other amenities (although it is itself in a lovely position by the river)

The cottage where we stay was really clean and the kitchen has every kitchen things. When you turn on the hot water I could smell of sulfer but the water came from the natural hot spring, so it was pretty good experience for me.

Room was very spacious and clean, kitchen in the room was well-equipped and had everything you needed to make a full meal. We arrived on a very cold and wet, rainy day, so we appreciated the towel warmer in the bathroom to help dry our wet clothing. We also had a nice river view from the room, I'm sure it is beautiful in the summertime. We checked in late, and the staff was very helpful in giving us easy self-check in instructions.
The shower doors were a little tricky to navigate, we had some issues with water leaking out from underneath the door and onto the floor. We had to use our bath towels to mop up the water.

Quiet peaceful place, the cottage was spacious

Beautiful location although a little far from the airport or shops, but closer to the Snæefellness National park than from Reykjavik. The apartment was equipped with everything I could need, there was enough space and everything looked new and clean. I could see the auoroa borealis from here!
I arrived earlier than 4 pm and there was nobody there, although I was aware that check in is only from 4 pm I did not know that the reception is also closed.

We had a great stay at Laxarbakki. This hotel is in the mountain range and the view is exquisite. We purposely chose Laxarbakki because it's in the middle of nowhere so that we can see northern lights without any light pollution. We didn't have to take any northern lights tours and could just walk out of the front door to see it. We got extremely lucky to see the northern lights 2 nights in a row. It was very strong the 2nd night that it lit up the whole sky! The hotel worker was so nice to go around the whole hotel to tell people to come out to see the beautiful lights!!
We also chose this hotel because it has a sauna and jacuzzi. We used the sauna quite often during our stay. The sauna is very big and we could set the temperature to our desire. We could also lock the sauna room so we could be private. It has 2 showers.
Our room was large, clean, and very comfortable. It has a full kitchen with all the equipment and full size frig/freezer. Our room had only a water cooker, but we requested a coffee machine and the owner delivered one immediately. It has a lot of closet space, much more than we need. The best part is that it even has a washer/dryer combo in our bathroom! I have never seen another hotel with it. The beds were comfortable. We received clean set of towels every day.
When they say check-in is from 16:00, they mean it! We arrived at 14:30 and they were not open. So we had to wait until 16:00 before we could check in.

The location of our cottage was perfect - a view of the beautiful Icelandic lands, the river that was nearby. The cottage is in an elevated position and you could see everything from the windows. The environment was very warm and welcoming, with a closed bathroom and shower, in which flowed hot water that came from the warm Icelandic soil.
the cottage outside has a large outside area with a table and chairs, and we got to see the northern lights one evening too, it was beautiful. For us everything was perfect.

it was a bit cold in the bed room and no shampoos in the bathroom

Anna was very welcoming and friendly! Communication back and forth with her was great!
The hot tub and sauna were A ++! A real treat!
Pretty close to two towns with all facilities needed!
The cottage is a bit old but still cozy! The bathroom cupboards were a bit dirty with previous guests stuff left in there.

The place jas potential to be a '10' with minor adjustments (see negatives)
The staff super friendly and helpful (let us use the laundry, went above and beyond to help with things normally not included in the room e.g. coffee)
Hot tub & sauna
Room is actually a small studio with a kitchenette and a couch
Bathroom is ill-designed (gets flooded every time you shower)
1 towel per person
No welcoming tea/coffee in the room (our only time in Iceland in this price range) forcing you to pay extra for restaurant services

Literally every night right outside the door was an amazing view of the northern lights.
The room was fantastic for a family of 4 two boys 9&12
Could have done with a partition between the beds(that’s being very picky)

Great rooms with kitchenettes good for longer stays, good location for a night between the South Coast and the West, great family run Hotel, food was good
5.0
nicely equipped large rooms
Very cold rooms, heating did not work, nor did TV. During a fire alarm, staff switched off the alarm and told us there was no fire BEFORE actually checking the cause of the alarm - smoke coming from an abandoned guest room stove.
This announced 4star hotel (actually a motel next to a highway) requires its guests to clean the kitchenettes (!) - not only inconvenient but also resulting in not really clean dishes... Double bed consisted of 2 twins coming apart..
